Carrie Underwood - My Savior March 26, 2021
Tracklist confirmed, with one difference: she's not singing "Jesus Loves Me," it's an instrumental track.

so I am not a big fan of religious music in general but sometimes I can definitely enjoy them. I'm intrigued to hear Carrie's Gospel album but I'm not the least bit excited for it tbh. I'm more excited for Taylor's re-recorded albums to come out.

To think, since Carrie Underwood signed with Capitol Records in 2017, she has released a country album, a Christmas album, and now a gospel album. She could have done that at Arista (2005-2017).

When you pre-order Carrie's gospel album, the instant track is Softly and Tenderly.
Now if we could get some new music news from Reba, I would be happy.
Also still waiting on the new Sugarland music that was supposed to be out last year. Getting frustrated with Big Machine as they are constantly releasing new music from everyone on the label but Sugarland.

I personally think there is a correlation between Carrie switching labels and finally making two of the albums she has talked about for quite a long amount of time, especially given additional comments here and there about artistic freedom and such. I wouldn't say with 100% certainty she could have done that with Arista.

This page is starting off like a female country artist stan's wet dream. Taylor, Carrie, Kacey... oh my! I'd meant to comment on the Kacey news...needless to say, I am PERCHED. I've been waiting for so long since Golden Hour and since this has the same producers, I've got high expectations. And I'm ecstatic about the Taylor remasters!!! To think, since Carrie Underwood signed with Capitol Records in 2017, she has released a country album, a Christmas album, and now a gospel album. She could have done that at Arista (2005-2017). No she couldn't. She very consistently brought up about her artistic freedom during the Cry Pretty era. CP was the first album she was ever even offered to co-produce, and as such the first one she had a major say in the making of. Something tells me Sony/Arista would not ever have let her do My Gift/My Savior, at least not until the late 2030s, and certainly wouldn't have promoted them as heavily as UMG/Capitol has been. Carrie even went to Capitol herself as soon as the Cry Pretty tour was done, knowing what she wanted her seventh album to be, and said basically "hey so my next album is gonna be a Christmas record hope you're excited for that <3" When you pre-order Carrie's gospel album, the instant track is Softly and Tenderly. Now if we could get some new music news from Reba, I would be happy. S&T will be out at midnight tonight! It's already out in places like New Zealand. I'm very excited for that one as I've heard a snippet of it already. As for Reba, I saw somewhere around the middle of last year that she was planning for a Spring 2021 release? If we're lucky, her tour will still be starting in the summer, so having a new album as well would be a good thing to add to the setlist.

Taylor Swift - Fearless (Taylor's Version) April 9th. 26 songs. New version of Love Story will be released midnight. Tracklist according to the Apple Music pre-order: 1. Fearless (Taylor's Version) 2. Fifteen (Taylor's Version) 3. Love Story (Taylor's Version) 4. Hey Stephen (Taylor's Version) 5. White Horse (Taylor's Version) 6. You Belong With Me (Taylor's Version) 7. Breathe (ft. Colbie Caillat) (Taylor's Version) 8. Tell Me Why (Taylor's Version) 9. You're Not Sorry (Taylor's Version) 10. The Way I Loved You (Taylor's Version) 11. Forever & Always (Taylor's Version) 12. The Best Day (Taylor's Version) 13. Change (Taylor's Version) 14. Jump Then Fall (Taylor's Version) 15. Untouchable (Taylor's Version) 16. Forever & Always (Piano Version) (Taylor's Version) 17. Come In With The Rain (Taylor's Version) 18. Superstar (Taylor's Version) 19. The Other Side Of The Door (Taylor's Version) 20. Today Was A Fairytale (Taylor's Version) 21. Bonus Track 1 (From The Vault) 22. Bonus Track 2 (From The Vault) 23. Bonus Track 3 (From The Vault) 24. Bonus Track 4 (From The Vault) 25. Bonus Track 5 (From The Vault) 26. Bonus Track 6 (From The Vault) Maybe not especially newsworthy for those who are already familiar with the original album. But it basically has the 13 regular album tracks, followed by the 6 deluxe edition bonus tracks. "Today Was A Fairytale" is thrown on there as well, and that was not part of the original album!!!! It was released a couple years later on the soundtrack for Valentines Day. According to Wikipedia, Taylor wrote it in 2008, then shelved it for awhile because she didn't feel like it fit on the album she was working on, then jumped at the opportunity to release it as part of the movie because she felt like it would fit perfectly there! So while it was not on the album, it was written in the same time period. This tells me she is going to potentially be re-recording some of her extra non-album songs throughout this process as well, which will be really cool!! ("Babe" and "Better Man" potentially being thrown onto Red becomes a real possibility in light of this knowledge!!) And then of course the 6 brand new songs, which must have been shelved just like "Fairytale", but then didn't have the good luck of ending up in a movie down the line. It's also really interesting to me that she is redoing both the regular and piano versions of "Forever & Always". And also it looks like she must have gotten Colbie Caillat to re-record "Breathe" with her as well!! Basically, this series is going to be like every Taylor Stan's wildest dreams all coming true 😂

Tracy Lawrence- Hindsight 2020Tracy Lawrence is celebrating his 30th anniversary in country music this year, and to mark the career milestone, he’s releasing a special project, Hindsight 2020. The three-volume album has 30 tracks and will be released throughout 2021. The career-encompassing project is a combination of brand new material, collaborations, and some of Lawrence’s favorite hits. The first in the series, Volume 1: Stairway to Heaven Highway to Hell, will be released on April 23. This 10-song collection features all new material from Lawrence, who penned nine of the 10 tracks, mixing his signature blend of contemporary and traditional country that has made him a mainstay since his debut album, Sticks & Stones, in 1991. Ahead of the full album, Lawrence will release new music every two weeks on his socials. The title track from Volume 1, “Stairway to Heaven Highway to Hell,” is available now. “It has truly been the honor of a lifetime to be so welcomed by country music fans,” says Lawrence. “As I look back over the past 30 years, I am incredibly humbled to have been able to live my dream and to have so many folks support me along the way. I wanted to celebrate this amazing milestone with fond reflection and embrace the next chapter with the people who made it all happen, my fans.” musicrow.com/2021/02/tracy-lawrence-commemorates-30-years-in-country-with-three-volume-project-hindsight-2020/

