I'm going to guess that "Poison" and "Take Me to Texas" exit next leaving four songs from Love Is Everything in the top 5.

Even though I know it was included on the album, I've never quite considered this as an actual album track from Cold Beer Conversation since it was actually released months earlier from the Texas Rising soundtrack. Besides that, I still love hearing this song of which sounds even better live as both George and the band just kill it.

I'm going to guess that "Poison" and "Take Me to Texas" exit next leaving four songs from Love Is Everything in the top 5. Well you were right about one of 'em! "Take Me To Texas" bows out next, causing Cold Beer Conversation to be our first album to be entirely eliminated! Out of all of George's Texas Pride songs, this is one of my favorites. There is just something so bad-ass about the melody, even when he's just listing the names of Texas cities, lmao. I remember this one having a bit of buzz as a potential single as well when it was first released (it came out a little bit before the album, and then was tacked on), but once the full album came out the chatter shifted moreso to "It Was Love" and "Everything I See". However, I have no doubt that "Take Me To Texas" would have connected in a big way in the Lone Star state. (And it wouldn't surprise me at all if tim is about to say "I hear this one on Texas radio from time to time")

I would've loved to see "When Love Comes Around Again" make the top 5, but definitely not if it had come at the expense of "Poison" (my condolences to .indulgecountry, however).

Imagine ranking this absolutely perfect song in your bottom 3!!!!!! "When Love Comes Around Again" didn't get a lot of hate outside of that one egregious rank, but it still struggled to gain its footing a bit at first. Until .indulgecountry , myself, and LBTrocks gave it a 1-2-3 punch that made it a guaranteed top 10 contender! gardyfan even tried to help us get it to the top 5, but Cody Wants Out... rejected the motion... I just cannot get enough of this melody. Even 7 years later, it continues to get better every time I hear it. The fact that this is only my #3 speaks to how much I love some of the songs that are remaining!!

The top 5!!!!
Poison Sittin’ On The Fence Some Nights That’s What Breaking Hearts Do When The Credits Roll
I'll give y'all a couple minutes to make predictions if you want to!!

Here are my predictions for the top 5:
5. Sittin’ On The Fence 4. Poison 3. When the Credits Roll 2. That’s What Breaking Hearts Do 1. Some Nights
While I think both #4 and #5 could swap places, I'm feeling pretty confident in my predictions for the top 3. "That's What Breaking Hearts Do" is the wild card, though, as I think it just as easily could come out on top.

"Poison" finally makes its exit, much to .indulgecountry's delight and gonecountry's dismay... This song was actually one of our first reliable top 2 contenders, until .indulgecountry's list made it more of a low-bottom-5 contender. Believe it or not, indie was not the last person to have their last place remaining... Who could possibly hate anything that is left?!?!!? Find out...in a few reveals ;)

I've been anticipating the exit of "Poison" ever since the top 12 or so and alas I'm thrilled to see it make the top 5. This is by far one of my favorite album tracks of his from this decade and one that I still revisit to this day. Very few artists other than George could pull a song like this off as his voice just captures the right emotions surrounding the lyrics.

Just like that, Here For A Good Time and Honky Tonk Time Machine face back-to-back eliminations from this rankdown, leaving our final album Love Is Everything to occupy the entire top 3!!!! "Some Nights" is of course the big fan favorite from HTTM, which many feel should have been a single, so it is no surprise to me to see it do so well. Personally I have always found the chorus melody to be a teeeeensy bit on the weak side, which resulted in a shockingly low ranking from me that is probably MUCH lower than I would have ranked it in relation to its parent album, where it would have been an easy top 5, lol. "She took off down the road towards Austin, and I lost it" feels like one of those iconic opening lines that would stand out alongside some of his memorable hits, like "Pardon me, you left your tears on the jukebox", "Baby all I've got's this beat up leather bag", "She looked so much like a lady, but she was so much like a child", etc. Fans of "Some Nights" may think it must have been close, considering it got the most #1 ranks of any song in this rankdown, however, I must let y'all know that in the end it fell nearly 20 points shy of the #3 finisher I could not believe what powerful contenders this top 3 proved to be!!!

"Sittin' On the Fence" is a great song, but top 3 for this decade?! Here's hoping y'all at least get the top 2 correct.

Lowkey thought "Some Night" would be a possible winner here, lol.
Glad "Poison" is at least finally gone!

"Sittin' On the Fence" is a great song, but top 3 for this decade?! Here's hoping y'all at least get the top 2 correct. It's such a perfect example of George's knack for witty hooks I LOVE the wordplay of "Sitting on a stool, sitting on the fence" describing a man who is sitting in a bar contemplating his relationship. And the melody is insanely catchy to boot! Similar to "When Love Comes Around Again", this has continued to grow on me with every new listen, and gets better with each passing year I am similarly surprised to see it be as strong of a contender as it was, but I don't think it was undeserved by any means! And yet despite a whopping seven of us putting it in our top 5, it was still not really enough to infiltrate this top 2. I also think it's kinda funny that out of seven of us putting it in our top 5s, nobody managed to get a perfect ranking

I wouldn't have guessed "Sittin' On The Fence" to pick up so much support from within the top 5 as I thought it would exit just before the top 10 honestly. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, though, as bboat11 pretty much touched on all the same reasons which draws me to this song as well. I'm still just reeling a bit from the previous reveal...

Anyone surprised? Which one are you rooting for?!?! Well, you're talking to an audience of one (I think at least lol)...I'm happy with either one of these winning, though! I honestly went into the top 5 thinking "That's What Breaking Hearts Do" stood the best chance of coming out ahead, so I'll stick to my guns on that one.
