1974 hit that I remember as part of that Time Life "Sounds of the 70s" commercial. This song's chorus also came to mind for me after the Cubs blew it against the Florida Marlins in the 2003 NLCS. I didn't even know the song in full until I heard it on a 1974 episode of "American Top 40 w/Casey Kasem" on Mixcloud. The name theme of this song was about Al Capone but I found it weird that the lyrics mention the East Side of Chicago. There is no East Side of Chicago! (unless one prefers to NW Indiana, such as Gary or Hammond). There's the North Side, the South Side, and the West Side, and Downtown. The "East Side" is Lake Michigan. Despite the awkwardness, I do enjoy this song. Paper Lace - The Night Chicago Died www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-L0NpaErkk
