Ahh feels good for the charts to be shoved down for an album bomb again. This week on Khan's Global 200 updates, The Weeknd and Gunna conquer the planet. Interestingly, this means a majority of the top twenty is Canadian! They always sneak up on you, don't they? docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- There's only one fun new peak to report, and only on the Excl. US chart, too. Jnr Choi and his viral song "To the Moon" with the funny cover art continued to gain in points this week. Because of the double album bomb on the main chart, the song moved down there, but the Gambia has now broken into the top hundred (to #90 even) on the Excl. US chart because of the slower competition there! - The rest of the news is Jan. 22nd specifics, but there's some interesting stuff here for sure. • For the first time in a long, long time, "Stay" is no longer the top Canadian or Australian song on either chart. The Weeknd and Pnau have finally stepped onto the shoulders of The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber. • China and India, whose music industries you'd think should be bigger on this chart, are both back on the main Global 200. China returns through a member of new breakout K-pop group Kep1er (which debuted on the Excl. US last week) and India through—take a guess—a Bollywood soundtrack contribution by one Indravathi Chauhan. • Tiago PZK replaces himself for top Argentine song. I forgot to mention it last time, but the popular Bzrp Music Sessions series that features a lot of artists from Argentina finally got a top spot for the week on the chart for Argentina through a volume with rapper Tiago PZK. Now a remix of his song "Entre Nosotros" with several other Argentine artists has blasted back onto the charts at a high spot on both. • The other story of an artist replacing themselves this week is King Gnu for Japan, who knock their "Ichizu" out of the way with their "Sakayume", both theme songs for a Jujutsu Kaisen movie. tried out a new format for the weekly specifics to make it easier to read. Hope it helps!

"abcdefu" leads the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. surveys for a third week each.
GAYLE‘s debut hit “abcdefu” continues as the biggest song in the world, as it logs a third week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Jan. 29).
Meanwhile, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” from Disney’s Encanto, jumps to No. 2 on the Global 200, and Imagine Dragons and JID‘s “Enemy” reaches the Global Excl. U.S. top five.
Billboard‘s two global charts (which in September marked their first year) rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.
Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.
‘abcdefu,’ ‘Bruno’ Nos. 1 & 2 on Global 200
“abcdefu” by Dallas-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter GAYLE adds a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 58.3 million streams (down 1%) and sold 16,100 (down 8%) worldwide in the Jan. 14-20 tracking week.
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo (both from Colombia), Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz (all from the U.S.) and the Encanto cast, surges 6-2 on the Global 200, with 57.7 million streams (up 14%) and 13,500 sold (up 18%) worldwide.
The song is from the soundtrack to Disney’s Encanto, which returns to No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard 200 album chart, after the set became the first soundtrack to reign since December 2019 and only the sixth animated film soundtrack to lead since the list began in March 1956.
Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” rebounds to its No. 3 Global 200 high, from No. 4; Adele’s “Easy on Me” dips 3-4, after six weeks at the summit; and The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” keeps at No. 5, after a record 11 weeks at No. 1.
‘abcdefu’ Atop Global Excl. U.S., Top Five Is ‘Enemy’ Territory
GAYLE’s “abcdefu” likewise leads the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a third week, with 44.6 million streams (essentially even week over week) and 7,000 sold (down 4%) outside the U.S. in the Jan. 14-20 tracking week.
Nos. 2 through 4 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart also hold in place: Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix),” at its No. 2 high; The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay,” at No. 3, following its record-tying nine weeks on top (matching the reign of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” in 2021); and Adele’s “Easy on Me,” at No. 4, after seven weeks on top.
