I want to just point out some highlights here regarding website sales people have noted:

First, Billboard ABSOLUTELY caters to certain artists. The fact that Butter can be #1 this week instead of Good 4 U says it all. Their chart account, billboardcharts, literally went from 700k to 1.6 million followers in the span of a few weeks thanks to Dynamite. Billboard will obviously care more about getting their support than one labels'. It might not seem like it because no one else has such a huge fanbase like BTS, but it does occur. On the flip side, this means that people who dislike them, such as people from Interscope, will not be able to speak as openly about it as normal, because they aren't going to risk getting attacked by BTS' huge fanbase. I wouldn't, especially when Billboard themselves seem to favor this.

Secondly, you're wrong if you think the Gooba fiasco was what caused Billboard to do ANYTHING. If this was the case, they wouldn't have made a huge article defending Ariana & Justin over 6ix9ine. In addition, more people generally like Ariana over 6ix9ine so they'd support her. Nothing from this situation caused any rule changes. What did though were "Trollz" and Kenny Chesney blocking Drake on the albums chart.

At this point, since it's very unlikely any artists will speak out on it in the risk of getting doxxed or something and since Billboard favors it, "Butter" would basically need to spend the rest of the year at #1 or a BTS song would need to block Drake's single from #1 first week for Billboard to do anything about it.

Baby Yoda usually includes gains for songs that've gained the most and once Butter hasn't even been Top 20 in terms of gains the past week

I'm willing to meet them in the middle. I can concede Butter being the #1 song for the last 3 weeks. It has a case for those weeks, even if debatable. This week, however, there is no debate. Good 4 u was leading the race for the entire week, and should be #1 on the Hot 100 this charting week. If a half day of mass buying can override that, then the rules need to be changed.
