Quiet is such a great song, but unfortunately doesn’t fit with the rest of the album. Still my favorite probably though!

Digging this so far! I'm more than halfway through buy happy with what I'm hearing. This album feels more natural than her other two - her debut felt somewhat generic, and her last felt a biiiit trying too hard. While I've enjoyed both of those, this one seems like a better fit.

Don't Go Yet Hasta Los Dientes Bam Bam Boys Don't Cry Quiet
I don't think there's any pop hit left on this album. "Boys Don't Cry", maybe, but stars need to align in every way possible. For the release week, I see they're pushing "psychofreak", but it's cringey as hell. It's borderline criminal act to put "wifi" in the chorus in 2022.

Her voice is so damn basic. There is some decent material here (Quiet is a standout), but it would be much enhanced in the hands of a better/more distinct singer.

Huh. There's no shortage of things to criticize Camila and her voice for but I'd argue she has one of the most distinct voices in the business right now. 🤷♂️

I just went on a walk and decided I’d listen to this and… it’s actually really good?! La Buena Vida, Quiet, Boys Don’t Cry and Hasta Los Dientes are SO GOOD! Bam Bam and Psychofreak are actually two of the weakest songs on the album for me, and I feel like Don’t Go Yet doesn’t fit at all. I hope one of the four listed songs can somehow become a single but I can’t see Psychofreak doing much and they’ll probably give up promoting after that. I get the feeling they were only chosen due to the features attached, like End Game on Reputation. I think if she had chose any of the other four songs I listed first, she would have performed a lot better this era. They capture the best parts of Señorita and Havana without sounding like remakes

Quiet could maybe smash but it'd be a liiiiight smash unless some kind of lightning in a bottle moment happens. It's got a cool breezy vibe to it that's very reminiscent of Dua Lipa's Cool.

Better than I assumed it would be given the awful rollout and medicore singles, but this is gonna sink without a trace I think. Tracks 5-9 is a decent stretch.

OK, Karla. Give me back to back great albums. I dig the progression, as well. Whose idea was it to go with psychofreak next, especially when I have yet to hear Willow blowing up the charts with any of her music and we have the likes of Quiet, La Buena Vida, and Boys Don't Cry on the album? Anyway, that song isn't even bad; I just think everything else is better than it. I think my obsession with Romance is slipping a bit. Overall, this is the better album, no doubt in my mind. Also, like Taylor. said, her voice is distinct, first and foremost. Now, if you don't LIKE her voice, that's a valid argument. I would just argue otherwise. She's clearly doing it to stand apart from her peers. In the long run, her vocal cords will suffer from trying to sound like a 12 year old Camel Unfiltered smoker, but she is good where she is now. I will continue to be interested in what she does musically. Quiet (single, please. one of her best.) Hasta Los Dientes (let's gooooooo! Who else is doing 80's in Spanish? In a perfect world, this would be on the radio. It does kinda give me Juice by Lizzo vibes, but I see Ricky Reed produced this too, so...makes sense.) La Buena Vida (YESSSSSSSSS, what a song!) Bam Bam (will forever love this song. it makes me so happy every. single. time. I hear it.) Boys Don't Cry Don't Go Yet (also, still love this one, but such stiff competition above it) No Doubt (it kinda went by without me paying attention, but I know it sounded nice.) Familia y Celia psychofreak everyone at this party Lola (message songs are never my thing, really, but, coming from Camila...idk. seems kinda off to me. It is VERY well-produced though, like everything else on the album, so I wouldn't turn it off. I also like Yotuel's voice, but couldn't he have done more??)

Romance is still her best album yet, but this one is good. Some filler but several good tracks. The single selection has been accurate so far.

Genuinely curious if Camila would be popular had she not latched onto others throughout her career (Shawn, Taylor specifically). Curious to see the trajectory of her career from here on out now that she’s a bit removed from those two.

Gave the album a once-through yesterday and honestly thought it was fantastic and her best body of work yet. Glad she's leaning into the Latin influences more as I think they suit her best. Not sure how big I see the era being for her, but even if she doesn't rack up CHR hits, she could probably get a hit or two on the Latin charts to help offset that some.

This is her best album I think. Gotta relisten to her second one to be sure, but she's 3/3 for me.

I’m liking “Familia”!! There’s nothing that’s unlistenable to me. It’s a pretty cohesive body of work. “Psychofreak” isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was when I first listened to it. Probably because it was a somewhat hyped collaboration I was expecting more and the lyrics were a little irking at first. My favorite track is still “Bam Bam”. Followed by “Hasta Los Dientes”. I really like “Celia”. It has the typical light reggaeton inspired production I love. “Quiet” is a nice pop song. I’ll probably stick it on a few playlists along with a decent amount of this release. I guess it would be easier to say the tracks I won’t listen to much but don’t dislike them. “Lola” and maybe “Boys Don’t Cry”. I wasn’t expecting to but I’m really liking the last song “Everyone At The Party” to. It’s not normally my type of song but I like it. If I remember correctly I liked her other two albums as well. This one is a near perfect length. Go girl!

Predicted to open below 50k as Encanto is expected to rise to #1 again and HDD doesn't consider Camila to be a threat for the top spot.
Romance opened at 86k.

Predicted to open below 50k as Encanto is expected to rise to #1 again and HDD doesn't consider Camila to be a threat for the top spot. Romance opened at 86k. important to note: we should wait and see the streaming numbers before judging how much she might be flopping. 54,000 pure sales in 2019 is A LOT. she was supposed to tour arenas in 2020, with 23 dates across the US. if we're low-balling (12k tickets per arena), that's about 275,000 tickets that went on sale and came with a copy of her album. so an overwhelming majority of those pure sales must have been from the bundles, which are now ruled out by Billboard. Familia has 12 songs compared to Romance's 14. so I'd say anything below 35 million on-demand audio streams will be a step down. if she does below 30 million, that's pretty bad. and if she matches or tops 30k SEA units, that's a solid performance and an upward trend, even if the overall SPS number might come up way short of 86k.

The more I listen to this album, the more I love it, especially the Latin songs. Quiet remains that bitch while psychofreak creeps up, thanks to Willow, which is something I never thought I would say. Her voice is very...commanding. She kinda reminds me of Chloe, when Chloe used to sing.

She kinda reminds me of Chloe, when Chloe used to sing. this is such an insult to Chlöe, I can't 😩 Camila could only dream of the range, agility, and control Chlöe has over her vocals. haven't you heard the runs on "Treat Me"? I will say, Camila definitely has one of the most distinct voices in the industry, though whether it's in a good way or a bad way is debatable. 🤐

The way her voice self-destructs on Cry for Me will always be my favorite performance of hers.
As for her figures:
Camila: #1, 119k SPS (65k sales)
Romance: #3, 86k SPS (54k sales)
Familia: #13, 25k SPS (9k sales)

Yesterday driving from Austin to San Antonio and back I took the opportunity to listen to this. I have to say I wasn't that impressed when I listened to fragments of songs when it came out, but man did the album got better yesterday. I mean, it's not a profound or out-of-this-world thing, but it's fun pop bilingual album! I enjoyed it very much. I think I like the first half better, but still I listened to it fully several times. The one I like the least is Boys Don't Cry. Somewhere I think it's minute 2 and 30 secs she goes with a YAY YAY YAY thing twice... omg... that killed the song for me. Horrible. How do I dislike that part! Why adding that to a song that was already nice enough to listen! Other than those seconds, I enjoy the whole album.
