Well, if the essays serve to delegitimize Billboard and threaten its reputation as a chart authority, that might prompt them to make some belated changes. Such things have happened before.

I promise you billboard does not care at all about what this forum or a few people on stan twitter have to say.

More BTS drama? Just because the single(s) were discounted to 69 cents, which is perfectly within Billboard's rules? No doubt the drama will continue when the physical singles are shipped out, and those send the single rocketing back up the chart- also perfectly acceptable within the rules.
All acts have the capability to push their product as much and as legitimately as they can- some do it, and care about it, more than others. That's all.

Scratch what I said about this thread being tame, this is getting interesting lmao And to be clear, I wouldn't believe that without proof.

2-3 of those pages will be posts of new debuts, various charts for the week. It's possible.

Let's all hope that Billboard will get rid of sales entirely although that is wishful thinking. No they shouldn't... Not everybody wants to stream?? I know other people (like myself) who still purchase music. The Top song still sells 20,000 copies (I think) and yes it should be counted. Should they stop these multiple strange sales. Of course.

I think that making the sales rules consistent and bringing the Hot 100 and Canadian 100 in line with the global sales rules would be worthwhile.

what's the difference between what BTS did and what Taylor did for Me! or Gaga bundling jockstraps or Lil Nas with the remixes? It's the chart game. Even us Little Monsters don't remember those jockstraps but glad you do. Speaking of jockstraps, Lil Nas X's new one debuts at #66. That's not good...

Well I hope people take note and take all talk about Global stuff over there. That's why it's there I guess. I'm sure I'm not the only one who just comes to this thread for the Hot 100 and not a war on who does better in other countries when this is the US HOT 100 thread. I probably wouldn't mind but reading through 3 pages of stuff from Wiki about peaks in other countries is getting a bit much if there's another thread for that. Prove your points in that one.

While you are at it, can you bring back the recurrent chart?

Buying will still be an issue whether fans can buy multiple or a few. Theyβll just make multiple accounts and teach each other to adjust so no matter what, these things will happen. The BTS fandom especially runs like a machine. At this point, I guess itβs good their streams get filtered the way they do.

You guys act like there are millions of BTS fans buying multiple copies. When you break it down, it's not many at all.

Speaking of jockstraps, Lil Nas X's new one debuts at #66. That's not good... Think it was more meant to be akin to a promo single rather than a full-fledged one: "MONTERO" is in full swing at radio and I doubt Lil Nas would just stop everything going for it in place of another single

This does have a promo feel about it. Just some fresh content to sate the appetite for the debut album. Meanwhile, isn't it worth commenting on how remarkable it is that Olivia Rodrigo of all people had a debut album before Lil Nas X?

Iβm out of touch with how the charts work these days and whatβs going on this week but can someone explain the issue with website sales? I tried to find what the problem was by searching this thread but could not find an explanation.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie really fell off. He was never huge seemingly, but he barely charted despite a Lil Durk feature.

Do we know if anything went recurrent so far this week? Not yet. And no predictor I've seen has anything listed as expected to go recurrent. Some low-charting songs like The Business, La Noche De Anoche, and Lady could be cut off early this week. On Me is also close to the threshold, but I think it has a better chance to leave next week, along with Streets and Hell of a View (and Lady if it doesn't leave this week).

With there being 15 debuts, I'd be willing to bet at least one went recurrent. It's pretty much impossible to have that many debuts, and none go recurrent, unless at least ten J Cole songs fell off. Either On Me or One Too Many fell off. I hope it's the latter because that song really has no business being on the Hot 100.

One Too Many has been exempted from recurrency thanks to the radio bullet rule for the past few weeks and considering it hasn't stopped gaining there I doubt it got booted just now, so probably On Me yeah
