it debuted at #21 on TTH. Which is very reasonable considering shes a very NEW artist, and it shot up after it performed better. TTH placement has NOTHING to do with that, it's not in the labels control. Deja vu was also not placed that high. It was definitely meant as a single lmao not all songs are initially sent to radio. It's a lot more likely that it was a single than not one. No way they didn't know that song was gonna smash.

Does anyone have any sense of Butter’s total sales? I feel like at this point during Dynamite’s week we heard of crazy numbers but it’s been only hearing olivia’s crazy numbers so far

Also two questions on sales:
1. When did the 4 units rule come into effect? It seems like it should either be 1 or no rule, there’s no difference between owning one digital copy and four given you can just copy an mp3 file
2. Why does Butter list at 69¢ on their website? If it’s just trying to game the system why not make it 39¢ or whatever the minimum is to maximize bulk buying

It might honestly spend the rest of its run there, it's been in the bottom 10 for a while now. Honestly won't be shocked if that's how it locks onto year-end that way, the fact that it managed to even come back in a week with 21 debuts(!!!) is pretty crazy

I think weeks 77 and 78 are locked for Blinding Lights, based on the boost in sales it got during the BBMAs, and the upcoming iHeartRadio awards on Thursday night. Based on the boost it got yesterday, I'd expect something similar for BL on Friday, which is the first day of the 6/12 tracking week.

I said it over on the 5/29 thread, but it probably came back because Morgan’s contract with Big Loud recently got reinstated, so his music got added back on playlists. I don’t know if it’ll rack up the points it needs to make the 2021 YE (it needs about 83 points per week to do that, given where it came back to), but it’s definitely a worrying sign going forward if he’s going to pick the worst songs off of his last album to push as singles.

Unless a viral track somehow comes through, my money is on Good 4 U. Butter is also a possibility, but I'm not sure how long it's going to last near the top.

By the way, does Billboard use inverse points or real points to calculate the SOTS race?
