I think it could still chart this week, but in the long run I don’t think it’ll be anywhere near as big as most of their 2017-18 singles.

And if this is truly the end of the road for their mainstream success, then I look forward to Todd’s inevitable Trainwreckords episode on Origins. That album is a disaster.

As for Origins, I haven't listened to it, but I don't think they should've released it so soon after Evolve, whose album cycle had just ended. They should've worked on the album more and released it in 2019 or 2020, which would give people enough of a break for them to be a welcome presence again.

Yep, rushing that album’s release was one of the worst things they could’ve possibly done, and it shows in the final product.

I’d still like to keep an open mind and wait until their next album comes out to determine whether Origins is truly a Trainwreckord, but given I’ve heard more people talk about how bad their new B-side single Cutthroat is than the quality of the track they’re actually pushing, that could be the case after all.

I did notice that the gap between Up and Leave the Door Open wasn't even that big this week. Up has been really steady on streaming.

Leave the Door Open would need to keep having monster gains on radio, go back to #1 on iTunes and build a massive lead there AND get a huge streaming boost to even keep up with Cardi from the (early) looks of things, but I do hope it's able to reach #1 after Up. It's probably the best record in the entire top 10.

I hope Wants and Needs is able to stick around for a second week in the top 10 and I wonder what song will be able to take Lemon Pepper Freestyle's spot and re-enter the top 10.

I honestly doubt it. The video's biggest boost was in terms of free streams. Audio streams experienced a small increase but still minimal. Maybe an additional 4k in sales? Biggest mistake was dropping it on a monday, the week before the grammys. If she dropped it friday and that + the grammys boost, easily top 10. The videos impact will be lessened by friday and the grammys most likely won't provide the boost that it needs for top 10 based on performance boosts from last year.

That reminds me of Hootie And The Blowfish's album Fairweather Johnson, which Todd covered on Trainwreckords a while back. That album was released shortly after the end of Cracked Rear View's album cycle, was super rushed and ended up flopping and tanking the band's mainstream career.