Rounding out the Global 200’s top five, Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” reaches the tier (7-5), with 40 million streams (up 3%) and 1,900 sold (up 4%) outside the U.S. The song, each act’s first top five hit on the tally, is from the soundtrack to Netflix’s animated series Arcane: League of Legends, which premiered in November. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Jan. 29) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Jan. 25). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. This time on Khan's weekly Global 200, we have a sudden new country, one of the oldest peaks on the chart being broken, and lots of upwards movement from the fallout of the double album bomb! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Let's start with the most topical country at the moment, Colombia. The peak for Colombia has been long, LONG held by Maluma, one of their biggest superstars. His song "Hawái" was the very first song to top the Excl. US chart, and that same song has held Colombia's peak on the main chart at #3 ever since the Weeknd remix came out shortly after the chart began. Of course, no one can take his peak on the Excl. US, but that peak on the main Global 200 has finally been bested after a year and then some by Encanto, a movie all about Colombian culture that he himself makes a cameo appearance in. "We Don't Talk About Bruno" makes it to #2 this week, knocking out Maluma for top Colombian song of all time there, due to two of the actors who sing on it being Colombian. (Pepa's and Félix's voice actors, if you were wondering.) - Also new country! A new Turkish song by one Mustafa Ceceli makes a low debut on the Excl. US chart this week. He represents Turkey, which has a much higher peak, but he also brought on Azerbaijani singer Nigar Muharrem to toss the almost European almost Asian country of Azerbaijan onto the count for the first time at #130. - Small win for the Gambia this week, as Jnr Choi's "To the Moon" keeps slowly rising up from those viral gains on both charts, achieving #92 and #80 on the main chart and Excl. US chart respectively. - And let's end with that nice Jan. 29th specific news. • Gesaffelstein replaces Daft Punk for biggest French song in the world, coincidentally another old dance track that features The Weeknd. • India's new biggest song replaces another song from the same film soundtrack. • Aimer and Elton John/Dua Lipa retake the Japanese and English crowns.

GAYLE‘s debut hit “abcdefu” remains the biggest song in the world, as it notches a fourth week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Feb. 5, 2022).
Plus, Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” hits the top five of the surveys for the first time, while Jessica Darrow‘s “Surface Pressure,” from Disney’s Encanto, and Gunna and Future‘s “Pushin P,” featuring Young Thug, each reach the Global 200’s top 10.

‘abcdefu,’ No. 1 on Global 200, ‘Encanto’ Enchants Top 10
“abcdefu” by Dallas-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter GAYLE adds a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 56.1 million streams (down 4%) and sold 12,700 (down 21%) worldwide in the Jan. 21-27 tracking week.
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast, holds at its No. 2 Global 200 high and Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” is steady at its No. 3 best.
As previously reported, “Bruno” crowns the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100 for the first time.
Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” ranks in the Global 200’s top five for the first time, rising 6-4 in its 56th week on the chart, as it completes the longest trip to the region so far (surpassing the 29-week trek for Dua Lipa’s “Levitating”). The British band’s track, which completed a record 42-week climb to the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100’s top 10 in November, drew 50 million streams (down 1%) and sold 4,700 (down 6%) globally in the tracking week.
Rounding out the Global 200’s top five, The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” repeats at No. 5, after a record 11 weeks at No. 1.
Jessica Darrow’s “Surface Pressure” bubbles up to the Global 200’s top 10, jumping 13-9 with 39.3 million streams (up 2%) and 9,200 sold (down less than 1%) worldwide. The actress-singer, and voice of Encanto character Luisa Madrigal, lands her first top 10 on the chart.
Both “Bruno” and “Pressure” are from the soundtrack to Disney’s Encanto, which logs a third week at No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard 200.
Gunna and Future’s “Pushin P,” featuring Young Thug, also enters the Global 200 top 10, rising 12-10 with 33.7 million streams (up 5%) and 1,100 sold (down 16%) globally. Gunna and Future each achieve their second Global 200 top 10 and Young Thug posts his third; In September, Future and Young Thug hit No. 2 on the tally together as featured on Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy.”
‘abcdefu’ Also Atop Global Excl. U.S.
GAYLE’s “abcdefu” likewise leads the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a fourth week, with 43.1 million streams (down 3%) and 5,900 sold (down 15%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Jan. 21-27 tracking week.
Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” is steady at its No. 2 Global Excl. U.S. high; The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” keeps at No. 3, following its record-tying nine weeks on top (matching the rule of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” in 2021); and Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” lifts 5-4 for a new best.
As on the Global 200, Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” hits the Global Excl. U.S. top five for the first time, advancing 7-5 in its 54th week on the chart, likewise wrapping the longest climb to the tier (again, over Dua Lipa’s 29-week journey with “Levitating”). “Heat Waves” drew 37.2 million streams and sold 1,800 (down 1% in each metric) outside the U.S. in the tracking week.
