album positions is around 100k sales iirc. ...Queen Olivia topping itunes once again, whoo! I sense a ft. DaBaby or ft. Gunna for Oliviaβs next single Whatever she does next, by God, I hope she does not EVER make an EDM song with another producer ( maybe long after her prime, but certainly not now). Her voice is too good to be ruined by someone like Zedd or Marshmello on some generic pop/trap/EDM schlock.

DaBaby having to explain his wordplay about JoJo Siwa so that Twitter doesn't think he's trying to start beef with a teenaged girl... is something I did not expect to see ever lmao

If you have to explain your wordplay then itβs not good Even after he explained it, it just doesnβt make that much sense...

Just heard this news on Twitter, thankfully our guy Roddy is alive and well according to another source. No word on 42 Duggβs condition as of yet.

Olivia needs to keep with the vivid storytelling lyrics combined with the Lorde style and she will be golden going forward.

Not sure what to make of Ariana other than this last album failed to meet the βThank U, Nextβ standard she set. I think she needs to rebound on the follow up. No. thank u, next is her career peak, plain and simple. And that's completely fine. Most artists never see that kind of success and it's ridiculous to expect an artist to maintain that level of success because it has literally never happened before. Ariana is in no dire position right now either. Y'all are acting like positions is some outright flop or something as if the two singles didn't just peak at #1 and #2 and were both #1 hits on pop airplay. Not to mention the fact she literally just became the first female musician to replace herself at #1 on pop airplay on Billboard's chart (not Mediabase's, though). The album has garnered over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify and hasn't left the top 20 on the Billboard 200 since its release (and only left the top ten for two weeks due to Christmas). She's fine.

To those asking this seriously (because I know you specifically are not, but this thread is proving that some actually are) : Short term? Yes, absolutely. She's showing zero signs of struggling anywhere. A random r&b album track from a quietly released deluxe edition only being in the top ten of Spotify for a few days isn't signs of her career demise much to the dismay of a few here I take it. Long term? Depends what is meant by "fine." Consistently getting hit after hit? Of course not, there's literally no artist ever in music history to consistently score hits until they either retire or die. That's just not a thing. But being a well respected musician to slowly fade into legend/icon status where hits aren't the end goal anymore? Yeah, she's definitely on track to follow that path.

Not sure what to make of Ariana other than this last album failed to meet the βThank U, Nextβ standard she set. I think she needs to rebound on the follow up. It definitely didn't match the success of TUN, but the success of TUN most certainly isn't a standard she set and somehow needs to meet with every new album she releases. That's unrealistic. There were a lot of factors surrounding that album which made it as successful as it was. For one, it's her best album. It also came after the death of Mac Miller and after the end of a highly publicized relationship/engagement with Pete Davidson. The general public had an overwhelming interest in what she was going to say about both things on her next album and to her credit, with the whole world focused more on her personal/private life than ever before, she delivered her best album yet. All those factors played very heavily into the success of TUN. She can never recreate those conditions ever again. People don't seem nearly as interested in her current relationship as they did in her past ones and if we're being honest, releasing one of your weaker albums right after releasing your best one will make the difference between both very clear and the deluxe version of Positions only made that difference more visible. I wouldn't say she released Positons too soon but I imagine that a better play would have been her doing a bunch of features throughout 2020 to build some hype and momentum and then releasing a (better) album sometime this year, but even that is neither here nor there. All in all, I think we need to stop setting unrealistic standards for established musicians to meet or surpass. Justin Bieber will probably never have another album/album era as successful as Purpose. Taylor Swift will probably never have another album/album era as successful as 1989. I could also say the same with Ariana and TUN but that's okay. You know why? They've seen an extended amount of success throughout their careers. These are people with multiple #1 albums, #1/top 10 hit singles to their names. Even releasing albums that only perform a quarter of how their best-performing albums did is okay and is often times a lot better than many other albums released throughout a calendar year. Taylor Swift doesn't release singles that serve any longevity any longer but she's still a solid album artist and she remains a streaming force. Justin Bieber may not move as many album units as he once did with Purpose but he still scores hit singles and he's still a radio darling. Ariana might never match the success of the TUN era but she still scores hits and streams well. They'll all be fine. If I'm Ariana Grande, I'm taking a break from releasing more music this year and kicking off a new era in 2022. Same with Taylor Swift. It may not be noticable to some now, but between Lover in August 2019, Folklore in July 2020 and Evermore in December 2020, she's overexposed herself. She should be fine re-releasing her older work but I'd hold off from any new albums if I were her.

Bobby Shmurda is gonna get released from prison in a day or two. Could his release spark any impact on the charts?

please please makes telepatΓa a hit ! although im a reggaeton fan, im really really happy that a song without reggaeton/typical latino upbeat kind of style and more spanish indie/alternative sound is getting that hype. Carla Morrison, Natalia Lafourcade are very popular here. shows the world spanish music is not just a one trick pony.

With that logic, Morgan should use the "n" word in a freestyle and he'll be perfectly justified.

I like this idea as well (although I think Natalia charting on her own is a very long shot (unless Bad Bunny works with her) given how much her music speaks to very classical Spanish music. Perhaps Lido Pimienta or even Arca could go viral) Also a reason why I hope Korean rap and R&B can eventually crossover to the charts so that it isn't just the bombastic K-Pop that gets big. I know Kris Wu charted for a week but like with telepatia, I hope DEAN or Eric Nam can get a big international hit one day
