Very curious how FVOTY is going to go. It's getting hella competitive and I love it. As of now I would love to see that category go
Kelsea Carly Miranda Carrie Maren
Of those five I would love for Carly to take it (or even maybe Kelsea.) I know commercial wise there are much bigger names in the category than Carly, but she has had so much going for her over the past year career wise. Also, wouldn't mind Kelsea taking it because I kind of feel like she's overdue a win, but I get the vibe she doesn't have a big voting pull considering last year she didn't make the category all together.
Three others that could get in there too are Ashley (who is a critical favorite), Kacey (who is set to release an album this fall that might put her to the front of the voters minds), and maybe even Gabby (which seems less likely as I suspect she'll probably take best new artist this year and graduate to the next category next year.)

I thought Morgan Wallen couldn't be nominated in the Entertainer (I hope like hell he isn't as it would be an awful look for the CMAs given all the controversy).
Also I think Carly Pearce gets in for Female over Gabby since Carly has a bit more critical acclaim not to mention she is riding the hype of her Opry membership which can't be undersold.

Yeah, I think Kelsea, Carly, Miranda and Maren are locks. I would also love to see Kelsea or Carly get it - but probably Kelsea would be my pick. She does so much for the industry outside of traditional mediums, but I look for it to go back to Miranda. She's really had several big hits this last year. I just don't know if they are going to go with the standard name - Carrie - or the up-and-comer - Gabby. Gabby is done more, but I always feel with this rewards - especially the CMA's - that they make artists 'pay their dues' and I'm not sure if the industry as a whole views Gabby as doing that yet. I'm going to go 60% sure on Carrie at the moment....but I think Kelsea, Carly, Miranda and Maren are 100% absolute locks. I would be stunned if any of the four of them miss out.

I am probably going to hold off on making predictions until we know who made it to the second round of voting. I was surprised to see that “Still Woman Enough” isn’t being submitted. It would be cool to see Miss Loretta Lynn honored in that way. Unless it is being submitted and I just missed something.

I am always interested to see who will make the cut for New Artist.
2020 Nominees: Morgan Wallen (winner) Carly Pearce (ineligible) Gabby Barrett Ingrid Andress Jimmie Allen
2019 Nominees: Ashley McBryde (winner) Midland (ineligible) Cody Johnson Carly Pearce (ineligible) Morgan Wallen (ineligible)
I could very easily see all three of the currently eligible 2020 nominees be nominated again in 2021. In the past five years the only New Artist nominees (non-winner) to be only nominated once are Brothers Osborne, Chris Janson, and Cody Johnson. None of the 2019 nominees are viable this year.
So far: HARDY, Jameson Rogers, Jordan Davis, Matt Stell, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Ryan Hurd have officially "entered" the category. I see Mickey Guyton, Lainey Wilson, Russell Dickerson, and Tenille Arts most certainly entertaining the category.
I really think it's down to the last two spots after Gabby, Ingrid, and Jimmie make up three. It seems likely Mickey Guyton could have a slot, which she really should have last year. I don't think Tenille or Lainey grab a spot this year but most certainly will in the ACM New Female category. The Jordan Davis/Russell Dickerson duo that have been around for some time now have never had a nom, but I don't think they'll get one at this point. My gut tells me HARDY gets the last spot, but if the CMA voters treat Ryan Hurd like Maren and nominate the crap out of their duet, he could definitely take a spot.
2021 Predictions, in order of winner likelihood: Gabby Barrett Mickey Guyton Ingrid Andress Jimmie Allen HARDY

How can Matt Stell submit “That ain’t me no more” for vocal event? It should say music video. I guess Maddie & Tae's submission of DFABH this year explains why they weren't nominated last year - the song must not have been eligible for some reason?

It would’ve been eligible for Song, but the label probably wanted to wait it was eligible for Single to submit for both (to be eligible for Single, a song needs to reach the Top 10 on Billboard Country Airplay, Hot Country Songs or Aircheck/MB. For songs that are older than the eligibility period, they need to have reached their highest peak during the current eligibility period). I know sometimes they’ll remove songs during each round, so there’s a chance it could be removed from Song although given how weak the competition is for that category this year, I hope it’s eligible & nominated.

I actually don’t know how convinced I am that Maren Morris is a FVOTY lock this year. Her 2021 has been pretty quiet. I don’t know how well “Better Than We Found It” will fare with the voting body, her success with “The Bones” was highlighted at last year’s show, and she hasn’t had any other big thing come out this past year besides her collab with Ryan Hurd. I’d say she’s on thinner ice than Kelsea, Carrie, and Carly.
I think FVOTY will consist of: Gabby Barrett, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and any 2 of Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, or Carly Pearce taking the 4th & 5th slots. I truly don’t see CU losing her spot here in the same way she did at the ACMs; My Savior has been an undeniable force.

