#27 Petric - Can’t Say No
This is the debut by Petric to this forum, and I doubt many of y'all know about this due from Winnipeg MA. They were releasing 5+ singles to the radio in the late 10s, but none became a big top 10 hit. They are now independent, and have a single with an Australian singer Hayley Jensen. bboat11 and castleoblivion26 scored the perfect ranking here. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #26)This, imo, is the best song by Petric. They have a solid harmony, but sometimes, songs could get a bit boring. I like the production and melody of this tune, while overall not strong enough, and hence, not surprised at its early exit. The lead vocal Tom Petric has a pleasant voice.

#26 Wes Mack - House On Fire
Total: 186 Average: 20.67 Std Dev: 10.44 Chart Peak: #43
Wes Mack YE RD History
2019 #19 Never Have I Ever ft. Sons of Daughters
The last song to fill the bottom 10 of this RD is Wes Mack. This is his second appearance in this series, but first solo song. I lost the top 5 again, and castleoblivion26 lost their top 10, while .indulgecountry got rid of another bottom 5 song. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #30)This is a catchy summer jam. I love the powerful chorus, and subsequent ooh ooh ooh part as well. I knew this wouldn't do that well, but this reveal is definitely sad, far sadder than the High Valley's exit, which was more predictable. I honestly miss Wes Mack a lot, but as far as I recall, this was his last appearance on the chart.

#25 Chad Brownlee - Dear Drunk Me
Total: 184 Average: 20.44 Std Dev: 11.10 Chart Peak: #3
Chad Brownlee YE RD History
2019 #8 Forever’s Gotta Start Somewhere 2020 #27 Money On You
The first song to escape the bottom 10 is Chad Brownlee. He was favoured by Pulse with the 2019 RD, but not in 2020 RD, so still hit or miss here. Received two top 10 rankings, but also three bottom 10 rankings. LBTrocks scored the perfect ranking. This was the lead single from Back in the Game, and his first top 5 hit. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #32)I really like this song, but I knew this would be polarizing, with its production and unique change of tempo. I quite like the lyrics and mood of this tune, and being a fan of his material in general, this easily slipped into the higher side of my list. I really miss his new music!

I love most of Chad’s catalogue. Have you heard whether he has any new music coming? I think he was dropped by his label for a comment he made…is he still without a label?

I love most of Chad’s catalogue. Have you heard whether he has any new music coming? I think he was dropped by his label for a comment he made…is he still without a label? Yeah so do I! He is still joining some tours, and getting a decent amount of radio plays for his older songs, but i haven't heard anything about his new music, unfortunately. I feel like he posted something like he is in recording studio on Insta, but I also feel like that was a while ago. On a different note, I finally saw Kristin Carter working on a debut album, it was like her first Insta post in a year.

#24 Gord Bamford - Dive Bar
Total: 180 Average: 20 Std Dev: 10.98 Chart Peak: #1
Gord Bamford YE RD History
2021 #29 Heaven On Dirt
This was his second #1 hit by Gord, the Canadian x Australian country star. This was rather polarizing, myself and tim lost their #2, but no other participants placed this in the top half. ccarter1023 scored the perfect ranking! CLD's Thought (Prediction: #28)Another sad reveal! I love this song, definitely one of my favs by Gord, along with his current single that I love (I Ain't Drunk) and Diamonds In A Whiskey Glass (this song was also liked by tim ). Sad to see this leaving early, despite predictably, but at least tim has a nice taste here!

"I Ain't Drunk" is the first truly great song by Gord Bamford I've heard. Everything else has ranged from meh to downright awful.

#23 Emily Reid - Good Time Being Woman
Total: 179 Average: 19.89 Std Dev: 10.36 Chart Peak: #27
Emily Reid YE RD History
2019 #6 Wine
Emily Reid had a huge drop from the last RD! This was her only single that made it to the top 50 chart on Billboard. Apparently, Wine was the popular one, California King was kinda disliked, and this one stands in the middle. Rather being polarizing one, this received the top 10 rankings from the tractors, while tim , who loved Wine, did not like this as much. nathanalbright and castleoblivion26 got rid of one of their bottom 5 songs. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #8)This song was surprisingly low, considering the popularity of Wine. This one was pretty catchy and energetic, but I understand that it is a very poppy country song. The theme reminds me of Keep Up by RaeLynn.

