How is WAP on its way to Diamond when it was certified 3x Platinum just a month ago, and is already by far peaked on streaming? Life Is Good's video streaming is definitely algorithm-based, but it was a monster in audio streaming too seeing as its the fourth most audio streamed song of 2020 behind The Box/Blinding Lights/Rockstar. Far from a false hit or some sort. Youβve been interested in the charts for so long and yet donβt know what eligibility is.. RIAA has absolutely zero to do with charts. Zero.

The βFinesseβ remix is one of the best hits in recent memory. Iβd love to have another high energy, 90s throwback cut from him. We need one right now. I wouldn't be surprised if Bruno released a G-Funk inspired track in his next era. I can see Bruno's next era having some G-funk as well as crunk influences. Not only it seems like a natural progression if he keeps riding the throwback wave, but also plays on a different subgenre than his peers, which will help him stand out. And of course, he has the raw charisma to pull it off. π₯° I would also be delighted to see collaborations with legacy acts, notably Janet Jackson and Lil Jon. There are endless possibilities, and it could help bring their names to the limelight again (and Lord knows how Janet deserves it!)

Its weird to me that that song is so huge yet itβs the only top 10 hit in years Iβve never heard it's "huge" only because of the stupid YT algorithm. They are literally forcing people to listen to the song... No one is being forced to watch the video. You can simply turn off your autoplay function or skip the video whenever it comes up. It's not the first and won't be the last video to benefit from YouTube's algorithm and that in no way takes away from it's success and performance.

All you had to do was look above and someone else literally explained itβs not on its way to Diamond at the moment lmao. Itβs at 5 million RIAA units and has already peaked months ago. You expect it do another 5 million in 2021?. Itβs not crossing Diamond for multiple years if it does end up doing so. Weβll wait to see what the year end stats say, cause he doesnβt know either. And wap is still doing well on streaming services, better than most recent #1s. Well here you have HitsDD Streaming Songs chart week 50/52. this is what oldbloke @ukmix has week 51/52
And i will leave you to guess how many Audio streams it has based on Rolling Stone Chart.
The Song has ~300k Digital Song sales.
So that is 300,000 + 480,000,000/150 = 3,500,000
So in order for it to be at 6.5M song units, it needs 450,000,000 Video Views from the US without counting UGC.
This is the number of Views from US including UGC:
So tell me how from 323M when you subtracts UGC you get 450M.
Songs like 'Without Me' / '7 rings' / 'bad guy' still haven't reached Diamond status, and honestly only 'bad guy' might reach it in 2021, the others in 22/23.
The only songs to reach Diamond Status eligibility in less than a year are: 'Candle In The Wind 97' , 'Old Town Road' & 'God's Plan' (it was either a few weeks under or a few weeks over a year, i don't remember clearly).
But the point is no song reaches Diamond status that fast. WAP isn't anywhere near the level of popularity those songs had. First few weeks were insane but afterwards it wasn't on that level.
I would put 'WAP' in the same boat as 'In My Feelings', a song that had insane streams for the first month/two or three and then the popularity faded quickly. IMF still isn't Diamond and i won't say it is close either. WAP should honestly have a bit better streaming longevity than IMF, but yeah...
IMF had like 600/700M+ UGC coming from the US. That is like almost 5 x Platinum UGC (ofc it doesn't count, but that damn dance challenge was popular).

Doing that is the equivalent of letting YouTube's algorithm play you whatever it wants. And you're right, it does function somewhat like playlists because while they exist, you don't have to use Spotify's curated playlists the same way you don't have to watch the Life Is Good video, despite it being favored by the algorithm.

"Life Is Good" is always there, no matter if I listen to alt rock, opera (lol) or classical music, Billie Eilish, Donna Summer or RHCP...and it's really annoying. agree, it's not the first or last video to benefit from algorithm, but it definitely got the most benefits, and even one year later(?), I don't see the point honestly. Like I said, I think it's a hit song, but those views aren't real.

Here are the records/milestones Blinding Lights would set if it re-entered at #3:
Highest re-entry ever (previous record: 4) Move from Top 10 to off the charts and then back to Top 10 in 4-week span Record-extending 34th week in the Top 5 and 43rd week in the Top 10 Pass Mack the Knife for #3 on Billboard's All Time list

If totc is accurate, we would've gotten a record low sales #1 if it wasn't for the huge bulk website buys for a certain song.

Not everyone has an account or bothers to find the switch to do so, and a lot of people just let it play in the background after selecting a gong to hear to start. Much like Spotify etc playlists. That has never really mattered. Whether you're logged in to your Google account or not, the autoplay option is always available to be toggled on or off. There's the autoplay option and then there's the up next option to see what videos are queued up to be played next. Many videos benefit from YouTube's algorithm. I wasn't denying that the video for Life Is Good has benefitted from YouTube's algorithm - it clearly has - I just don't believe that should take anything away from it's streaming success and I don't agree that anyone is being forced to watch the video when toggling on the autoplay function is the opposite of being forced to do anything. Doing that is the equivalent of letting YouTube's algorithm play you whatever it wants. Tell them. That post was giving bad energy like LIG wasn't doing very well on Spotify/AM in its peak. How can anyone like a post saying a Youtube is "forcing" people to listen to a song when the algorithm functions by letting Youtube users run up the views of a video by passive means. Glad you cleared that up, that comment was giving weird.

I've missed a lot, why is "Blinding Lights" being allowed to re-enter? Why not allow the third most popular song in the country to reenter? Plus with the Super Bowl Halftime show coming, it's got many more top ten weeks to come....

People need to lash out at the appropriate people and quote the actual posts they are lashing out at... all I said was some people don't bother trying to find and click off the auto play. Fact. Anything else implied from my post is simply that assumed.

Iconic Today, when we get 5 #1 hits in a month, none of them are charting at the same time because the #1 during the first or second week of the month is already off the charts by the time we get to the end of the month. And 35 years later: the whole top 6 is current or past number ones! dey- there was some style variety in that week's top 10, However, it was lacking black/R&B representation that particular week.

People need to lash out at the appropriate people and quote the actual posts they are lashing out at... all I said was some people don't bother trying to find and click off the auto play. Fact. Anything else implied from my post is simply that assumed. Facts! bigolefreak, quote me! I'm the one with the weird comments.

Oh that'll be great if Dua and Da Baby hit Top 10.

Surprised at how little Whole Lotta Red impacted the charts. Not even one song in the Top 60
