Out of her three EPs I definitely enjoy her first the most. Acoustic production fits her voice so well! I'm definitely getting her concert ticket if she comes to Philly or NYC.

Awww, Rosé is so cute, it didn't deserve such a low ranking. But, Snowman is also cute and see where that got it. I can't believe I ranked Crazy so high lol I don't know what I was thinking ajajajjaja

Both Unbreakable and It’s No Mistake are out too early! Both of those clicked with me pretty instantly so I’m sad to see them out now

Not upset by any of the losses so far!
"Snowman?" is a good cover, but it's a Xmas song so the appeal is limited. The two duets with male artists are sadly beneath her quality standards, though it is nice to see that she's landed a few collabs like that and I hope she'll continue to get more in the future (as someone said, it's nice that "Boys" was a hit in Canada!). I like elements of the song, but "Rosé" is pretty grating from a vocal delivery standpoint. Not a fan of "Unbreakable" or "Crazy" really, though tbh I wouldn't say they're outright 'bad' either, but something has to go at the bottom and I wouldn't really seek either of them out. All the one-off soundtrack cuts we've lost so far are all cute but nothing particularly striking compared to some of her EP material imo.

Other than "Crazy" I can live with these results, "Rosé" is getting a little more hate than I'd have thought but these all make sense for me to go out earlier.
"Crazy" I adore her vocal on, it's such a classic song and I actually like the changes they made, I'd have been disappointed in a straight cover.

I missed this, can you please tag me for the upcoming reveal? Also, even I cannot defend Boys, being a big fan of Dean Brody. It's quite a weak and generic song, but at least, good to hear Mickey's voice on my local radio.

I don't even dislike Dean Brody, but I couldn't help thinking that his voice and Guyton's didn't go well together at all. In fact, I think the song would've been better if she had been singing the whole thing by herself.
I thought "It's No Mistake" had her roughest vocal here, but I loved the song itself enough that it overcame that flaw.
DYWBaS was great, although I'm not sure it works out of the setting of a musical. At least that one part of the song "Okay, bye...." sounded really dumb here, whereas I love it in the movie.

Oh yeah, by the way, Boys is GREAT! I am not a huge fan of Dean, but usually like his stuff, and Boys is just a great song. Some people say that the topic has been done so many times, but are we really ignoring the massive amount of songs that talk about love, and no one bats an eye?

are we really ignoring the massive amount of songs that talk about love, and no one bats an eye? yes, because love is such a wide, large-spanning topic that can be discussed in plenty of different lights, whether they be positive or negative. “Love You Like That” by Dagny, “anything” by Adrianne Lenker and “Honey” by Robyn are all songs about falling in love that go about it in very different ways. The “difference between men & boys” trope in country has been used a lot, and unlike the topic of love, can only be used in a few ways.

Hello everyone! I'm sorry for the huge delay the last few days. Last week really got away from me! I would like to finish this today if anybody is up for that :) I'm thinking I'll start the top 15 now, go have a late lunch, and then finish the top 10 this afternoon/evening!

“Safe” remained a top five contender on my list up until the very end when I had to put it just outside of that. I really enjoyed some of these acoustic additions to the list and this was my favorite of those.

I've said it before, but I love the way her voice sounds on this acoustic EP so much "Safe" in particular has it all. I especially love the slight rasp in her voice when she gets into the chorus. There are just so many textures to her voice on this song, between all the runs and the head voice section in the middle and the rasp in the belts and on and on. It's one of those songs that I could find some new masterful technique in the vocal performance that I hadn't noticed before every single time I listen to it, and I love that!

I, too, love her acoustic EP and the vocal on Safe has always been one of my favorite performances from her.

Yep, her first EP just got eliminated in a 1-2-3 consecutive triple punch (Other than "Pretty Little Mustang", but I imagine most of us ranked that one based on the full-band version from her next EP). "Forever Love" has such an engaging melody! From the moment she bursts into that "Every day is an endless summer" line, I'm immediately hooked! Her voice just sounds so sunny and warm, and her vocal prowess is immediately evident from that very first line. The thing that I love most about these acoustic recordings is that (with the exception of "Pretty Little Mustang") they don't sound like they're too skimpy on the instrumentation or like they would be better with full-studio versions, which is a very common problem I've encountered with most "acoustic" recordings through the years. "Forever Love" has a perfect arrangement. It sounds like it could have been taken directly from the Dixie Chicks' Home album or something.

"Caught Up In Your Storm" is a very unique song that was hard for me to rank. On the one hand, I low-key hate the dark minor key 6/8 vibe at the beginning. I'm not totally sure why, it just hits my ear in a bad way compared to most of her output. It would have been an easy last place in the first half of the song....but then there's that second half!!! Holy crap, the vocals she's serving!!!!! The way she belts out the second half is incredible, and nearly saved this song from my bottom 5!
As it turns out, opinions were all over the place for this one, leading to it being our second most polarizing song.

"Caught Up In Your Storm" was one of the harder songs for me to rank and at one point it was even in my top 10. The more I listened it though the more I realized this just isn't something I'm casually going to want to put on, so with that I ended up putting it just inside my top 15. I knew that this was a favorite for some amongst the group and so it doesn't come as a surprise that it was one of the more polarizing songs.

"Sister" is officially her first radio single to leave us! (At least I think it was a radio single? Wikipedia suggests as much, lmao. Either way, it didn't chart, so it might not matter).
This female empowerment anthem is kinda generic and imo pales in comparison to similar-themed songs that other cornerstone females to the genre like Reba, Dolly, and Martina have given us through the years. However, it is still a very pleasant listen thanks to Mickey's perfect vocals.

There's not much about "Sister" that is relatable to my own life as I don't have a sister myself, but I've always really liked the song especially the "You're gonna hurt but you ain't gotta hurt alone" line. Not only does Mickey sound great on it but I also enjoy the production overall.

Missing out on the top 10 by just two points, we say goodbye to one of Mickey's two singles that actually charted!! "Heartbreak Song" peaked at #45 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart back in 2016.
This song is interesting, because it was very hard to get into back when I first heard it, but through the years it has gotten under my skin just a little bit more every time I have heard it. I do not deny that it is generic modern pop country, and honestly is beneath Mickey's vocal talents. But it is still one that I can't help but jam to a little bit when it comes on!