#22 Brett Kissel - Anthem
Total: 177 Average: 19.67 Std Dev: 12.07 (3rd Highest) Chart Peak: #8
Brett Kissel YE RD History
2019 #17 Drink About Me 2020 #13 A Few Good Stories 2021 #11 Night In The Life
This was the third most polarizing song! This received three top 10 rankings and three bottom 10 rankings, including tim 's last spot. Also castleoblivion26 cleared their bottom 5 with this reveal. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #33)This did way better than I thought! Brett tends to settle somewhere in the middle in this series, and this did worse than the usual, but still received some favourable rankings from .indulgecountry , ccarter1023 , and James . This one is pretty catchy to me, but definitely not his best song. Reminds me of She Drives Me Crazy, his other single from 2020.

#21 Paul Brandt - All About Her
Total: 176
Average: 9.56 Std Dev: 8.74 Chart Peak: #9
The classic figure is leaving to become the last song to miss the top 20. Paul Bradt, as many of you may know, has a bunch of bigger hits in the later 90s and early 00s in Canada in the US, but he started fading away from the radio scene, and this is his last top 10 hit, and he has not shown up to the chart since 2018. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #16)This song is pretty catchy, and I quite like it, even comparing with his classic materials. But I must admit that for those who are familiar with his older hits, this would be sounding pretty underwhelming.

#20 Madeline Merlo - Neon Love
Total: 165
Average: 18.33 Std Dev: 6.63 (4th Smallest) Chart Peak: #11
The first song to leave in the top 20 is Madeline Merlo. She was really polarizing with Kiss Kiss in 2020, but this was one of the least polarizing song in this list. She made it to the bigger RD in the 2021 series, but she did not receive as much of favour here. Looks like many were okay with this song, only one top 10 by bboat11 and one bottom 10 by nathanalbright . CLD's Thought (Prediction: #20)I scored another perfect ranking in the prediction! This song is so catchy, and I used to love it, until I overlistened to it by myself. I still love the melody, but yeah, it's like the definition of the pop country song. If i ranked this in 2018, this would've been in my top 3 easily.

"I Hate You For It" remains the only Chad Brownlee song I use. "Dear Drunk Me" was annoying af but I kinda liked the lyrics lol.
"Dive Bar" is just super generic and basic/boring to me. "I Ain't Drunk" is FANTASTIC tho.
Aw I really loved "Good Time Being Woman"! Totally loved the beat and the melody was so catchy and she sounded great on it!
Brett Kissel was lowkey channeling High Valley style-wise, but man, "Anthem" ended up being so catchy for me. As I kept doing the RD, I found myself wanting to go back and listen to it again! Love his voice too.
"Neon Love" is really good! I haven't liked much from Madeline Merlo thus far, but this is like the second song from her I enjoy now lol.
"All About Her" was just really monotone to me. The melody and his vocals never really went where I wanted them to.

#24 Gord Bamford - Dive Bar 🌺CountryLineDancer - 2 tim - 2
Sad to see this leaving early, despite predictably, but at least tim has a nice taste here!Right back atcha! And to heck with all of those low rankings...this is a jam. I'm a bit behind, but I do have to add that I wouldn't move "Anthem" out of my last place even after giving it another try. I don't know how this got some higher rankings, but suffice to say I think this song is baloney.

#19 Hunter Brothers - Those Were the Nights
Total: 164
Average: 18.22 Std Dev: 12.04 (4th Highest) Chart Peak: #9
There was a tie, so the one with higher standard deviation is leaving first. Being the fourth most polarizing song, Hunter Brothers is leaving at #19, which happened to be their best performing song so far. This was received the like from five participants, but those four High Valley haters predictably placed this song pretty low. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #34)I was not big fan of Hard Dirt, but this was is one of my favs from them, along with Silver Lining. This song has an energetic mood, and the harmony is pretty strong, which you would find it even stronger in the acoustic version of the song.

#18 Andrew Hyatt - Habit
Total: 164
Average: 18.22 Std Dev: 10.22 Chart Peak: #12
Andrew Hyatt won the tie against Hunter Brothers, but this ended up his worst performing song so far. Around #23 - #26 was the popular spot for this song, but still received three top 3 rankings, including two top 2 by James and ccarter1023 . CLD's Thought (Prediction: #15)I like Andrew Hyatt, but this song is definitely weaker than Didn't Know Me or Neverland. I still like it lyrically, but the melody and delivery could have been better. Still bitter about Neverland not making it to the top 5 in 2021 series.