The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Feb. 5) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Feb. 1). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. Another week, another weekly update from Khan on the Global 200. This week really exemplifies that the Global 200 and the Global 200 Excl. US are very different charts. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Some sudden news first. Sometimes I miss someone's nationality, and this time Cuba suffered for it. Camila Cabello has been the only Cuban to chart so far according to my chart, but it seems I missed a certain newcomer. Olga Merediz, a Cuban actress who features on two Encanto songs, should have counted for Cuba for a few weeks now. Luckily I caught this on a very important week: when "The Family Madrigal" outpeaks "Don't Go Yet" for the highest Cuban song in the Global 200's history, going all the way up to #22. On the Excl. US, it's barely in the top hundred, showing how Encanto is a mostly American phenomenon. - Belgium has a real sleeper hit on its hands! Almost half a year into its run, "Where Are You Now" just keeps gaining, beating its old peak on the Excl. US by one spot and bringing Belgium to #17. On the main chart, that song went down this week and hasn't even hit the top thirty yet, cuz Americans just don't like dancing sadly. - So what are our specifics for the week of Feb. 5th? • The Gambia drops out of both charts because of Jnr Choi's sudden disappearance. This is notable because he and "To the Moon" should be back next week. Turns out he didn't clear that sample before going viral and he was totally nuked from all legal music services for a week, but it's back up now. Other dropouts include India on the main chart and Turkey, Azerbaijan, Guyana, and Kazakhstan on the Excl. US. • Sean Paul finally takes back the crown of biggest Jamaican song on the Excl. US chart this week because of his old hit "No Lie" with Dua Lipa. • "Thunder" which is Austria's biggest song this week is almost in the top half of the Excl. US without touching the main chart!

Plus, GAYLE's "abcdefu" adds a fifth week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto cast, from Disney’s hit film Encanto, ascends to No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 (dated Feb. 12).
Meanwhile, GAYLE‘s debut hit “abcdefu” posts a fifth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno.’ But …
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” rises from No. 2 to No. 1 for its first week atop the Billboard Global 200. The song drew 69.3 million streams (up 10%) and sold 19,000 (up 8%) worldwide in the Jan. 28-Feb. 3 tracking week.
Gaitán and Castillo become the first artists from Colombia to top the Global 200; Adassa, Feliz, Guerrero and Beatriz are all from the U.S. (with all singing as the characters that they voice in Encanto).
The song, which Lin-Manuel Miranda solely wrote and co-produced with Mike Elizondo, also hits the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, rising 11-9 with 32.4 million streams (up 14%) and 4,400 sold (up 2%) outside the U.S. in the tracking week.
As previously reported, “Bruno” spends a second week at No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100, while its parent album, the Encanto soundtrack, logs a fourth week at No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard 200.
GAYLE’S “abcdefu” slips to No. 2 after four weeks atop the Billboard Global 200; Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” pushes 4-3 for a new high; Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” retreats to No. 4 from its No. 3 best; and The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” holds at No. 5, after a record 11 weeks at No. 1.
‘abcdefu’ Adds Fifth Week Atop Global Excl. U.S. GAYLE’s “abcdefu” tops the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a fifth week, with 42.1 million streams (down 3%) and 6,400 sold (down 5%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Jan. 28-Feb. 3 tracking week. Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” holds at its No. 2 Global Excl. U.S. high; Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” climbs 5-3 for a new best; The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” drops 3-4, following its record-tying nine weeks on top (matching the reign of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” in 2021); and Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” falls to No. 5 from its No. 4 highpoint. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Feb. 12) will update on Billboard.com Tuesday (Feb. 8). This week on Khan's Global 200 updates, I changed my chart a bit to keep it readable with the ridiculous crediting on WDTAB. Also like way more new peaks than I expected. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- It is MY spreadsheet and I am allowed to be biased. The coolest country in Latin America, mi encanto Colombia, has finally achieved a feat few other countries have. "We Don't Talk About Bruno" has risen to #1 on the main chart, giving Colombia a chart topper on both global charts! More impressively, only they and New Zealand have done it with two entirely different songs like this. This happens to also give the United States a new #1 because of how most credited actors on the song are American. Of course, on the Excl. US chart it only barely reached the top ten because American listening habits are mega isolated right now. - Belgium's sleeper hit is waking up. "Where Are You Now" is not stalling at all in its slow rise over the past several months, achieving yet another set of small new peaks for Belgium on both charts, #30 on the main chart and #16 on the Excl. US chart. - As I predicted last week, "To the Moon" is back after getting those sampling issues resolved and being placed back on streaming services, now crediting the English singer who is being sampled in it. Jnr Choi can once again represent the Gambia on the chart, and the virality has now slowed down. There's new Gambian peaks at #79 on the main chart and #70 on the Excl. US. - Only on the main chart, Cuba gets a treat. "The Family Madrigal" has kept rising, putting Cuba at #20 for the first time ever due to the presence of Olga Merediz. - February 12th? February 12th. • I'm pretty sure "Wa Da Da" is now the longest charting song with a Chinese artist so far. • Yung Lean is Swedish, so his viral track's knocked out SHM for the top global song from there. • "Heat Waves" will never die, and now its the global biggest British song!

