Hoping for Up because LTDO will SURELY get to number one the week after Yeah, it's way too stable on sales and it's gaining way too fast on radio not to reach #1 in the next 2 weeks.

Get a massive number one hit or 2 or 3, vanish in thin air for 2 years and do it again lol

Surprised Up is apparently leading streaming this week so far considering it’s down (ha) to #7 on Spotify while LTDO is up to #2. I would like for Up to sneak a week in at #1 this week though since it’d be really anticlimactic for Drivers License to get back there this week and Leave The Door Open is gearing up to absolutely dominate the spring.

Is it still true that a Bruno song has never peaked at number 2?

Is it still true that a Bruno song has never peaked at number 2? Here are his top 10s by peak: 1 - Nothin on You, Just the Way You Are, Grenade, Locked Out of Heaven, When I Was Your Man, Uptown Funk, That's What I Like 3 - It Will Rain, Finesse, Please Me 4 - Billionaire, The Lazy Song, Lighters, 24K Magic, Leave the Door Open 5 - Treasure 7 - Young Wild & Free It's funny how he has so many that peaked at #1, #3, or #4. "LTDO" will obviously get a new peak, but still.

I was reading comments about radio vs. streaming, and about how radio carries some songs when it appears streaming doesn't merit the airplay.
There are people like myself who listen to radio in the car for an hour or so everyday and stream while at home. So, when a song like "Positions" is played heavily on radio, I get my fix, and haven't streamed it since the first week. There's no need to. I still enjoy that song when it comes on the radio, however-many spins later. Same goes for Blinding Lights, and many of the other big radio hits with heavy spin counts.
Point being, streams shouldn't dictate radio airplay - they are two different things which often converge and work in tandem for a large portion of people.
Radio could have been taken out by streaming entirely by now, but it hasn't been, because radio has its place in many peoples' lives, whether they also stream or not. If songs are tuning people out en masse, radio will stop playing them, and clearly that's not the case for some of these big hits. People still enjoy hearing them, even if the heavy streamers have long been burned on it.
As for sales, they shouldn't really dictate radio either. Sales may indicate interest, especially within certain genres, but they're at such small volumes these days, and for people like myself who use both radio and streaming, sales don't play into the equation at all.

I'm not saying radio stations should completely STOP playing Blinding Lights, but couldn't it be played like twice a week or sth? I know radio stations have their A, B, C, D etc playlists and I would put BL to my W list (still in rotation, but not played every fucking hour)

If it’s what people wanna listen to, then go right ahead and keep playing it. If it doesn’t affect the current single with its chart run, then it shall still continue to dominate as it should be. If it’s still high on streaming, then why question why its still high on radio as well?
I didn’t realize Pulse hated on so many things until these chart achievements started to come into place. Do you want the hot 100 to succeed or not? There is never going to be another song that can challenge the #1 spot of all time in a while, and the last song to ever truly do it was Smooth which was 2 decades ago, and if you wanna talk recently, Uptown Funk and Circles are the closest contenders yet they barely even cracked the top 5. Enjoy this moment of BL’s run because this is historic and something that wouldn’t be done in a long while from now.

At the rate US Spotify's going, it could have a day soon with no songs with more than 1 million daily streams. Not that it hasn't happened before - 34+35 managed to spend its entire time at #1 on US Spotify with less than 1M daily streams. OK. But you'd think that Drake just having released songs recently would have prevented that from happening.

Apple Music US updateWants and Needs, What's Next and Lemon Pepper Freestyle remain at #1, #2 & #4 respectively. Up is down 3 positions to #8 and Leave the Door Open is up 5 positions to #10. Up falling down is a huge surprise, and I think this pretty much assures that Leave the Door Open will be #1 on the Hot 100. It's outselling Up almost 4-to-1, and the gap on radio will continue to shrink with LTDO's rapid rise on that metric. That 4-1 ratio is only lasting like 2 days and it's closer to 3-1 with the clean version of up included. It's basically between up & DL this week. If up continues gaining on radio all of next week or even to a small amount, it's also got a chance to fight leave the door open next week for that top spot

Disappointed that neither "The Bigger Picture" nor "Hollywood's Bleeding" re-entered.
Delighted to see "Leave The Door Open" getting the biggest boost, though, alongside the "folklore" and "evermore" tracks. Very deserved ❤

I actually agree with this. Because I hear Ariana Grande, The Weeknd and Post Malone a lot on the radio, I find myself streaming their music much less. I will keep their music on in the car if it comes on the radio. I find myself streaming songs that I don’t hear much on the radio or in some cases long before they even get big on radio.

These grammy boosts are very surprising. Seems dua, bruno mars & anderson paak, billie and taylor got the biggest boosts > leave the door open seems to have the biggest.

I'm not so sure up is really declining in performance on streaming, it usually does great from wednesday - saturday and has massive drops from sunday - tuesday. It's pretty likely it'll rebound tomorrow. I wonder if it's radio has truly peaked so early b/c thats surprising. If it has completely stalled it's probably not going #1 unless DL has a huge streaming & airplay fall in the last few days. Bruno will take it next week, ofc unless up's radio keeps gaining slowly

I think "Up" just naturally hit the ceiling on some formats like RHY. Pop did slow down a bit but she's not a darling on that format ("Finesse", "Girls Like You" and "I Like It" being her only huge hits there)

It really is so unfortunate that Levitating peaked on radio when it did now that it’s staying pretty stable on streaming. Kinda ironic considering it happened almost the exact opposite way with Break My Heart lol
