Wow I really wanted this to finish top 2 over “willow” :(. I love the entire final 3 though.

"champagne problems" not winning is blasphemy. My #8 is an underranking now but that's the best song after "cowboy like me" and "tolerate it." Of what was left, this one deserved.

'tis the damn season has become one of my absolute faves as well. God, this album's top half run is magnificent.

I'm unpleasantly shocked NBNC made it to the top 2. I love me a good murder ballad, but there are so many stronger songs on this record than it. Given many of the ranks I've seen over the last several reveals, some of you truly have no taste.

Which means the winner for the evermore First Impressions Rankdown is...

The tractors really did their jobs here! Look at that whooping amount of #1s - FIFTEEN #1s out of 52 lists! Compared to the song with the second largest amount of #1s, "champagne problems", which got six, that's a big difference! It's clear that there was passion for the song and that passion carried the song all the way to #1. It was actually stuck at #3 for a while but its surge happened later into the submission process, unseating the then-#1 "champagne problems" and kept the then-#2 "willow" at bay. This is Taylor's first attempt at a murder ballad which has been one of the themes that country music has always done so well. It has so far peaked at #60 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart (country radio for the love of god please play this thanks). So bboat11 can "no body, no crime" make Best of the Best now? The fact that this can and not the superior "betty" though...

Blasphemy. There is better on the record imo and even from release week, I never got the massive love for this song--even despite the country production and the Carrie Underwood vibes, lmao. Think of this as this album's "august" for me  :kii:  It's a good song of course, but to be above the likes of "champagne problems" is why horror is a genre. Tragic.

Firstly, that is Kylie in my avatar, not Taylor.

Second, I would have preferred NBNC landed closer to my rank than all the way at the top. "Willow" winning would've been boring but at least in better taste.

I enjoy NBNC, but I think it is in the middle of the pack on this exquisite album, so to see so many people who think it tops or nearly tops lots of other songs is a surprise. I wonder how opinions will change if/when this rankdown is done again once it's been long enough not to be a "first impression."

And this is coming from someone who ADORES songs like Goodbye Earl and Two Black Cadillacs and I just don't find NBNC up to that caliber.

I’m surprised by nb,nc winning but definitely cool with it! I probably could’ve put it higher but I struggled with a couple of ranks in my top 5. Also willow is really cool, there’s just something about the sound of it that I really like.

imagine thinking champagne problems is the worst song on the album, tasteless

no body no crime is pretty decent but really overhyped tbh. willow grew on me a lot recently so it probably would've been at least a few spots higher had i done this now.

I wanna extend a thank you to everyone for submitting for another surprise album and for following along! I also wanna thank fearlessarrow and born for allowing me back on (I had actually reached out regarding this rankdown and they had the same idea so here we are   ). and born for all of these incredible graphics!

I'm very excited for us to rank the re-recorded albums, singles (since I missed the first time), and especially album tracks! I'm also particularly excited to revisit folklore/evermore when we combine them! For now tho, that's a long way off lol. We'll be back soon!
