literally why was Lil Nas X even brought up and how is his sexuality related to Camila lmao also let's not pretend "exploiting his sexuality" doesn't have a negative connotation, especially with the way that messy post was phrased. Lil Nas X is talented. he makes bops & he pairs creative and meaningful visuals with his music. sexual identity is naturally a focal theme of his work and it is reflected in his videos. his identity is not what makes him a "big force." Cause black gays or women aren't allowed to have confidence and swagger and live their lives. Same reason Lil Kim was a whore in the 90s and Madonna was innovative, daring and leader. |

This is a very Latin track, almost shakira like as someone said That's a very welcome development after the infuriatingly bland "Señorita" and the blatant "Havana" rehash "My Oh My". Here's to me hoping she changed the subject matter as well, because the 'falling for a mysterious/bad boy' premise is bordering on typecasting - if that's even a thing in music (add the egregious "South Of The Border" to the mix, and it gets even worse). I know it's mostly the GP's fault ("Liar", "Cry For Me", and "Consequences" deserved so much better), but it's still worth trying again for her own sake as an artist and songwriter. I know Camila is controversial among music fans, understandably so, but "Havana" remains one of the most infectious hits of the last decade - truly a great pop song with inspired Latin influences, and this new release is looking promising so far, so I'll be keeping an eye for it. |
