I like this one! Hopefully it does better than āWhere That Beerās Beenā. That one was a total dud unfortunately.

Finally! Even though I did not mind Where That Beer's Been, this should have been released as a single in the first place.

Absolutely the right choice. Should have been the 3rd single because this actually stands out and is unique (and ridiculously catchy).

Better than Whereās That Beer Been and After A Few but his best single is still David Ashley Parker. It shouldāve been a #1 single.

Ew, this is SO awful lol. The way he sings 'ABBAYYYY' is so obnoxious. Hands down the worst thing I've heard from him thus far. This song is the epitome of generic mainstream country to me. Hard pass.

This is catchy AND cleverly written. I don't disagree that it's catered to mainstream country in the 2020's, but comparatively speaking to some other songs, it's harmless and has been an easy listen on The Highway for a few months now.

Hard pass. Seriously though, I'm with LBTrocks on this one. This is... not good at all. I'm actually surprised so many people seem to think this is a quality cut, because the hook is incredibly stupid in the context of this song and it actually took me several listens to actually figure out why the song was titled the way it was, lol. Not to mention his voice sounds awful and like Flops said, the way he hoarsely yelps "ABBAAY" is a yikes. Don't see what everyone else does in this one.

I will say the best thing about the song is that you either love it or hate it as it does stand out from the crowd, and that's why I can totally see it being a hit.
Speaking of which it's the most added song with 29 adds this week. A really solid start after "Where's That Beer Been" completely flopped.

So glad to see this get a good number of adds. I stand by this being one of the most exciting things a male artist has done in awhile. The hook is hysterical and genius and the melody is pure ear candy. Lyrically this reminds me of something Brad Paisley would have done 10 years ago. I miss having some humorous country songs to jam out to. Really, really hope this can turn into a hit. I know almost nothing about Travis but I hope he has the personality to make a great music video for this too.

The clerk at the liquor store in the video is the real David Ashley Parker. (That song was masterpiece as well)

I remember when I heard "David Ashley Parker" for the first time and got excited about his future and then he followed it up with faceless radio fodder like "After a Few" and this awful song right here. It reminds me a bit of how wonderful I thought Brett Eldredge might be when we were introduced to him with "Raymond" and then literally everything since was a huge letdown.

I really look forward to seeing the video for this. It can be really fun if he does it right!

I just about fell over in my chair this morning when one of my local stations played this song. They NEVER play new singles right away from newer artists until they reach around the top 25....so they are like 8 months early on this lol

While itās a funny concept to spoof early 2000s videos, I think this couldāve done a better job at that. Itās the same 4 videos heās spoofing for the whole video. None of which have anything to do with ABBY. It wouldāve been neat to have more videos spoofed here or at least a few that have something to do with the theme of ABBY. Missed opportunity to have a really funny video with a storyline that makes sense with this song...

Yeah I agree with that, and if youāre only going to do four, release them one at a time and use the last chorus to be a mash of all 4. The entire fun of it was out of the bag 30 seconds in. It was pretty boring TBH. I do think this song is going to hit though, even after a flop.

I disagree that this is mainstream. There is no āmainstreamā anymore anyway (2012 was almost 10 years ago...) and this oneās a little more on the alt side. The lyrics are unique and harken back to some of the clever, and somewhat silly, country songs of the 90s.
Not every song has to be a groundbreaking display of poetic lyricism. Iāve been cranking this one up.

Or specifically in the music industry anything that has the corporate funding to be heavily marketed and exposed to a wide variety of people through radio, television, awards, etc. There will never not be a mainstream market.

What was the overwhelmingly common sound among a broad range of artists that emerged in 2012 and the years that followed? There is far more musical diversity in the genre right now.

I agree that there is definitely far more sonic diversity in our mainstream country music industry right now. But it's still the mainstream country music industry, lol.

Saw him open for Brothers Osborne a few weeks ago and it sounded like the crowd knew this one just as much (if not more than) "After a Few", which was quite surprising to me. So I'm glad it's still being pushed. That said, he was horrendous live and no one seemed to care much for what was going on when he was on stage other than with this and AAF. As much as I like "ABBY", I'd be fine if it flopped and he disappeared after that since I don't think he offers much to the genre and there are plenty more talented white males that deserve the success.
