Premieres in 8 hours time. This is from a covers album so I'm not expecting this to do as well as their previous singles.

There's real George Thorogood vibes coming from this, this is nice and dirty rock music, and although I am not familiar with the original this sounds like it's a faithful rendition but translated into The Black Keys' style. AAA is going to be all over this, I could see Active loving it too.
A radio edit is out along with the full version:

Impacts Active and Alternative on April 20, 2021. No AAA adds date yet but It’ll probably have one soon enough.

Wow I dig this a lot. Sounds like their first couple of albums when they were more blues sounding.

Yeah this is great! I wish they’d bring back that Rubber Factory throwback sound for an album of originals, maybe this is a sign the next record after will be a return to form, but we shall see.

This is cool. I don't hear catchy top 10 radio material here, but it's a good album rock track.

This is great gritty rock music with swagger right here. Love the groove on this one.

This is modern day Blues Rock at its best. I really like the instrumentals and especially guitar solo before the end. I wish the vocals weren't so distorted, but that's probably what they were trying for here anyway.

Love it.
I once saw The Black Keys do a very small concert inside a record store in Indianapolis in 2005-ish. (MAYBE 50 people) One of those bands that sounds the same no matter how you’re listening or where you’re watching them.

I feel that Dan Auerbach's work with several Americana artists might have influenced the return to blues rock. (Those who follow AAA should know some of these, Marcus King and Aaron Frazer specifically) Anything released under Easy Eye Sound is usually produced by him.

I'm really liking this one. Yes, it's a cover of a classic blues song, but they bring the right swagger and grit to it. Blues need to be dirty, and this has that in spades. And I much prefer the longer version with the extensive soloing over the trimmed down radio edit.
And for fun, a few of the notable versions from over the years:
Junior Kimbrough version (1994) - the version Black Keys cite for their cover:
Big Joe Williams (songs dates to the 1920s, but this is the oldest known recorded version - 1941):
John Lee Hooker (1948) - Probably most famous version:
The Doors (1971):

I had no doubt AAA was going to eat up a classic sound like this. Let’s see how Alt treats it over the summer. It’s a breath of fresh air for sure.
