Track from his 1980 album and was later released as a b-side track to his 1981 hit "That Girl". Heard this track alot on during old school mixes on WGCI and V103 when I was younger. Despite not be a signature song of his, this was one of my favorites from him. There was also a house remix that I heard on house mixes on WGCI in 2000. The original white label version sampled the original Stevie track while the official release featured a different singer doing a cover version. I liked the white label version. I love it. Hotter Than July is easily my favorite 80s album by him. Great album.
Michael Jackson on backing vocals. He originally wrote this for (and it was recorded by) Tammi Terrell.

Making a thread for my favorite Stevie Wonder song of all time. Also, because I was today years old when I found out MICHAEL JACKSON DID BACKGROUND VOCALS ON THIS.

MJ does good work here, but so does Betty Wright! I also love Tammi Terrell's version, which was the first recorded version of the song: Hotter Than July is an underrated album in Wonder's catalog imo. This, "Mater Blaster," "Lately," etc are good enough to rank with a lot of his classics.