Plus, new top 10s for Nicki Minaj & Lil Baby and Mahmood & BLANCO.
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast, from Disney’s hit film Encanto, spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200.
Meanwhile, GAYLE‘s debut hit “abcdefu” adds a sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Plus, Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby‘s “Do We Have a Problem?” launches at No. 7 on the Global 200 and Mahmood and BLANCO’s “Brividi” blasts from No. 67 to No. 7 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.
The two charts (which in September marked their first year) rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Truth and the Whole Truth … ‘Bruno’ “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast, logs a second week atop the Billboard Global 200. The song, which Lin-Manuel Miranda solely wrote and co-produced with Mike Elizondo, drew 65.3 million streams (down 6%) and sold 12,900 (down 32%) worldwide in the Feb. 4-10 tracking week. As previously reported, “Bruno” tallies a third week at No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100, while its parent album, the Encanto soundtrack, logs a fifth week at No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard 200. The rest of the Global 200’s top five likewise holds in place. In order: GAYLE’S “abcdefu” at No. 2, after four weeks at No. 1; Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” at its No. 3 high; Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” at No. 4, after reaching No. 3; and The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” at No. 5, after a record 11 weeks at No. 1. Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby’s “Do We Have a Problem?” soars onto the chart at No. 7, with 36.2 million streams and 38,700 sold worldwide in its first week, following its Feb. 4 release. The song is Minaj’s first Global 200 top 10 (over the chart’s nearly year-and-a-half existence) and Lil Baby’s fifth. ‘abcdefu’ Scores Sixth Week Atop Global Excl. U.S. GAYLE’s “abcdefu” rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a sixth week, with 40.1 million streams (down 5%) and 5,900 sold (down 9%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Feb. 4-10 tracking week. “abcdefu” now solely boasts the fifth-longest Global Excl. U.S. reign to-date, after The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” (nine weeks each); BTS’ “Dynamite” (eight); and Adele’s “Easy on Me” (seven). Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” rises 3-2 for a new Global Excl. U.S. best; Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” dips to No. 3 from its No. 2 high; Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” rebounds to its No. 4 highpoint from No. 5; and The Kid LAROI and Bieber’s “Stay” drops 4-5. Also in the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, Mahmood and BLANCO’s “Brividi” bounds 67-7 with 36.5 million streams and 7,800 sold worldwide following its first full week of tracking. The ballad by the two Italian artists, each in the chart’s top 10 for the first time, was entered into the Sanremo Music Festival, Italy’s tournament (this year held Feb. 1-5) that determines the country’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. Having won at Sanremo, the song is set to next face Eurovision competition May 10-14 in Turin, Italy. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Feb. 19) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Feb. 15). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. Another week, another Global 200 update from Khan. Love this week! So many movements... docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- I'll start off with a mistake I made a while ago that I'm only now rectifying. K-pop group Aespa actually has a Chinese member in Ningning, and their song "Savage" actually hit some really high highs of #39 on the main chart and #24 on the Excl. US. That means they've held the highest peak for a Chinese song at those two positions on both charts since October, and I apologize for missing Ningning there. By me fixing this mistake on the sheet, they "take" the Chinese peak from fellow K-pop group Exo. - Trinidad and Tobago gets a big boost this week, for obvious reasons. Nicki Minaj's previous main chart peak in "Seeing Green" is now bested by her newest single, "Do We Have a Problem?" with Lil Baby, which puts Trinidad and Tobago in the top ten of the main chart for the first time ever. On the Excl. US, Nicki Minaj's extremely old peak with "Tusa" is finally broken, and the island nation gets into the top fifty there for the first time. - Belgium stays put on the Excl. US as "Where Are You Now" does not move this week, but the rise hasn't stopped on the main chart. The Belgians get a new all-time peak of #28 on that chart, two spots above last time. - The Gambia has the same news as the last several weeks. "To the Moon" hasn't stopped going TikTok viral, so Gambian Jnr Choi has got a new peak of #67 and #60 on the main chart and Excl. US respectively. - And now the February 19th specifics, as usual. • Italy! Because of the pre-Eurovision Sanremo festival, a bunch of Italian songs hit both charts today. "Brividi" by Mahmood and Blanco in the top ten of both charts means Måneskin doesn't have the biggest Italian song in the world for the first time in a while. - "Heat Waves" is now the biggest British song on both charts. Terrifying longevity...

