Why couldn't have BTS waited with releasing that remix for this week? This was the one time that the fans astroturfing the song to #1 could've been a good thing and they wasted their opportunity

When it comes to enjoying Drake's music, even as a longtime fan of his, context really is everything. I'd say that's true for a lot of artists. A friend and I were just discussing how much we dislike "Don't Stop Believing" and like other Journey songs more but how the second it comes on in a bar or something we're singing along. I love Mariah but don't like "Hero" much, but the second she sings it for a special occasion or something I can be very moved. |

Say whatever you want about Drake, the fact that he slays without a hit single says it all. There's literally no one like him slaying and breaking streaming records. And this is coming from someone who finds him overrated and hates his music yet still sees the facts and congratulates him & his fans on his success.

Though GWG seems loosing pos on AM & W2S rose to #1 (curr #4 on itunes) idt dats enough to make up for it's significant low nos on day 1 (might change during da week).
Fair trade is da dark horse tho it's stuck @ #3 on streaming (both AM & SPOTIFY) & has sales to backup. Not to forget it's very well received ( if twt is yardstick 😬)

Butter is dropping on radio really fast (it is no longer in the Top 100 on kWorb radio) and with the streaming numbers Drake was putting, BTS stood pretty much no chance this tracking week. Heck, it isn't even 100% certain Butter will beat out Stay for the #1 on the 9/11/2021 chart. |

jenglisbe this is exactly what it is. I can't tell you how many Drake songs I don't care for that people love and I'm always confused but then I remember that all music is subjective. What might sound amazing to you can sound terrible to the next person and vice-versa.

This really puts into perspective how big “DL” was at its peak. Since then she’s had multiple other hits with extremely strong peaks too, and not just in the U.S but Globally. Some are mad at Butters sales keeping it top 10, but are ok with one artist practically occupying the whole top 10? How does this logic work? Drake potentially occupying several spots in the top 10 with his album is a reflection of actual consumption from the GP and it will likely only last a week, as most album bomb do. It's the same thing that happened in 2018 when he had 7 songs in the top 10 following the release of Scorpion. The difference with Butter is that a small set of BTS fans are using funds to buy digital singles so the song can remain in the top 10, just like they've done for the last 4 months to keep it stable in the top 10. Too bad if you can't see the difference between both situations. I'm not looking for the difference and you don't need to respond to every post. |
