This became the fifth Billboard AAA #1 of 2021 this week. This is The Black Keys' sixth #1 on the AAA charts.
They scored two in 2019 with "Go" and "Lo/Hi," two in 2014 with "Fever" and "Gotta Get Away" and their debut chart topper in 2011 with "Lonely Boy."

As expected... already dropping. 2 4 BLACK KEYS Crawling Kingsnake 579 609 -30 0.971 I expect this will finally show up on the Billboard AAA panel this week. Question will be if Coldplay takes the top spot like in MB or if it’s Modest Mouse who leapfrogged Coldplay last week to 2 in Billboard.

Question will be if Coldplay takes the top spot like in MB or if it’s Modest Mouse who leapfrogged Coldplay last week to 2 in Billboard. No way Coldplay tops Billboard because 1) There is a mini (but not huge, as compared to Imagine Dragons or twenty one pilots. Unlike them, they could at least make the noncomm top 50) non-commercial block for Coldplay, which already puts Billboard at a loss since Billboard has about 17 or so more stations than Mediabase, majority which are non-commercials. A DJ from WXPN - which is on both panels, as well as the host of World Cafe (which is broadcast on multiple non-commercials), have publicly expressed their dislike of the Coldplay song. Might have to do with the fact that a pop producer produced the song, even though some of these have no problem playing Silk Sonic and SZA. Some of the noncomms like WAPS and KVOQ are more understanding so they are not the problem. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Stations which have not added "Higher Power", at least to my memory. That's 16 stations, even if three of those are on MB as well.: KCMP-FM, KCSN-FM, KJAC-FM, KRSH-FM, KTBG-FM, KUTX-FM, WCLX-FM, WDST-FM, WERS-FM, WFUV-FM, WNXP-FM, WRSI-FM, WTMD-FM, WXPN-FM, WYEP-FM, WYMS-FM 2) Leon Bridges is charging up the chart now and will inevitably pass Coldplay on Billboard. 3) Mediabase also has an AAA, KYMK, who tends to boost mainly the alternative crossovers, and they are boosting this song. (even if Modest Mouse is in medium rotation for them) Though I don't take KYMK seriously because they play Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Rise Against as Golds.

Thanks for the insights. That really helps break down the differences. It seems AAA has the biggest gap between Billboard and MB due to the noncomm reporters on BB (not that I usually mind…I personally think the NPR noncomms typically have the most interesting playlists).

Is it OK to say I wasn't a big fan of this song after a few spins? I love The Black Keys, but this one just didn't do it for me after awhile.