Plus, new top 10s for Becky G & Karol G; Ed Sheeran & Taylor Swift; and BTS' Jung Kook.
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast, from Disney’s hit film Encanto, adds a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart.
Meanwhile, GAYLE‘s debut hit “abcdefu” notches a seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Plus, Becky G and Karol G’s “MAMIII” launches at No. 7 on the Global 200 and No. 10 on Global Excl. U.S.; Ed Sheeran’s “The Joker and the Queen” re-enters the Global 200 at No. 10, reaching the top tier for the first time following the arrival of its remix featuring Taylor Swift; and BTS’ Jung Kook earns his first Global Excl. U.S. top 10 as “Stay Alive” starts at No. 8.
The two charts (which in September marked their first year) rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data.
‘Bruno’ Tops Global 200 for Third Week
The magic is still strong for “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast, as it tallies a third week atop the Billboard Global 200. The ensemble song, which Lin-Manuel Miranda solely wrote and co-produced with Mike Elizondo, drew 59.1 million streams (down 9%) and sold 11,100 (down 13%) worldwide in the Feb. 11-17 tracking week.
As previously reported, “Bruno” posts a fourth week at No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100, while its parent album, the Encanto soundtrack, extends its command to a sixth week on the U.S.-based Billboard 200.
The rest of the Global 200’s top five is likewise stationary, with GAYLE’S “abcdefu” at No. 1.
Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, Becky G and Karol G’s “MAMIII” soars in at No. 7 with 56.1 million streams and 7,700 sold worldwide in its first full tracking week, following its Feb. 10 release. The song, the first collaboration between the American and Colombian artists, respectively, also bows at No. 10 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart with 39.4 million streams and 1,100 sold outside the U.S.
Becky G achieves her first top 10 on the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. Karol G adds her second, after her own “Bichota” rose to Nos. 7 and 5 on the respective lists in January 2021.
Plus, Ed Sheeran’s “The Joker and the Queen” re-enters the Global 200 at No. 10, reaching the top tier for the first time following the Feb. 10 arrival of its remix featuring Taylor Swift. (The song, originally by Sheeran solo, spent one prior week on the ranking, dated Nov. 13, 2021, at No. 99, concurrent with the chart start of his album =.)
The ballad returns to the Global 200 with 31.1 million streams and 22,800 sold worldwide in the tracking week. Sheeran scores his third top 10 on the chart and Swift earns her fourth.
Sworn Statement: ‘abcdefu’ Atop Global Excl. U.S. for Seventh Week
GAYLE’s “abcdefu” dominates the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a seventh week, with 38.4 million streams (down 4%) and 5,400 sold (down 8%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Feb. 11-17 tracking week.
“abcdefu” ties Adele’s “Easy on Me” for the fourth-longest Global Excl. U.S. reign, after The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” (nine weeks each) and BTS’ “Dynamite” (eight).
As on the Global 200, the top five songs on Global Excl. U.S. all repeat their ranks from a week earlier, with Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” at its No. 2 best; Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” at No. 3, after climbing to No. 2; Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” at its No. 4 highpoint; and The Kid LAROI and Bieber’s “Stay” at No. 5.
