We say goodbye to viral artist (including that feature with Turnpike Troubadours as Republican's favorite artists) Zach Bryan at #38. He is definitely poised to break out soon. The sentiment of wanting to do so many things but life's limited in God Speed is weirdly resonating. It may feel more poignant since he mainly makes stripped down music, which again may not be many people's cup of tea but he finds his audience elsewhere. Kanenrá:ke loses a top 5, Daryl the Beryl loses a top 10 and @trilogy loses a top half rank.

The next song is my and somebody else's #40. There are no top 10 ranks lost but some top half ranks will be gone.

"Drink Til I See Double" is almost hilarious. "God Speed" has solid instrumentations I'm not exactly entertained by this guy's voice

Road That Goes Both Ways, produced by Dan Auerbach, has a classical production similar to Glen Campbell and etc. I also think Ashley McBryde sounds good in this. However, one song has to be my #40 and I found this lyrically a bit weak.

The melody in this is so pretty, and Ashley is such a great vocalist.

I may take a break to prepare for next 5 reveals after #36. I rank the next song low but I think this ends up a bit too low. No one's last place is gone and it has fourth lowest SD of the rankdown.

Never expect Liz Rose to have a good singing voice. I like the mentality of putting on a brave face to face the world as written in Swimming Alone. I'm really surprised this song got 4.75M total plays on Spotify tbh. Must be playlisting but probably good playlists. .indulgecountry loses a top 10 rank.

El Camino is awful. I could not even finish the song.
So I disliked Drink Till I See Double when I first heard it when editing Texas Country Chart video for my YouTube. But I tried the full song again, and it was far better than I expected. Their voice is bad, but I do enjoy the chorus melody. That surprise made me rank it a little high.
Some people recommended me Zach Bryan, but I just cannot get into him at all.
Dee White song is fine, but quite weak.
Swimming Alone in the bottom 5 is a bit surprising. I enjoyed this song moderately, good production. Not that I love this, but there are songs that should have left before this.

"Swimming Alone" was a sweet song. It's crazy how her singing voice sounds exactly like her talking voice. Maybe it's her accent? Idk, I just knew it was her before I even checked the name.

EXTRAS
I don't plan to feature the songs from the albums that had their songs selected for the two volumes of personal country rankdown in the future volumes, so here are some songs that I recommend to check out if you want to. Maybe some songs will perform better in this rankdown? Let me hear your thoughts! Elizabeth Cook - WelderRay Wylie Hubbard - Co-StarringZach Bryan - DeAnnDee White - Southern GentlemanLiz Rose - Swimming Alone

The song with Ashley McBryde could have made it a bit higher just cuz Ashley is in it and she's fantastic, but that Dee person had a horrendous voice so I would never listen to the song and I'm not really sad to see it go, lol.
The rest of the songs revealed thus far are awful, including "El Camino" but that one was at least a *little* catchy (her god-awful voice ruins it tho) so last place for it was a bit harsh, especially considering you had that "God Speed" song in it which may have been one of the worst songs and vocal performances that I've ever heard in my life, Zach Bryan's voice is putrid and he has like, no talent whatsoever lol. Tragic.
I couldn't make it thru the Ray Wylie Hubbard tune because the voices were all-around so terrible that saying it was like nails on a chalkboard to me isn't a strong enough comparison. Only thing I like from him is "Snake Farm" lol that song is just fun and quirky in all the right ways! Otherwise, hard pass on him and his voice.

Zach Bryan didn’t sound too great in “God Speed”, but I enjoy his current AAA single “Heading South” a good bit. I’m happy that it’s getting a decent amount of success over there so far.

"God Speed" was horrendous. Zach Bryan has a a putrid voice as LBTrocks said above. He sounded horrifically off-key the entire time. It was an insufferable listen. The Elizabeth Cook song was a rather wtf moment and the Ray Wylie Hubbard song was not that good either, but Ashley McBryde did some heavy lifting on the Dee White song enough to get into my top 20 even though his voice wasn't it. Liz Rose is a bit of a sad loss for me though, I really enjoyed her song.

And the results are going to be disappointing for some of you... Hopefully for Kanenrá:ke , because he told me he ranked "God Speed" high. at me getting the person right, but with an equally horrible song that he also happened to rank high

"El Camino" had no redeeming qualities. It was my very easy last place....until I got to Zach Bryan with the very last song of the playlist Elizabeth Cook chanting the whole song was just super annoying. Lol at Elizabeth Cook being the bottom 2. I agree that the Ray Wylie Hubbard song was rough all around, but it also had clever enough lyrics to sneak up my list a little bit. Like the reference to her having good taste because of her Reba McEntire tattoo, lmao. A lot of these songs had lyrics that killed me, and that was one of the primary examples. I will add to the chorus saying that Zach Bryan's performance here was just downright cringe-worthy. I felt like the song could be actually decent in the hands of a more compelling vocalist, but Zach sounded like he lost the middle school talent show. "Road That Goes Both Ways" was soooooooo boring. It got bonus points for Ashley because she truly is a compelling vocalist, but the song itself was still an easy bottom 10 for me. Might have been a bottom 5 if she hadn't brought a little bit of wind to its sails. "Swimming Alone" is the first loss here that is a little bit of a head-scratcher. This song is just so pleasant to listen to. It's easy-going, calming background music tbh. There wasn't a whole lot particularly memorable about it to make it stand out, which is why it was only 31 on my list, but it is still nothing I would ever go out of my way to avoid!

Diggin' Holes has an interesting motif. It ties the typical older sad country themes well and simple guitar riffs between verses is quite traditional, I feel like.

Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen continue neo-traditional branding on the new album and on Rhinestoned, they muse about the nostalgic nature and the fleeting tranquility from good old music. Their vocal chemistry is underrated.
I guess they are much lower in this volume because the competing songs are stronger?

This is a cute song about...flight anxiety. I never have it, but I understand the emotion of someone who may get it. It is kinda weird to hear klonopin, xanax and tramadol not in the context of drug abuse (or is it? ). And I think the topic and high notes piano are a kind of fun we need now.

Brent Cobb is fine, average to me.
But Randy Rogers deserves higher!! I thought I preferred "Hellbent" to "Hold My Beer, Vol. 2" but this is a decent song with solid production and melody, if not his best. Definitely better than their radio single "Rodeo Crown."
For the Extra above, those 2 songs by Cook are far better than El Camino. Still not my fav, but she wouldn't have been my #40 with those songs.

As someone who lives with anxiety on a daily basis and have since I was a kid, “Flight Anxiety” is definitely a song that I can relate to. This is lyrically similar in subject matter to Jason Isbell’s (alongside his wife Amanda Shires) “Anxiety” from The Nashville Sound which is better all around.
