Lmao. i think its cuz pandora promotes one song as the single and since they have a deal with drake, they promote him heavily. And pandora probably has a lot of casual listeners so they just listen to whats new and promoted

I thought DJ Snake released on Thursday? My guess is that because he released mid-day, it hadn't registered enough streams yet to make it onto the Thursday chart

As I imagined, other Drake songs saw a slight boost in streams thanks to the new music he released. Chicago Freestyle, Life Is Good, Popstar & Laugh Now Cry Later all seeing 50K+ increases is great.
I really hope this week's new songs don't lose too much streams over the weekend, especially Hold On. I really want it to debut in the top 10.

Taylor isnβt immune to criticism of her work. Many of the Lover and Reputation singles were slandered by both critics and the GP. No artist is immune to backlash when they release bad material. Taylor has received acclaim recently because she released 2 high quality albums with genius lyricism and storytelling. You say many of the singles from those albums were slandered but thats actually not true minus ME! & LWYMMD and arguably end game. People and critics loved all the other singles like ready for it, YNTCD, delicate, lover, new years day and getaway car. Why is this even randomly brought up? I mean, "Delicate", "Lover", "New Year's Day", and "Getaway Car" are all excellent, so the praise is deserved. "...Ready For It?" got a lot of flack from some critics, though, and even Swifties tend to have mixed feelings on it. As for "You Need To Calm Down", while it got some initial praise for being an 'improvement' from "ME!" and the great initiative surrounding the song's promo, the song itself was subject to rightful scrutiny for its clumsily executed and kind of tone-deaf lyrics. That one has a good number of defenders, though, so you could make a case for it.

The fact that QuinXCII debuted with more streams than Bebe Rexha is awful

Good for Drake that he can still drop a single and be this big, but it just reminds me how tough it is for women once they hit their mid-30s. No one is talking about Drake's age, but for nearly any woman that would be an issue.

I totally agree, but I guess we'll see how some of the biggest female acts now in their 30's fare when they release albums this year/going forward. Adele was 27 when she released her last album. Rihanna was 28 when she released her last album. Taylor was 30 when she released her last 2 albums. Beyoncè was 35 when she released her last studio album.

kcdawg13 if I had multiple multi-billion dollar companies and was making more money from them than I'd ever made making music, I also wouldn't be eager to release new music/tour.

Today's Spotify update came pretty quickly. Drake and Bruno/Anderson are holding on, while Bieber's "Hold On" dropped to #10.
"Life's A Mess II" collapsed from #13 to #32, and there are no complaints from my part here.
And no sign of "Beautiful Mistakes" yet again...

Sure, if your goal is money. Presumably musicians like to create music, too lol. Well, I think she also likes to create these other things, too, but it does then seem like music isn't a love, per se.

Steep drops for Drake in Spotify Unfortunate, but not unexpected. Interestingly enough, Lemon Pepper Freestyle lost fewer streams than What's Next/Wants and Needs. Great hold for Bruno/Justin. Hopefully, the losses tomorrow are even less and they rebound to some degree on Monday update. I don't know if it's just me, but it feels like audio streaming has become just as bad/even worse than when the pandemic first hit. I remember how excited we all were seeing drivers license rapidly gain in streams over those first couple of days and how that performance was so different from how every other song was performing around the same time, but even that didn't last long and it spent it's next 3 weeks bleeding streams. I wonder when/if things will kick back up again. It's crazy that the biggest song in America in the last 8 weeks is pulling less than 1.5M daily streams on Spotify US. I definitely wouldn't drop an album right now if I was a major mainstream artist.

Bruno/Justin had a better hold than Drake, but Drake debuted with a lot more streams so he had more streams to lose. I think someone said earlier that the song can't play on Spotify or that it's having some other technical issue. I'm just surprised that Maroon 5's label hasn't sorted out the issue when the song has been out for 5 days now.

I think she loves making music, lol. She's said so lots of times and she wouldn't have churned out 8 albums in 8 years if she didn't love it. But I also think she felt she had dedicated enough time to JUST music that she was deserving of a break from it and it's really not like she hasn't been busy while taking a break with music. She's probably been more busy starting and managing 3 new major companies in the last 3 years than she was releasing an album a year, lol.

Hm...this one seems more legit than the one that was circulating these past few days. Someone under this post also shared their own video of the ad coming after "Keeping Up With The Kardashians". That is a very strong line-up so far, so I can't say I'm not looking forward to it. Still hoping there will be some boycott in support of The Weeknd, though. His snub (especially for "Blinding Lights") remains unforgivable in my eyes, and proof that a serious shake-up is needed.

I definitely wouldn't drop an album right now if I was a major mainstream artist. HDD already projected that in their 140-170M prediction. If those three songs held as well as LNCL did in its first week, SC2 would debut with 210M audio streams, not 140-170M.

firefox Does it really matter? We'll probably never know the whole truth and the Grammys can't magically nominate him for any awards in this year's award ceremony. What's done is done. He should just focus on the future and should probably learn to maybe not hold the Recording Academy to such high regard. He's not the only who has gotten screwed over by them and he won't be the last.

Y'all are all wrong, the law of averages is definitely Ariana Grande, her singles range from great like thank u, next, Love Me Harder, Into You, breathin', no tears left to cry to awful like 7 rings, break up your girlfriend, i'm bored, God is a woman, Focus and her albums are also mid which is ashamed because she's really talented. switch 7 rings and TUN. God is a woman was also half decent. Also add 34+35 into the awful pile... Nah, 7 rings is awful, it's her worst hit song to date.