Additionally in the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, BTS’ Jung Kook earns his first solo top 10 as “Stay Alive” roars in at No. 8 with 25.7 million streams and 30,400 sold outside the U.S. in its first week, following its Feb. 11 release. The song – which BTS’ Suga co-wrote and co-produced – brings Jung Kook to the Global Excl. U.S. top 10 in his first solo visit to the chart; South Korea’s BTS, with Jung Kook as a member, has tallied seven top 10s on the survey, a mark that ties the group with Justin Bieber for the most so far, including a leading five No. 1s. (Among BTS’ other members, Jimin hit No. 67 on Global Excl. U.S. in November with “Yours”; Suga reached at No. 55 in December with “Girl of My Dreams,” with Juice WRLD; and V jingled to No. 43 in January with “Christmas Tree.”) The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Feb. 26) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Feb. 23). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

Another week of updates from Khan on the Global 200! We've got two new countries to talk about for two very different reasons. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Remember that "Iko Iko" song from last year that went viral because it talked about besties? It's already on my sheet because it features Solomon Islands band Small Jam. However, I've recently become aware that the lead artist on that song, Justin Wellington, is from Papua New Guinea, the Pacific island nation that takes up the east half of the island of New Guinea. I thought he was Australian, so he was never included in my sheet. Him being from Papua New Guinea means a new nation is being retroactively added under the "Iko Iko" entry! Can you blame me for my mistake? He's white and his name is Justin... - The other new nation to discuss is only on the main chart. The fallout from the Super Bowl show means that Eminem's back catalog got a big boost of streams this week. Despite not being performed at the game at all, "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna debuted at #185 on the Global 200. (A similar performance-less boost and debut happened to "Stan", "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang", and "Humble") Rihanna is so Barbadian that she was declared a national hero of the republic last year. Because of her... hiatus... Rihanna has never debuted on the Global 200 'til now, which puts Barbados on the chart for the first time. She actually does have some Excl. US presence from when "Umbrella" charted there for a bit last year. - Feb 26th specific news time. • The reign of "My Universe" as the biggest Korean song is again temporarily interrupted by BTS. This time, it's Jungkook's solo song debuting high in the top twenty of both charts. • Nicki Minaj replaces herself for Trinidadian leader on both charts... duh. • Against all Encanto odds, Karol G's new song with Becky G is the biggest Colombian hit on the Excl. Us right now. • Japan is back in the top 20 of the Excl. US chart for the first time in months with a Demon Slayer track because I guess Demon Slayer is their Saturday Night Fever at this point.

Glass Animals’ ‘Heat Waves’ Hits No. 1 on Billboard Global 200 Chart Meanwhile, GAYLE's "abcdefu" leads the Global Excl. U.S. survey for an eighth week.
By Gary Trust
Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” sizzles at No. 1 for its first week atop the Billboard Global 200 chart.
Meanwhile, GAYLE‘s debut hit “abcdefu” adds an eighth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Plus, Becky G and Karol G’s “MAMIII” reaches the top five of both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts and Rauw Alejandro and Chencho Corleone’s “Desesperados” enters the Global Excl. U.S. top 10.
The two charts (which in September marked their first year) rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data.
‘Heat Waves’ Is Hottest on Global 200 Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” rises from No. 3 to No. 1 for its first week atop the Billboard Global 200 chart. The song drew 55 million streams and sold 5,000 (down 1% in each metric) worldwide in the Feb. 18-24 tracking week.
The song by the British quartet – the band’s Dave Bayley wrote and produced the song solo – crowns the Global 200 in its 60th week on the chart, more than tripling the prior longest such ascent: The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears” took 17 weeks before leading the list dated May 8, 2021, following the release of its remix adding Ariana Grande.
Released in June 2020, “Heat Waves” subsequently gained prominence on TikTok, playing off its “all I think about is you” lyrical hook, and trended especially strongly in late summer 2021, including via a clip from the band itself. (In the U.S., the song has also steadily scored radio success at multiple formats, topping Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart for three weeks in March-April 2021 before leading Pop Airplay for two weeks beginning this January.)
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast, from Disney’s hit animated film Encanto, dips to No. 2 after three weeks atop the Global 200.
