Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Sour’ Jumps Back to No. 1 for Third Week Atop Billboard 200 Chart By Keith Caulfield 7/11/2021 Click to copy www.billboard.com/articles/news/9599291/olivia-rodrigo-sour-third-week-number-one-billboard-200-abum-chart/Plus: G. Herbo scores highest charting album yet with top five debut of “25.” Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour is back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a third nonconsecutive week on top, as the set lifts 3-1 with 88,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending July 8 (down 6%), according to MRC Data. The album debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated June 5, led again on the July 3-dated tally and has yet to leave the top three in its seven weeks on the list. Also in the top 10, G Herbo scores his highest charting album yet, as his new release 25 debuts at No. 5. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new July 17, 2021-dated chart (where Sour returns to No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard's website on July 13. For all chart news, follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. G Herbo Recruits Polo G, 21 Savage & Gunna For New Album '25': Stream It Now Doja Cat’s Planet Her is steady at No. 2 in its second week on the chart, earning 68,000 equivalent album units (down 37%). Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s former No. 1 The Voice of the Heroes rises 4-3 with 47,000 units (down 9%), while Morgan Wallen’s former 10-week chart-topper Dangerous: The Double Album climbs 6-4 with just over 46,000 units (down 2%). G Herbo’s fourth studio album, 25, is the lone debut in the Billboard 200 top 10 (and top 40, for that matter) as the set enters at No. 5 with 46,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, SEA units comprise 44,000 (equaling 61.17 million on-demand streams of the set’s songs), album sales comprise a little over 1,000 units and TEA comprise less than 1,000. It’s the second top 10 and highest charting effort for the rapper, who previously visited the region with his last album, PTSD, which debuted and peaked at No. 7 on the March 14, 2020-dated chart. The new 19-track album boasts guests turns from 21 Savage, Gunna, The Kid Laroi, Lil Tjay, Polo G and Rowdy Rebel. Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost falls 1-6 in its second week, earning 44,000 equivalent album units (down 74%). It’s the first No. 1-debuting album to fall out of the top five in its second week in 2021. The last to do so was Shawn Mendes’ Wonder, which descended 1-25 on the Dec. 26, 2020-dated list. Polo G’s former No. 1 Hall of Fame dips 5-7 on the new Billboard 200 with 40,000 equivalent album units earned (down 18%). Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia rises 9-8 with just over 30,000 units (down 3%), Migos’ Culture III descends 7-9 with 30,000 units (down 19%) and Moneybagg Yo’s former No. 1 A Gangsta’s Pain rises 11-10 with 29,000 units (down 1%).

Bo Burnham's album couldn't manage to remain in the top 10.

Sour was #1 seller. So probably broke the record for lowest #1 seller. HDD estimated 8.6k sales.

^Yeah. Let's see whether Billboard "forgets" to mention this in their Top Album Sales article. I wouldn't be surprised if they omitted the fact.

The Billboard 200 article looks to be missing from the Chart Beat page- perhaps a glitch.
Billboard should mention the sales low; it has before when it happened, yes?

^The link above works. They seem to have forgotten to post it there. It seems the same deal applies to the Hot 100 one.

Once again, Billboard omits mentioning a new record low for a #1 in Top Album. Still better than what HITS had estimated by about one thousand or so:
Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour skips back to No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart (dated July 17), as the set rises 4-1 with 10,000 copies in the U.S. in the week ending July 8 (down 2%), according to MRC Data. It’s the second week atop the list for the album, which bowed at No. 1 on the chart dated June 5. So far, Sour has sold 155,000 copies, making it the sixth-biggest selling album of 2021. The top-seller of the year thus far is Taylor Swift’s Evermore, with 380,000 sold. Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional album sales. The chart’s history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now MRC Data. Pure album sales were the measurement solely utilized by the Billboard 200 albums chart through the list dated Dec. 6, 2014, after which that chart switched to a methodology that blends album sales with track equivalent album units and streaming equivalent album units. For all chart news, follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’ archival album Angel Dream: Songs and Music From the Motion Picture ‘She’s the One’ re-enters at a new high of No. 2 with nearly 9,000 sold (up 2,891%). The album spent one week on the list previously, when it debuted at No. 12 on the June 26-dated chart (12,000 sold), following its release exclusively on blue vinyl LP for Record Store Day’s first 2021 drop on June 12. It re-enters on the new chart following its wide release on digital download, black vinyl LP and CD on July 2.
Queen’s Greatest Hits jumps 24-3 with 7,000 sold (up 54%) following promotion around its 40th anniversary reissue on July 2. Tomorrow x Together’s former No. 1 The Chaos Chapter: Freeze bumps 13-4 with nearly 7,000 (though down 2%), while Swift’s previous No. 1 Evermore rises 9-5 with 6,500 (down 18%).
Garth Brooks’ 2019 vinyl boxed set The Legacy Collection debuts at No. 6 with 6,000 sold (up 286%), following deep discounting on the title for Amazon Prime Day (June 21). A slimmed down version of the box, titled Legacy, re-enters at No. 8 with 5,000 (up 273%).
Joni Mitchell earns her highest charting album in the 30-year history of the Top Album Sales chart, as her new boxed set The Reprise Albums (1968-1971) debuts at No. 7 with a little more than 5,000 sold. The boxed set, available on CD, vinyl LP and download, includes four remastered albums: Song to a Seagull (originally released in 1968), Clouds (1969), Ladies of the Canyon (1970) and Blue (1971).
Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours (21-9 with 5,000; down less than 1%) and Michael Jackson’s Thriller (20-10 with 5,000; down 5%) round out the new top 10.

It’s so bizarre that a Billboard editor spends more time giving total pure sales numbers for albums rather than total equivalent units in the year 2021.
