1983 rap classic and one of my favorite early hip hop records. This song is often credited to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (best known for "The Message") but Flash had no involvement with this release and had left the Furious Five. This song also based on a track called Cavern by Liquid Liquid. There was also a cover version of this song in 1995 by Duran Duran of all artists. Often heard this song in old school mixes on WGCI and occasionally heard it in old school mixes on B96 as well when I was younger. How do we not have a thread for this 1983 classic? Only went to #47 on the R&B charts, #9 on the dance charts and #7 in the UK. This song was as fun as well, white lines - just kidding. Don't do it.

I thought I made a thread on this song earlier? It must had gotten deleted since I can't find it. Anyway, this was one of the best early 80s hip hop records. This song is often erroneously credited to Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five but Flash had already left the Furious Five by the time this song came out. "White Lines" also borrows heavily from a track call "Cavern" by Liquid Liquid". When I was younger, I would occasionally heard this track during old school mixes on WGCI and B96 on the radio.
