Can’t find the CD in stock anywhere and been to Target and Walmart both! It’s ok though because I found it in a record store about 45 minutes from home! Im all about supporting the small record stores. As I stated in another thread in the rock format I believe I like to own physical copies of albums on CD if at all possible. Country especially! Last week I had the same problem finding Clay Walker but today I gave in and ordered it from Amazon! Can’t wait to dive into Famous Friends now though!

Wouldn't it make more sense to listen to an album first online before purchasing it in the physical form? I imagine you will probably enjoy the Chris Young album since you like the artist, but I have to imagine at one point or another you have bought an album you ended up hating and wasted the money. You do you obviously, I just find it unique to buy an album before knowing if you will like it or not.

It’s crazy this is the same guy that brought us “Neon” and “Drinking Me Lonely”. Sad

This album really is a big bag of nothing. “Famous Friends” is fun but nothing special. “Drowning” was quality but never took off at radio. The only other song on here worth much is “Town Ain’t Big Enough”, which had already been released.

It’s crazy this is the same guy that brought us “Neon” and “Drinking Me Lonely”. Sad I get it but I understand what Chris Young is doing. He has to play it safe and release radio friendly songs to stay relevant on country radio. I can’t fault the man for trying to make a living. Look at Josh Turner and how quickly he has been forgotten.

I mainly only buy studio albums but I do have several greatest hits compilations as well especially if they had new recordings that were singles at radio.

I really liked this album more than I thought.Although I´ve always been a fan of Chris my hopes for this album werent high and I can consider this one better than the last one...of course its not the same guy musically that gave us Tomorrow and his best songs but I can still live with that because I dont think that guy will come back. "At the End of a Bar" and "Tonight We´re Dancing" were good surprises.

The album kinda blended together and didn't leave a big impression on me after a single listen today, though it wasn't really anything that bad either, meaning it doesn't compete with Losing Sleep for his worst record. One early standout for me though is "At the End of a Bar." What an incredible song. That's one of the best things I've heard from Chris Young in a long time! I am pretty floored that the duet with Mitchell Tenpenny of all people is my favorite from the record, but I'll be damned if that isn't a home run smash of a song. I hope they consider it for the next radio release because I don't see any way that doesn't hit big.

And he could put the Lauren Alaina duet (that was in streaming playlists for some time) as last single from the album and prepare for next album era.

I like this album quite a lot. I was kinda worried about where he is going, after ending the last era with Hangin' On and starting this era with Raised On Country, but there are several good songs here. The other two singles Drowning and Famous Friends are great, and some album tracks stood out well here, including When You're Drinking, Break Like You Do, and Cross Every Line. Two duets were solid as well. Town Ain't Big Enough has beautiful harmony with Laure Alaina, and I wanted to like At The End Of The Bar more as a fan of Mitchell, but it was around B~B+. I predict Break Like You Do to be the next single.
Also, is the background voice of Best Seat In The House Cassadee Pope? I think I know the voice, but cannot really tell.

All the new songs are quite good. The Old Dominion duet and "If I Knew What Was Good for Me" are standouts. There's a few duds on the OG tracklisting, but if you swapped a few of those out with the new tracks, you could form a pretty solid record out of Famous Friends. Even as it stands now, it's at least definitely a vast improvement over the Losing Sleep era though. The acoustic versions of his old hits were unnecessary additions as well.
