The song hasn't re-entered on Spotify 200 yet, though, so I'm sure on the possibility of it pulling a "Truth Hurts". It would be amazing if it happened, though. |

Trapstar I feel like thatβs what it takes to get a hit, just have the word star in there. βStarboyβ, βrockstarβ and βROCKSTARβ were all #1 hits, and were the biggest songs of each artistβs respective careers (at the time). Thereβs also βPopstarβ and βCounting Starsβ just to name a few as well. |

Apple Music is not really a streaming service where you can buy streams or fake success. The only platforms thatβs been shown to be notable to some extent on are YouTube & Spotify β that comes down free accounts and playlists being strong drivers on both services. Apple is paid accounts only, so the fact he's #1 on AM (with likely bigger numbers than Spotify) shows its general interest. As someone said on the first page that Polo G song was really hyped by fans after snippets so Iβm guessing itβs just word of mouth which ofcourse is most prevalent in Hip-Hop music where underground names can explode on streaming overnight. Itβs hilarious though because Pop stans hype singles based on snippets over social media and it can seem to be such a huge deal with the amount of interaction they give it (Stupid Love, Motivation, Prisoner, etc) yet those songs absolutely pale in numbers compared to lesser known rappers who have some hype with their upcoming singles. Mostly all this just goes to show that music has so many different demographics that things that seem like such a big deal in one go virtually unnoticed in others. And for whatβs itβs worth Pop stans have just become a loud minority versus a silent majority. Most people I encounter in real life probably have not truly listened to a song by these βpop girlsβ in years and have really no interest in them. This is also a structural inequality that gives Rap an advantage in the streaming era. Even people that aren't the superfans of a particular rapper are probably going to listen to a rap song more times than they listen to a pop song just so they can get the words. So even with a very catchy pop, it's a strong possibility that the rap song would get more streams. Same for the snippets that tease the songs. This is a reversal from the sales era, where people were rushing out to buy the pop songs, then they'd give them listens while they're popular and then stop listening once they fade. During the sales era, rap consumption wasn't known b/c once you bought the CD no one knows how many times you listened to it to learn every bit of that rap. Now we know. |

Fearless (Taylor's Version) garnered 31.6 million streams yesterday and the drop is comparable to Taylor's other releases in recent years, so I don't know why you decided to type a sentence like this (remembering some of your previous posts in these threads makes it pretty obvious now, though). |

^Nope. Different formulas. Unit Consumption. (Nielsen) 1 sale = 125 paid streams = 375 free streams Billboard Hot 100. 1 sale = 250 paid streams = 375 free streams Notice the difference. Oh an i should mention that based on Nielsen's Year-End Report in 2020 85.6% of the audio streams in the US are paid while 14.4% are free.
So yea sales are counted twice higher than they should. We have been over this 100 times ...

its expectedly dominating AM. i wonder how it is on youtube & airplay? i personally want week 3 for montero but new faces are always fun

A number 1 album (and a string of hits on the Hot 100) is more than enough for Taylor Swift to claim the re-recording project a massive success. And after having listened to this album over the weekend, the re-dos beat and exceed the originals in nearly every way!!! If this is what we're in store for all through 2021, we better start calling it the year of Taylor... again!! Seriously tho what she's doing is a re-write of pop music history. This will change the game. |

Also LTDO won't have the same streaming boost from the live version that it had this week. |
