Radio is going to hold back Levitating from taking the #1. It's currently well behind LTDO and Peaches in terms of audience impressions, and even if it continues to gain throughout the week, it may not be enough. I'd say next week is plausible before BTS barges in, but then it has to deal with Olivia, Nicki, and J. Cole, so who knows?

"Levitating" is a cute and fun song, but it really blows my mind that it has done so well and is a contender for the year-end number 1 because it just doesn't seem that special. Am I missing something? Like it's hard to imagine this song being remembered as a classic years from now. No disrespect, it's a fun song, I just don't get how it's so big. Plenty of songs are remembered as classics simply for being really cute and fun. Being fun can be an exceptional trait on its own. Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go anyone? |

Apparently it was done as a way to try to get the song to #1, but Old Town Road was still way too strong at the time. And boy, am I glad that the remix never once got credited on the Hot 100, because it suuuuuuucks. |

Just gave it a listen, itβs terrible, Bieber sounds so bad on this with a combination of the autotune and him trying to copy Billieβs flow itβs just not good. Billie sounds like a far more convincing bad guy than Biebs. |

Low key I prefer the Bieber remix to the original. Might just bw because I heard it first, IDK. But it just fits in a way he doesn't on CERTAIN OTHER remixes.

And speaking if Despacito, Ed Sheeran wanted to record a remix of it but lost out to Bieber, now just imagine if that went through, we wouldβve had Shape of You, Despacito and Perfect all number ones for a combined 30 weeks at 1 for Sheeran, he wouldβve owned this year even more.

And while I still prefer the original if only because I like the outro goes on a bit longer, I have come to really love DaBaby's presence. Sure, he's not saying anything amazing but it's no different than when Cardi or Ludacris would do guest collabs. The complimenting energy works the same way Young Thug on Havana or Ol' Dirty Bastard worked on Fantasy. In the almost three decades of pop-rap crossover, let me comfortably say this is far from the worst rap guest verse on a pop song and it's nowhere near DaBaby's worst verses. |