Why is Taylor releasing so many records? This will be the fourth one in two years. I guess the world can't get enough of Taylor She's re-recording and reissuing all of her records from the Big Machine years because her masters were sold out from under her by the label to Scooter Braun and in order to keep him from profiting off her back catalog, she is able to release new versions of all her old material and if the fans pivot to buying/streaming the updated releases instead of the originals, it greatly reduces the cash flow that they are able to make off Taylor Swift's music. She isn't just doing this for shits and giggles, in other words. There is purpose behind it and she is sticking it to the man, basically. Idk how fast she'll be able to crank all of these out, but the goal is for her to produced new versions of every album released prior to Lover.

Why is Taylor releasing so many records? This will be the fourth one in two years. I guess the world can't get enough of Taylor It's not like this one or any of the next five are brand-new outside of a few extra songs, lol. She likely never wanted to re-record to begin with--who wants to do that, especially for six albums? Doing that is so expensive, even for someone with as much money as Taylor, let alone time-consuming as hell because you have to make the new versions identical to the old versions in order to devalue the old versions. She wanted (and deserved) to own her original masters even after Scooter Braun bought them, despite knowing she was going to re-record because that was really the only option for her, but he was only going to let her own those original masters if she signed an NDA. That's manipulation, gaslighting, and silencing at its most despicable and she was not going to have that, rightfully so. So this is where we are. It's sad that she has to do this in order to own her music, but it's going to be a treat for her die-hard, lifelong fans who actually will own BOTH versions of her first six albums, as well as an inspiring moment and hopefully a precedent of change for artists in the fight for them to own their masters from the moment they sign their first record deal.

In a way I find her re recording her albums so intriguing. It’s like she’s releasing a glorified greatest hits album. What a treat.

Artist: Lilly Winwood Album: Time Well Spent Label: Indie Release date: January 29, 2021 My much-too-early winner for new music discovery of the year here has to go to Lilly Winwood and her new album, Time Well Spent. The quick bio always refers to her as legendary rock artist Steve Winwood's daughter, but her musical stylings lean more towards Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt or Holly Williams than anything her dad ever put out. The bluesy, moody album allows Winwood’s wise-beyond-her-years tone and resilient lyrics to shine through nearly every track. A little more about this new-to-us artist from her website bio: "After feeling that the countryside of her native Gloucestershire, England felt too familiar, and London was, in her own words, “so big, so expensive, and reeked of havoc and loss and all that good stuff,” she decided to spend a few weeks in Nashville, where she spent her childhood summers, but ended up staying instead. Winwood’s debut EP, Silver Stage, chronicled the journey through earnest coming-of-age narratives and a sound that—much like her father’s work—offers an English take on traditional American roots music. Backed by Nashville-via-Australia producer Joshua Barber (Gotye, Archie Roach), the songs on Silver Stage blend Bonnie Raitt’s world-weary vocals, My Morning Jacket’s ethereal twang, and Brittany Howard’s no-bulls**t bravado to create an EP that pays homage to Lilly’s singer-songwriter idols (like John Prine) and establishes the twenty-one-year-old as a writer that’s wise beyond her years. Following the release of Silver Stage, Winwood has continued on to collaborate with fellow East-Nashville-based Americana artists such as Boo Ray, with the release of their A-side/ B-side vinyl collaboration. Lilly also collaborated with Nashville based Americana artist Don Gallardo on his 7-track EP In the Name of Good Intentions where Lilly’s vocals are featured on more than half of the songs. Rolling Stone deemed Winwood and Gallardo’s “Shine a Light on Me” one of the Top 10 Best Country, Americana songs to hear now in 2019, amongst Trisha Yearwood and Tanya Tucker. Lilly has set her debut album release Time Well Spent for early 2021. This record was produced by Alex Munoz and Allen Thompson in Nashville, TN at High Cotton Recording Studio."

Why is Taylor releasing so many records? This will be the fourth one in two years. I guess the world can't get enough of Taylor The re-recording versions more or less devalue the original records as all the re-recording WILL be the ones licensed for anything in the future as Taylor owns songwriting rights needed to allow recordings to be used. quote author=" fisherwoodcu" source="/post/7798606/thread" timestamp="1613062509"] To think, since Carrie Underwood signed with Capitol Records in 2017, she has released a country album, a Christmas album, and now a gospel album. I wouldn't say with 100% certainty she could have done that with Arista. [/quote] As long as Carrie stayed with Sony, it was 19/Arista. I feel confident in saying the 19 part of that label prevented the passion projects beyond live, bonus and EP sized endeavors.

It sounds like Shania’s next album is done. So far we know she’s worked with David Baron (The Lumineers, Lenny Kravitz, Shawn Mendes) and Tyler Joseph (lead singer of Twenty One Pilots). This interview suggests the album is done and that we will also get a Christmas single too. hudsonvalleyone.com/2021/02/15/making-records-david-baron/

I just wonder if Shania did co-writes like she said she would after Now (she mentioned Sia at one point) or if she wrote it solo again. Personally, I love her solo work because that makes her stand out from the crowd. I know people said lyrically Now didn't hold up to her old work but honestly she's always had tongue-in-cheek lyrics. It's just who she is.
