www.radio-info.com/mods/board?Board=nyc&Post=325925&page=EDBEAL67RAPKING (it's not the exact same username he used on the R&R boards but I'm assuming it's the same guy) posted: "WBLS ,Black Music , Black Station , Black Ownership . What do you think about this statement on WBLS ? and is this statement for Blacks to stop listening to Hot 97 and Kiss FM and Power 105 ?" From me: WBLS is behind WQHT (Hot), WRKS (Kiss), and WWPR (Power) in the ratings.

and is this statement for Blacks to stop listening to Hot 97 and Kiss FM and Power 105 ?" No, I'd say it's their shitty playlist and the fact that they're the lowest ranked Urban station in New York. For years, they've been making desperate attempts at winning over urban listeners, and this is another one. But they just can't succeed.

Why can't WBLS make this statement: WBLS New York: an Inner City Broadcasting station.

Why can't WBLS make this statement: WBLS New York: an Inner City Broadcasting station. Because they want to be the black heritage station in New York because they need something to set themselves apart from their three biggest competitors. Unfortunately for them, the sole thing drawing a single listener is Wendy Williams's show.

I heard this statement the other day and was kind of like "huh?" So do they want non-black people to stop listening or something? It was pretty insulting actually.