#17 Kalsey Kulyk - More Time
Total: 162
Average: 18 Std Dev: 13.46 (2nd Highest!) Chart Peak: NA
Another song that did not chart, but joined this RD with my choice, is leaving. Kalsey Kulyk is a country artist from Saskatchewan, and charted once with a song Who I Was. The newest song Big Deal got one add so far. She is the wife of Eric Ethridge, if you remember a song If you met me first, which did pretty good in this series. This was really polarizing, and received three top 5 and three bottom 5 rankings. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #24)I'm glad this song was favoured by quite a few participants here, as it was one of my "recommendations". I think this song has a fantastic lyrics, and the melody is pretty strong as well. I kinda get that her vocal could be polarizing, but did not expect many bottom rankings (excluding mine, I like this well, but just did not climb higher in this list).

#16 Meghan Patrick - Wild As Me
Total: 161
Average: 17.89 Std Dev: 11.54 (5th Highest!) Chart Peak: #9 The last song to miss the top 15 is Meghan Patrick. I know .indulgecountry is favouring her overall, but she has not really done well in this series, to my surprise. This was also polarizing, and received four top 10 rankings and two bottom 10 rankings. This song is referring to Mitchell Tenpenny btw lol. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #3)I was surprised that this is leaving so early! I though this would perform like Things I Shouldn’t Say, but instead, became another My First Car... I quite like this song, not as much as "Things", but I like the guitar production, and her vocal sounds pretty strong. Also here's the duet version.

I wanted to like Meghan Patrick more but her singles have been underwhelming for me. Never Giving Up On You is the best single she has released in my opinion but I think that is sonically not her usual sound.

#15 Shawn Austin - You Belong
Total: 161
Average: 17.89 Std Dev: 9.16 Chart Peak: #12 Braking the tie here, and Shawn made it to the top 15 for the first time in this series. This was released back when he was with Steelhead Music. James , who also placed What Do I Know as #1, placed this in the top 3, while I lost one of my bottom 5 rankings. This also received only two bottom 10 rankings. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #18)This song has a nice rock-ish production, and Shawn's vocal sounded pretty pleasant. I'm okay with the melody, hence my low ranking, and I also prefer his other two songs that showed up in this series over this tune.

#14 Dean Brody - Good Goodbye
Total: 158
Average: 17.56 Std Dev: 8.47 Chart Peak: #6 Next up is one of the icons of the contemporary Canadian country singer, Dean Brody. Good Goodbye was the lead single from Black Sheep, and became a decent hit. As always the case with Dean (except for 2021), this ended up finishing just after top 15, so Pulse has a mild response towards his music overall. This received two top 10 rankings and only one bottom 10 ranking. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #17)I quite like this song. Summery beach vibe is really pleasant, and I like how smooth the chorus goes. It's also fun to listen to this in his concert, like Step 1, Step 2 part. Album Black Sheep was a great era overall.

#13 Kira Isabella - Danger Danger
Total: 157
Average: 17.44 Std Dev: 10.83 Chart Peak: #44 This is the first appearance of Kira to this series! She is from Ottawa ON, and was signed to the label back when she was around 15. Sort of reminds me of the how the career of Callista Clark started. This song is more mature side of her song, but you'll see more of her earlier songs in the future of this series. She sort of faded out from the radio scene around 2018, unfortunately. This was written by Maren Morris, Sam Elllis, and Shy Carter. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #5)This didn't click with people as much as I thought it would! Kira has a strong vocal, but I'm not keen on the melody/delivery of this particular song. That said, I'm wanting her to come back to the radio scene. My fav song from this era was Handcuffs.

#12 Heidi Raye - Lay Me On Down
Total: 153
Average: 17 Std Dev: 8.08 Chart Peak: NA Another one of my "recommendations" is leaving. Heidi Raye never released a single to the radio, and this is honestly the only song that I am familiar with. She is from BC, but I never had a chance to see her shows. This is the first song with no bottom 5 ranking. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #12)Glad to see some nice responses to my recommendation again. LBTrocks is showing good taste here, and I got a perfect ranking for my prediction. This song is slow, but has a groovy mood, and I love the melody. Heidi has a great voice, so I am hoping to try more of her materials.

#11 MacKenzie Porter - About You
Total: 152
Average: 16.89 Std Dev: 9.66 Chart Peak: #1 The last song to miss the top 10 is MacKenzie Porter. This is her first time missing the top 10 in this series! About You was released in 2018 as a comeback, her first single since 2016, and became her first #1 hit. The hit from this song helped her gain some momentum and she has been getting many big hits since this song. CLD's Thought (Prediction: #9)I'm quite okay with this song, compared with other materials by MacKenzie. I like that this song helped her get success on the radio though, but I feel like the chorus part is dragging a little too long.
