Just 3,000 sales can you get you top 50 on the digital sales chart now yikes. 10 years ago, the #50 sold 42k. even worse is that 7,000 gets you in the top 10. 10 years ago this week, Kesha's "Blow" was #10 with 129,000 sales. there's no coming back for digital sales. |

#50 on digital sales is ~2,300. If it wasn't for those old songs being discounted, it could be 2,000-2,100.
On the March 6 chart, Levitating was #10 with 5,770.
Before the end of the year we'll probably have #50 with less than 2,000 and #10 with less than 5,000.

I wrote up a reaction to those sales from the iTunes markdown but then decided the numbers are too small to even be engaged with meaningfully... Digital singles just aren't a mainstream product at this point

"Promiscuous" is also being helped by it going semi-viral on TikTok I think.
It's easier for random stuff like those tracks to climb the charts when it takes just 4k to crack top 30.
