A trio of extras today. First, a take on the Mary Wells classic from 1964. Their version peaked at #14 on the soul chart and #23 on the Hot 100 (their last Top 40 on that chart) in 1982.
My Guy - Sister Sledge
Next, a song by a group from NYC whose members included Meli'sa Morgan and Alyson Williams. Their lone hit peaked at #32 soul in 1982.
Feelin' Lucky Lately - High Fashion
Finally, the follow-up to their hit "Everybody Dance". It rose to #19 on the soul chart in 1986.
Affection - Ta Mara & The Seen

Sent! My #1 is an underdog I genuinely love more than the obvious juggernauts on the list. Tbh, I’d be fine with an all- female top 10 here but I know that’s a real long shot. Can’t wait.

Today's extras come to us from The Purple One. First, a Top 10 hit from his Dirty Mind album. It peaked at #5 on the soul chart in 1980.
Uptown - Prince
Next, a song from his 1981 album Controversy. He didn't release it as a single, but it was later recorded by Meli'sa Morgan who took her version to the top of the soul chart.
Do Me, Baby - Prince
Finally, a song from his 1987 album Sign O' The Times. It also wasn't released as a single, but is generally regarded as one of his best songs.
Adore - Prince

Janet's is easy in that The Pleasure Principle is the only one on the list from Janet that isn't a household name Since the one I ranked lowest for Michael isn't out for a while, unfortunately I think TWYMMF will be first out, but I swear if Rock Wit You is out first I will cut somebody

I wanted to put operator at #50 but I changed my mind & settled at #45. Either way I'm not sad Operator it's the first song that is gone.
