Hilary Duff - Cry Similarly to "Pretty Baby," all versions of "Cry" on Spotify are the 2005 "remix" from her Most Wanted compilation. The original version from her self-titled album isn't available. "Cry" wasn't on any version of Most Wanted. A friend of mine on Twitter said that some of the mixes of the Hilary Duff album are different from the CD, but most are very subtle. He said at least Cry, Jericho, Haters, Rock This World, Do You Want Me?, Weird, The Getaway and Hide Away have differences. Like the mastering is different or something, which may or may not be why "Cry" is labeled as a remix.

Hundreds of K-Pop Songs by Seventeen, MonstaX & More Returning to Spotify By Heran Mamo 3/10/2021 Click to copy www.billboard.com/articles/business/streaming/9538238/spotify-kakao-licensing-agreement-seventeen-monstax/The streaming service and distributor Kakao Entertainment have renewed their global licensing deal after it expired earlier this month. Spotify and Kakao Entertainment (previously Kakao M) have made amends. Licensing negotiations between the global streaming giant and powerhouse South Korean distributor reached an impasse earlier this month. And as a result, some of the K-Pop’s biggest stars disappeared from Spotify on March 1, including Seventeen, MonstaX, Mamamoo, (G)I-DLE and IU. But the renewed global license will allow their music to return to the streaming platform across the globe, including South Korea for the first time. The discographies of the affected K-pop acts, which also include Zico, Gfriend, Loona, Sunmi, Apink and Dreamcatcher, will eventually return to Spotify on Friday, according to a source. "We are pleased that Kakao Entertainment’s content and artists are back on Spotify, allowing our 345M+ global listeners across 170 countries to once again enjoy the music they love. Spotify’s mission has always been to connect artists to their fans all over the world and to give listeners access to all of the world’s music. We are delighted that our Korean listeners will now also be able to enjoy this local music alongside our 70 million+ songs and 4 billion+ playlists," Spotify sad in a statement. "We remain committed to making a positive impact on Korea’s music streaming ecosystem through our partnerships with artists, labels, and local rights holders." Their global licensing deal had expired on Feb. 28. Spotify issued a statement to Billboard that read, "Despite our best efforts, the existing licensing deal we had with Kakao M has come to an end." But Kakao Entertainment issued a counter-statement on Soompi, pointing fingers at the streaming service for being the one who chose not to renew their agreement after Kakao had requested it. They were also in the midst of negotiating a separate, unrelated domestic contract, but "due to Spotify’s policy that they must proceed with the domestic and global contracts at the same time," its global contract with Kakao Entertainment expired. Spotify launched in South Korea on Feb. 2, and its move into the world’s sixth largest market, according to the IFPI, put Spotify in direct competition with the domestic streaming band affiliated with Kakao Entertainment, Melon. (Kakao Corp. has operated Melon since 2009.) "Kakao Entertainment Corp. (previously Kakao M) has entered into an agreement with Spotify and will sequentially provide its music content to Spotify for service in and beyond Korea," reads a statement from Kakao Entertainment to Billboard. "Through its diverse partnerships around the world including Spotify, Kakao Entertainment hopes that music lovers around the world can easily access its artists’ and music content to enjoy K-pop. Kakao Entertainment remains committed to the Korean music ecosystem and its growth and will continue protecting the rights of artists, labels and local rights holders going forward."

Like the mastering is different or something, which may or may not be why "Cry" is labeled as a remix. Oh this fascinating! I assumed it was from Most Wanted since there's a bunch of "2005 Remix" tracks on there and random ass album tracks as well. Now that you mention it, I do remember a few more tracks being slightly different on Spotify too (it's been a while since I've played the album lol). "Cry" was the only one that was different enough for me to not like it, so I guess it stuck with me lol. So weird that there were just two different pressings with multiple tracks having different production! I feel special for having the original pressing now lol. The advantages of buying albums on release day I guess. 😅

Heart - Heart (1985). It was available in the past, but currently missing from streaming services. Just found this out. Devastated. That's their best album!

And yet I still have my good old vinyl record of it (I once had it on cassette as well.) More evidence that new technology does not always mean positive progress. Meanwhile, Premiere Radio Networks treats us to a 1986 AT40 replay this weekend with "These Dreams" at #1.

I know it's due to the estate, but Aaliyah's "One in a Million" and "Aaliyah".
The Pokémon movie soundtracks (the TV series soundtrack is there though).

I'm devastated to learn that Janet Jackson and Luther Vandross' "The Best Things In Life Are Free" is completely missing from Spotify, outside from a cover version (which is serviceable, but nothing compares to the infectious charisma of the original performers).
Does anyone know why that's the case? Label issues, perhaps?

I hate when I add a song on a playlist then I later found out it has disappeared. Fortunately it does not happen very often.

The majority of Janet Jackson's "Discipline" album is currently georestricted. As for songs completely missing on Spotify, Duffy's sophomore effort "Endlessly" comes to mind. Given the circumstances surrounding that era, I understand why she chooses not to acknowledge the project, but it would be nice to have it on streaming. Nicki Minaj's mixtapes aren't available on Spotify either, and same goes for Post Malone's "August 26th" debut mixtape (featuring an interpolation/cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams"). Finally, Target-exclusive bonus tracks for Ariana Grande's "My Everything" and "Dangerous Woman" are missing too. I'm not too sure if there's an underlying issue that makes her team unable to add them, but tracks like "Cadillac Song" and "Step On Up" really deserve more exposure. Since writing this post, we got Nicki's "Beam Me Up Scotty" mixtape and Ariana's "Step On Up" finally available on Spotify. Promising developments. In addition to those I previously mentioned, Janet Jackson's "Twenty Foreplay" seems to be georestricted as well. And of course, Aaliyah's discography outside of her debut remains a mess to find, with some tracks scattered on random compilation albums (also georestricted), and important singles like "One In A Million" and "Miss You" nowhere to be found.

I believe that "Decode" is no longer semi blocked on Spotify as I was able to actually listen to the song there right now, I'm surprised that it was even blocked on some regions to begin with but I'm very happy that I can now listen to the actual song there !

Me Myself and I is on Spotify but not 3 Feet High and Rising or De La Soul is Dead Garth Brooks - Thunder Rolls is on a compilation but surprisingly much of his catalog is not available, including Robin' the Wind Joanna Newsom - None of the critically adored albums are there Frank Ocean - Nostalgia Ultra though thankfully Novacaine is available as a single Chance the Rapper - he still hasn't able clear the sample for Juice so it's the only missing song from Acid Rap Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask REplica
