I know but it feels like a 10 week #1. Hope it returns. eh, i've heard it once, and IRL haven't seen anyone talk about it. unlike, say, montero or up. Peaches is bigger globally and it's on practically every Instagram story ever for the last month so that's probably he he said it feels like a 10 week #1. It's only behind on Spotify by a bit but it's way bigger right now on YouTube, apple music US and WW, smashing in korea platforms (1m streams a day there) and barely behind on Spotify. It will be bigger in the US than Montero as well because it has radio support. It is also the 3rd fastest song in history to reach 200m streams. No live performance or NPR version releases yet either unlike the other song which has all these versions.

I don't know if we talked about this but how many repeats are there gonna be this year? And is this the least amount of repeats in some time?

I don't know if we talked about this but how many repeats are there gonna be this year? And is this the least amount of repeats in some time? Most likely 8, which would be the least since 2015. I already explained it over in the 2021 YE thread yesterday ( here's the post).

1. Is Drivers License (17 days) 2. 7 rings, Senorita (21 days) 3. Thank u, next, shape of you, peaches (27 days)
So it's tied for 3rd with those two.
This is based on numerous update accounts but if they're wrong somebody can feel free to correct them so I can let them know.
I think Montero has a chance of making it to #3 or #2 maybe as well but it started off slow on global so who knows

Yeah peaches is justin's biggest hit since love yourself Despacito? Itβs funny how people donβt consider that his song even though it would have never crossed over into English speaking countries without him.

Despacito was a worldwide smash even before Justin Bieber tagged along. I still think it would have gotten to #1 anyway without the remix. The original version had much more longevity than the remix and the charts were getting weaker as the summer of 2017 progressed (until Taylor released LWYMMD). Unless you really thought Wild Thoughts was going to spend 6+ weeks at #1, then Despacito was going to get there eventually Bieber or no Bieber.

Despacito was already a huge hit Latin America and reached #43 in the US before the remix but there's no way it would've went #1 without Bieber, Pop radio wouldn't touch the song with 10 foot pole without Bieber's help. It jumped 48-9 after the remix indicating that it had already peaked pre-Bieber and was likely on it's way out.

Hmm I don't think DV falls that much, its streams on Spotify were down only 500k and it's up on radio. Of course there are two new entries above it which has an effect.

We were talking about 1991 but look at 2016, this was only 5 years ago and most of these are no longer relevant.