With Maren song With Ryan Hurd is played on the radio all the time here where I live so that could help her. It’s gonna be between “Chasing After You” and “Next Girl”. I like both songs but I think that “Next Girl” is not gonna be award show friendly like “Hope You’re Happy Now”

Maybe not on the same level as Miranda or Carrie, but close to their level. I think she has way more support from voters too and she's very well liked.

I like both songs but I think that “Next Girl” is not gonna be award show friendly like “Hope You’re Happy Now” I think it's a strong contender for Song of the Year given the competition for that category is pretty weak this year in my opinion. It also got the MusicRow nomination for Song of the Year which will help Carly's chances in the category. While I'm on the topic of Song of the Year, I would really like to see these be the 5 nominations: "Starting Over", "Black Like Me", "Next Girl", "Better Than We Found It" and "Things A Man Oughta Know". I don't see Maren getting a nomination this year, but I think "Better Than We Found It" has a strong message.

I definitely agree with you there — I do think she’s on the same level as an almost default-candidate like ML and CU are. But…ML and CU also became that way during a 10-15 year time period where there was rarely ever a year with enough eligible females seeing success that could create competition. I do think Maren will be included this year, ultimately (though again I’m not sold on her being an absolute lock). I know it’s sacrilegious to say around PMB, but I unfortunately can see Carly Pearce being left off the final ballot.

I could also see Carly getting left off the final ballot although I wouldn't be shocked if Kelsea was left out since she's on an independent label. I feel like that might be a disadvantage for her. She also has never been an awards darling which doesn't help her case. Although I think Gabby had one of the biggest years, I just feel like she's too new for the category. Carly, in my opinion, has earned her spot for the category over Gabby and I would love to see her get the nomination (my hopes for nominations are Carrie, Miranda, Maren, Kelsea and Carly).

I really don't see Carly getting left off the final ballot this year. The amount of critical praise she's seen makes me believe she is almost a lock. From the 29 album, to the ACM wins, to the Opry invitation; I almost feel like its a given. I do think Maren could get left off because her year has been pretty quiet, but like others said she's gotten bigger over the past few years so idk if they'd leave her off. There is a chance though because Kacey has been left off in the past even though she's relatively big. On a different note, do we see The Good Ones getting nominated anywhere? I think it should be in serious consideration for a single of the year nomination, but don't know if the CMA voters are going to turn a blind eye to her success, much like they have with Carrie's over the years.

I think it should be in serious consideration for a single of the year nomination, but don't know if the CMA voters are going to turn a blind eye to her success, much like they have with Carrie's over the years. "The Good Ones" is a lock for Single of the Year. It also automatically makes it to the 2nd round ballot since it's one of the 5 biggest country hits of the year. I think Gabby has a good shot at winning the category along with New Artist. The song was a massive hit. The only other song I could see beating it out is "Forever After All" which in my opinion should win. Also I'm more confident in Maren getting in and not having a Kacey type of year because she hasn't been completely absent from the charts and she has managed to stay as one of the main faces of the genre. No shade to Kacey, but after the Grammy's, nobody was really talking about her and she didn't really have a big presence at that time.

I agree, but what if they do to Ashley McBryde what they did to Kacey. if that is so it'll be Morris, Lambert, Underwood, Ballerini and McBryde

I love Ashley McBryde but I think Carly Pearce is much more likely. I think when they had Kacey in the category it was due to a lack of viable women, but now with Carly Pearce and Gabby Barrett really emerging from the scene there are a lot more viable women for this category

I think it would be weird if Ashley got in just because she didn't have that big of year aside from a few award nominations. I just talked to a CMA voter and they think that Gabby will get in this year and that Kelsea and Carly will fight for the 5th spot. If that's the case, I see Kelsea getting left out again since she isn't an awards favorite.

I will outright say Gabby should not be nominated for FVOTY. She has had great single success but really nothing else. I would love to see her in this category next year or the year after.

I disagree. As a fan of both, going by last year and this yr so far. Gabby had and is having a better yr than Carly. Honestly if it was up to me I’d put 6 in the category. But since it’s 5 Gabby had a better eligibility period than Carly.

I dislike measuring women against each other, but for the sake of this argument I will: Gabby has had two massive singles while Carly has had an Opry invitation, a recent Female Artist nomination, incredible critical acclaim on 29, and good recent radio success with IHYHN. Gabby is a perfect candidate to win New Artist, but there is certainly an "earning" of a slot in Female Artist that she, in my opinion, is not ready for. She still feels very new.

Im not pinning two females against each other, I’m just giving facts. Like I said I like both and I’m a fan of both. I wasn’t making the argument based on your profile pic. And hearing that people talking about it, means this category is more important than MVOTY. That in my opinion it’s a good thing.
