Stats to consider for #26:
Somebody loses their #1 right before we reach the halfway point of the rankdown. This song was actually doing very well early on spending a couple movements in the top 10 before cooling off and finishing in the 20s. Just one poster will be left standing with all of their top 10 after this reveal and that person will also clear their bottom 10 here.

This is definitely one of my favorite solo singles from Sting. This song reached the top 10 in the Netherlands and was also a top 20 hit in Belgium and Ireland. #26

Just making the top half is an artist that's been in a Lost Hits rankdown before. Although nobody had it in their top 10 the song did manage to receive 7 top 20 rankings which is the most of any song to miss the top 20.

I was pretty torn about including either this song or "If You Let Me Stay" since both are really good. Besides reaching the top 30 on the Hot 100 this song also hit the top 10 on Billboard's Dance and Soul charts. #24

These last 2 reveals of the night were tied in points. Losing the tiebreaker is the first song to be revealed so far that got more than 2 top 10 rankings. This song looked like it had secured a spot in the top 20 only to be knocked out right at the very end.

Much like "Never Can Say Goodbye" this next song also received 3 top 10s. It was able to beat that song out though by having a top 5 ranking. Somebody will end the day with a perfecto. This song would've needed 2 more points to make the top 20.

Despite my ranking I do like this song, though nothing else I've heard from Tracy has even come close to "Fast Car". This was a #1 hit in Portugal and also reached the top 20 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. #21

40. Right Next Door (Because of Me) - Robert CrayI know a boatload of 80's and this didn't strike any memory chord. Unless it's one of those that magically appeared on 80's Mainstream Rds. In the end this one didn't excite me in the least. 39. I'm Not the Man I Used to Be - Fine Young CannibalsAnother one I didn't recall. maybe as an extra on and 80's Modern Rock Rd. As far as this band's songs go. I liked "johnny Come Home" and maybe "good Thing"38. Theme from S-Express - S'ExpressThis is one of the few dancy numbers from late 80's moon rising into 90's that I found interesting. The vocals were blah, but I di enjoy the song's tuff sounding main riff. 37. Oh Yeah - YelloThis exits were it should. Not much to offer in vocals, but kinda sorta fun in a novelty song way. 36. The Only Way Is Up - Yazz and The Plastic PopulationI didn't care for this one.I know the times were changing, but this was too left field from their classic Synthpop vibe. In there defense there is a hi-NRG version out there I knda dug for it's SAW inspiration. 35. The Boy in the Bubble - Paul SimonI like one song from Paul Simon. The one with Chevy Chase in the music video. That song was fun. This one was not. 34. Colors - Ice-TDid the best I could with this one cause I love the movie ,and the song fits the feuding gangs thing rather nicely, but I could never sit and listen to this music apart from the movie. 33. Love in the First Degree - BananaramaSimply appalling how this funbomb NRGetic number isn't in everyone's top 10. Wonderful vocals catchy chorus. I feel like I'm surounded by a bunch of serious people. Try smiling once in a while. 32. If Looks Could Kill - HeartThis was the most Heart was on fire on their self titled 1985 album. We didn't get to rank it on Mainstream, but it's still one of my favorites. If you love this sound check out Chez Kane's upcoming solo debut on Frontiers Records....and yes I'm pimping Frontiers Records on an 80's RD, because the bands on their roster sound like 80's 31. Running in the Family - Level 42Fantastic upbeat Sophistipop. One of my favorites from the band. 30. Midas Touch - Midnight StarAnother song that didn't quite have the magic to show up higher. 80's R&B is pretty much unbeatable. 29. Misfit - Curiosity Killed the CatJust missing my top 10. Sophistipop was closest we got to early 80's NewWave/Synthpopand. This one needed a re issue before it caught on. That's when they finally scored top 10 in their native land. The only way I heard this one was on F.M.'s KPWR. 28. Circle - Edie Brickell & New BohemiansI was never a fan of this band. A little too 90's and devout of NRG for me. 27. Broken Land - The AdventuresThis was another first time listen for me. It had a difficult time competing with song I already knew and loved. The first thing that came to mind was "Wouldn't It Bo Good" by Nick Kershaw. That's mainly the reason I pushed it up my list. 26. Englishman in New York - StingThis song was ok. way better than his 90's stuff, but nowhere as magical as his Police stuff. 25. Satellite - The HootersI might have come across this one on one of the 80's retro Rds. It sounded pretty good for my top 20. Almost sounds like a Scottish melody in the background. 24. Dance Little Sister - Terence Trent D'ArbyI didn't care fro the "Sign my name on the wishing well" or whatever it was titled, but this is my favorite song by Terence. Ot's never appeared on any Pop retro Rds, but now you know. There are some strong Prince/The Time vibes in the funky guitars. 23. Edie (Ciao Baby) - The CultI always liked this song, but everyone knows I'm a bag Cult fan when they turn up the fire. 22. Never Can Say Goodbye - The CommunardsI'm surprised this didn't get tanked with Nocera or Bananarama. I can never figure out what makes you all like some fun upbeat NRG songs from others when they are all fun. Anyway I'm not complaining this was one of my favs from 1987, and I have the 12' vinyl in my collection. 21. Baby Can I Hold You - Tracy ChapmanOnly one other song Beasts this out as my favorite travesty to tank. Ended previewing it three times before I could get through the whole thing without dozing off. Why is this song this high?

