Montero is already back to #1 on itunes and several other versions of the song have jumped back into the top 100. Apple music is glitching with it showing 2 versions of the song, but you can prolly assume it's gotten some gains as a result. Guess he's gonna be disappointed when his weird tactic still wont help his song go #1, rapstar is still going strong and is basically locked for #1. Don't see it going #1 again (unless he drops a remix which knowing him is inevitable) b/c it will prolly be between rapstar, LTDO or peaches. He already went #1, I can't imagine he's personally worried about it going #1 again. |

Like a lot of people on here, I'm not a fan of how songs are becoming shorter and shorter.
But for me personally, Astronaut in the Ocean is a song that definitely benefits from being around 2 minutes. Like I don't think I would want a full 3.5 minutes of that lol, but 2 minutes is kind of fun!

But for me personally, Astronaut in the Ocean is a song that definitely benefits from being around 2 minutes. Like I don't think I would want a full 3.5 minutes of that lol, but 2 minutes is kind of fun! Panini by Lil Nas X is another great example of a song that benefits from a short runtime, IMO. I feel like if it had more parts to it, it would feel a bit too played-out by the end, but as it is, it really gets the job done. (To be fair, I like the DaBaby remix too, but I think I like the original a shade more for the above reason.) |

I also noticed the similarity between "Astronaut in the Ocean" and "Nonstop". It's subtle, but I can hear it. I liked "Nonstop" a lot, too.

Why are people saying Kiss Me More “samples” Physical? The similarity is literally three eighth notes and they don’t even repeat like in “Prisoner”. It’s such a simple melody too “mi-mi-re”. Idk how a song can have a claim over a note combination so simple like that unless it’s part of a larger pattern or repetition like in Prisoner. Sure it can definitely remind you of that same musical pattern from a past song, but sampling? I don’t see it.
Also I feel like it should be referred to as an interpolation rather than a sample.
No hate intended, I think the song is a total bop and I just get kinda confused by people being quick to say it outright samples Physical.

Not sure what the difference between an interpolate and a sample is? I never caught the “Physical” sample at first on “Kiss Me More” but after I was made aware of it I can’t escape the influence on it. She replaced the lyric “Let’s Get Physical” with “Can You Kiss Me More.”
