Hmm, not huge for pop; what's out next week that might block olivia from bouncing back to #1 again?

Fine for Pop considering it's just the estate milking his last few unfinished tracks.

John Mayer doing better than I thought in pure sales and SPS. Sucks that he will miss #1.

^ I believe he peaked with 8 songs in the top 10. It's all downhill from here because more songs will be entering the top 10 soon. He'll probably end the tracking week with 2 songs in the top 10, maybe even 1.

Currently at #2 in iTunes is Dee Gees' Hail Satin which is actually by the Foo Fighters. It was actually available on Friday for Record Store Day. It will interesting to see where it lands.

Pop Smoke’s second posthumous release, Faith (Victor Victor/Republic), will debut at #1. John Mayer’s Sob Rock (Columbia), which bears a nostalgic "Nice Price" sticker on its cover, lands at #2.
In other news, is it too early to go back to bed?

Wow, that Pop Smoke number continues to go down by the day. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if John Mayer steals the #1.

^^ Taking into account the SPS reported for the current Billboard and Oldbloke @ UKMix RTD numbers, Future Nostalgia would be at an estimated 1.87 million in the US. It should probably get to 2 million within the next five weeks including the current one.

It should probably get to 2 million within the next five weeks including the current one. HDD literally already confirmed it yesterday: Like Warner’s Dua Lipa, Peter Edge’s latest diva has yet to score a #1 album—but how much does that matter? These projects don’t have the typical shelf life of their peers. Dua’s “Levitating” f/DaBaby is giving Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license” a run for its money as the year’s biggest song, with about 3.2m in U.S. activity YTD. Ben Mawson-managed Dua’s 2017 debut set has done north of 2.5m in U.S. ATD; Future Nostalgia is over 2m.hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=327409&title=NEAR-TRUTHS%253A-GOALLLLLLLLAnd Warner confirmed Future Nostalgia was at 4 million units worldwide in May. Could be nearing 5M WW soon enough.

2.5m for an album that didn't even reach top 25 on a single week. Get it Dua. Peaks are irrelevant and have always been on the BB200, aside from the bragging rights of #1.

Agreed that peaks are irrelevant to the overall success of an album and always have been, but it's also worth noting that the configuration of the Billboard 200 today is completely different than it was before and really these days an album can be relatively unsuccessful as a whole and still "appear" to be successful in certification off the back of hit singles alone. Look at Romance by Camila Cabello, an album that performed relatively terribly and due to the huge success of "Havanna" and moderate success of "My Oh My" still "sold" or was certified as shifting one million units (which I personally feel makes it look far more successful than it actually was). lol I think, particularly these days, an album's true success (as a whole project) is hard to be measured by certification or SPS figures, but I suppose that is a matter of opinion. I understand sales are dead and streaming is the new way, just wish they had better formulas at play to separate album and single success. It almost feels as if the lines are blurred now. Before, a hit single didn't mean your album would be successful. These days it feels as if it almost guarantees it. Like the modern Billboard 200 is the old single sales chart reformulated. Lol I realize that is an exaggeration, just feels that way sometimes. Oh well. Is what it is. lol

Rolling Stone just updated their charts for the last time before the final numbers are posted on Monday and they have John Mayer ahead of Pop Smoke on their album chart 👀

Rolling Stone just updated their charts for the last time before the final numbers are posted on Monday and they have John Mayer ahead of Pop Smoke on their album chart 👀 That is only because they have weird formula for physicals. Vinyls count twice.
The same RS chart without the double counting:
Sob Rock has 49.3k Album sales 8.4k Track sales (/10 = 840) 24.4M audio streams (/1200 = 20.3k) - i will put every streams as paid so he gets the most units
So he has 70.4k units (without Vinyls counting twice). With that formula RS uses he is at 88.4k.

If somehow Bo Burnham's album manages to get #10 in the Billboard 200, this mentions a small boost to a couple of the songs included in it due to a certain event that happened this week:
