The transition from "Country Again" to "Put It On Ice" gave me whiplash. One of his career-best tracks, then one of his worst.
"Want It Again," "Growing Up," "Heaven Right Now," and "Country Again" are the standouts for me. "To The Guys That Date My Girls" is one of the more interesting songs conceptually, but the production brings it down a bit.
Everything else I could take or leave.

The production here is really great but I think he dug a little too strongly into the “country means fishing hunting and loving everyday” theme going on here.
I totally agree “Put it on Ice” is a travesty and I cannot believe on his fifth album he is recording something worse than the worst songs on his debut album.
With a title like “Ya Heard” I rolled my eyes before hearing it but I was not prepared for that country-folk excellence in the production and it being a personal song between God and Thomas. That is so well done. I said it before but he is doing an amazing job at taking his extremely personal experiences and writing them in a way that is relatable to the masses.
Other highlights for me are Growing Up, More Time Fishin, Country Again, Blame it on a Backroad and of course What’s Your Country Song.
I love the idea of the song about the guys who date his daughters but aside from the main hook on the chorus it kinda falls flat.
Overall it’s a good effort but I’m ready for Side B.

Gotta say for an album that is clearly marketed as a "return" to country music the amount of poorly done programmed drums across the record us pretty flagrant

First week sales prediction is 13-15k pure sales and 28-33k SPS. That seems...not very good, even with album sales what they are these days. It’s like a 60% drop from Center Point Road if it hits the high end of predictions.

Tbh both Eric Church albums dropped by around 60%, but obviously EC sales before > TR sales before to begin with. If I remember correctly, most CD shops in the US are closed or diminished in size, so not many CDs are available to begin with. Also prepare for more steep drops for upcoming big releases like Blake Shelton.

Most CD stores are still open because they've added more vinyl the last few years but the big retailers like Target and Wal-Mart have all but dropped them in stores.

I'm really annoyed with the lack of compact discs at Wal-Mart now. I live in a small town, and it's literally the only place I can buy music besides ordering online. They still carry two rows of CD's and I actually found this today! (haven't listened yet). O/T- They also had the Eric EP's 'Heart' and 'Soul', for 10.97 each. Did they even bother releasing '&' on disc? I haven't even found it online.

Yeah those numbers are pretty bad for someone like Thomas Rhett. Those numbers are identical to Kelsea's numbers last year and Thomas has a lot more name recognition than Kelsea.

I do wonder how much albums themselves are becoming obsolete? I feel like most consumers just buy or listen to the songs they like instead of buying the whole project.