first batch of extras were a tuff ride. The only song I liked was "Burning Like a Flame", but it really didn't sound like Dokken. Great for Night Ranger tho. Second batch of extras are way more tasty let's start off with my favorite, and probably one most of you would tank. Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now - Samantha Fox100% uncut Hi-NRG fire. Ever since I heard Dead Or Alive first introduce me to this style I fell head over heals for the sound. This is the style of Dance music that everyone around the world embraced except the U.S.. I heard it was too fast for them. The U.K's famous Pinup girl proves she had more than two talents. This song was also covered in the 90's by Roxy Robin for High Energy records label. Somehow the NRGetic beauty is captured even stronger at faster BPms. Don't Leave Me This Way - The Communards with Sarah Jane MorrisMy second favorite is this gorgeous NRGETIC bouncer sung by Jimmy Sommerville. This was also covered by 90's Italo NRG performers like Mauro Farina ,and Lilac which was actually Mauro doubling his vocals as falsetto. French Kissin - Debbie Harry Another one I charted was this one from Debbie Harry. I forgot how hot she looked in this video. Showing Out (Get Fresh at the Weekend) - Mel & KimBelieve it or not I charted this one for few weeks. The beats were Houesy inspired which were not my thing, but I really liked how the sounded like The Cover Girls vocally. If You Let Me Stay - Terence Trent D'Arby First time listen. It was actually pretty nicely done. had some retro Motown vibes which I enjoyed. Terence should have stuck with this sound instead. There are still a handful of songs I like from the songs remaining. One in particular that I absolutely love, but we have basically left the best behind.

Stats to consider for #17:
This next song is the last remaining song to have spent time in the bottom 10 doing so early on. However, it was able to fight its way back, make the top 20, and settle at its highest point. 3 people will get a perfecto here.
Best rankdown position: 17 Worst rankdown position: 45 Average position: 26.9 SD Rank: 13th highest Ranking distribution: Top 10s: 3 11 to 20s: 5 21 to 30s: 1 31 to 40s: 4 Bottom 10s: 1

Another top 20 finish for the artist we've seen the most of in Lost Hits. This song was able to outperform the other one we ranked from this album by 2 spots. #17

Surprised this couldn't even make the top 15, but I don't mind. It's a little overrated among Prince fans imo.

Stats to consider for #16:
A couple more top 5s will fall with this next reveal. Both of this song's bottom 10s were bottom 5s and somebody clears their bottom 10 too. This is the last song left to not have been in the top 10 at any point.

This song holds the unique honor of being the first in Billboard history to reach the top 20 on both the Rap Singles and Modern Rock charts. It also was able to go top 20 on the Dance chart as well. #16

Stats to consider for #15:
This next song was in the top 10 for a good portion of the rankdown before getting knocked out on the last day of submissions. This song received more top 10 rankings than any other song that missed the top 10. 3 people will lose a top 5 here while 2 others finally clear their bottom 10.