GAYLE’S “abcdefu” drops 2-3 on the Global 200, after four weeks at No. 1; Becky G and Karol G’s “MAMIII” surges 7-4 in its second week on the chart, up 13% to 63.2 million streams worldwide; and Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” retreats 4-5, after reaching No. 3.
‘abcdefu’ Atop Global Excl. U.S. for Eighth Week
GAYLE’s “abcdefu” rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for an eighth week, with 36.1 million streams (down 6%) and 5,300 sold (down 2%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Feb. 18-24 tracking week.
“Abcdefu” ties BTS’ “Dynamite” for the third-longest Global Excl. U.S. reign, after The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” each dominated for nine weeks.
Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” holds at its No. 2 Global Excl. U.S. best; Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” repeats at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” holds at its No. 4 high; and Becky G and Karol G’s “MAMIII” jumps 10-5 in its second frame on the chart, up 25% to 49.4 million streams outside the U.S.
Additionally, Puerto Rico’s Rauw Alejandro and Chencho Corleone’s “Desesperados” ascends to the Global Excl. U.S. top 10 (12-10), up 2% to 32.4 million streams outside the U.S.
Alejandro achieves his second Global Excl. U.S. top 10, after “Todo de Ti” rose to No. 3 last June, while Corleone earns his first. (The pair previously charted together with “El Efecto,” which ranked at its No. 124 best on the inaugural Global Excl. U.S. tally in September 2020; Corleone previously was half of reggaeton duo Plan B, which tallied 11 entries on the U.S.-based Hot Latin Songs chart in 2006-17.)
The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated March 5, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (March 1). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. Very few debuts on the Global 200 compared to most weeks this week, but there's still news to report about. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Only one new national peak to speak of this time, and it's just Belgium again. Lost Frequencies has got a serious sleeper hit on his hands, and it's slowing down but certainly not stopping. "Where Are You Now" reaches a new high of #15 on the Excl US chart, and it happens to repeak at #28 on the main Global 200, too. - The other big news of the week is the brand new #1 on the main chart! If you wanna talk about sleeper hits, look no further than "Heat Waves" by English band Glass Animals hitting the top of the chart in its 60th week. That's the fourth British song to top the chart. If my count is right, this moves it past Australia and gives the UK the third most chart-toppers, after the USA and South Korea. Not bad for a country that started 2021 with three unlucky blocked #2 peaks in a row. - And now the March 5th exclusive news! • The very longstanding Puerto Rican leader "Pepas" is knocked off as the top Puertorriqueño song in the world by "Desesperados" by Rauw Alejandro and Chencho Corleone. • Christian Nodal's new single immediately surpasses Julieta Venegas's old song with Bad Bunny to become the biggest Mexican song of the week. • Turkish pop star Tarkan finally debuts on the global charts with his new single. He's big enough that he's the only Turkey-based musician I'd heard of before I started paying attention to the global charts, so I'm surprised he's only debuting now. • "My Universe" and "Beggin'" recapture their titles as biggest Korean and Italian singles of the world due to the huge debuts of "Stay Alive" and "Brividi" quickly petering out.

"abcdefu" leads the Global Excl. U.S. survey for a record-tying ninth week.
Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” tops the Billboard Global 200 chart for a second week, while GAYLE‘s “abcdefu” notches a ninth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. ranking.
Notably, “abcdefu” ties for the most weeks spent atop Global Excl. U.S. since the list launched in September 2020.
The two charts rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data.
‘Heat’ Intensifies Atop Global 200
Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” tallies a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. The song drew 54.8 million streams (essentially even week-over-week) and sold 4,800 (down 5%) worldwide in the Feb. 25-March 3 tracking week.
As previously reported, the song by the British quartet – the band’s Dave Bayley wrote and produced the song solo – hits No. 1 on the U.S.-focused, streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100. The track tops the Hot 100 in its 59th week on the chart, completing the longest climb to No. 1, a week after it wrapped an unprecedented 60-week climb to the top of the Global 200.
GAYLE’S “abcdefu” rebounds 3-2 on the Global 200, after four weeks at No. 1; “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast, from Disney’s hit animated film Encanto, dips 2-3, after three weeks at No. 1; Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” rises 5-4, after hitting No. 3; and Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” reaches the top five for the first time, pushing 6-5.
Record-Tying Spell for ‘abcdefu’ Atop Global Excl. U.S.
GAYLE’s “abcdefu” leads the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a ninth week, with 34.8 million streams (down 4%) and 5,000 sold (down 5%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Feb. 25-March 3 tracking week.
The song, by Dallas native GAYLE, ties for the longest Global Excl. U.S. reign, matching the nine-week commands of The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License,” both in 2021. Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” holds at its No. 2 Global Excl. U.S. high; Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” ascends 4-3 for a new best rank; Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” retreats 3-4, after reaching No. 2; and The Kid LAROI and Bieber’s “Stay” rebounds 6-5. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated March 12, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (March 8). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service. March 12th update from Khan on the Global 200 tiiiiime! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSdctFcLyQl6HJYoi9Jr2OHFGkn-TBnxWVFNxMlzrto/edit?usp=sharing- Actually, only one country reaches a new all-time peak this time, but it does the deed on both charts. It's the easiest one to guess because it's been reaching new peaks constantly for months now. Belgium's previous #28 peak has bounced up to #23 on the main chart. On the Excl. US chart, it tiptoes up from #15 to #14. Either way, "Where Are You Now" by Lost Frequencies is shaping up to be the biggest Belgian hit of the year by far if these gains never stop. Glass Animals vibes, I swear... Hell, if it maintains its sleeper hit status like this all year, it could be the biggest Belgian hit worldwide since "Somebody That I Used to Know" (which itself happened to hop back into the lower end of the chart this week). - And with that out of the way, the March 12th specifics. • "Take On Me" by Norwegian band A-ha has been hovering in the lower part of the chart for months now, but now finally Kygo has overtaken them for the Norway crown this week with a DNCE collab. Remember them? • After being the Jamaican leader on the Excl. US chart ever since "Nostálgico" fell off, "No Lie" by Sean Paul (and Dua Lipa) has finally crossed over to the main chart to become the top song from Jamaica there, too. He overtakes himself on "Cheap Thrills" with Sia this week. • The reign of "We Don't Talk About Bruno" might be finally waning, as "ABCDEFU" regains its title as biggest American song of the week this week. From a mouthful of an artist list to a mouthful of a title...

The song rules the Global 200 for a third week and reaches No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” is the hottest song in the world, as it leads the Billboard Global 200 chart for a third week and spends its first frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. ranking.
Meanwhile, Camila Cabello‘s “Bam Bam,” featuring Ed Sheeran, launches at No. 10 on the Global 200.
The two charts (which began in September 2020) rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data.
‘Heat Waves,’ ‘Bam Bam’ Highlight Global 200’s Top 10
Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” logs a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. The British quartet’s first leader on the list drew 55.8 million streams (up 2%) and sold 6,000 (up 25%) worldwide in the March 4-10 tracking week.
GAYLE’S “abcdefu” holds at No. 2 on the Global 200, after four weeks at No. 1; Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” hits a new high, rising 5-3; The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” lifts 6-4, after a record 11 weeks at No. 1; and Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” slips 4-5, after reaching No. 3.
Camila Cabello’s “Bam Bam,” featuring Ed Sheeran, soars onto the Global 200 at No. 10, with 34 million streams and 13,700 sold worldwide in its first week, following its March 4 arrival. Cabello earns her first top 10 on the chart and Sheeran scores his fourth. The single previews her third LP, Familia, due April 8. (The other song released from the set so far, “Don’t Go Yet,” reached No. 28 last August.)
‘Heat Waves’ Hits No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S.
“Heat Waves” concurrently becomes Glass Animals’ first No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, ascending from No. 2 with 41.6 million streams (up 2%) and 2,500 sold (up 29%) in territories outside the U.S. in the March 4-10 tracking week.
GAYLE’s “abcdefu” drops to No. 2 on Global Excl. U.S., following its record-tying nine-week reign; Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” keeps at its No. 3 high; The Kid LAROI and Bieber’s “Stay” pushes 5-4, after nine weeks at No. 1 (“abcdefu,” “Stay” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” share the mark for the most weeks spent at the summit); and Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” retreats 4-5, after reaching No. 2. The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated March 19, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (March 15).
