Not the underperform talk on a record breaking week for streams, even if frontloaded. Let's discuss that if and when the week 2 fall down to earth. FWIW not having a hit single means longevity is gonna suffer, but Drake was always going to stream well on debut. this should change.I hope that someday people will be tired of drake constantly releasing bad music so they won't even check his albums the first day...I don't care about the record that he broke the first day... it's frontloaded. No one is saying it's not frontloaded, but it's still on track to be a record week. If it drops into oblivion week 2, sure, let's discuss. I predict it will have very bad legs. Even the "Way 2 Sexy" video that is "going viral" I haven't seen that much... not even on the level of "Toosie Slide", which had poor legs. But there's no denying he still commands a lot of attention. We were all surprised about DONDA overperforming and this is already above that. CLB's gonna be the first album to open to 500k since the bundles were removed if I'm not mistaken, unless folklore dropped after that rule? It's not gonna match SOUR, let alone Scorpion in terms of legs, but tbh... look at that cover. Drake ain't even trying. This is a massive result for him. The music sucks? I agree. I'd love for him to flop so he actually makes an effort. Up to Scorpion he would at least deliver a handful of bops. Go a little further back and he's got some really solid albums. Even the More Life "playlist" had a lot of potential. But also... "Butter" has been #1 for 10 weeks. The charts are not about quality and once you make peace with that, you'll enjoy watching them while you stream the Charli XCX, Phoebe Bridgers and Imagine Dragons songs no one is playing but you're loving.

This video shows WinstonsNuo's early prediction Hot 100 at Twitter in video form. I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah the Drake tracks are falling hard on Spotify, but they are still pulling in massive numbers. Not to mention he has always been way stronger on AM and Pandora. He also had no pre released singles or hits off the album. Y'all cant wait to ring the underperforming/flop alarm ISTG.
Anyways, I'm assuming Way 2 sexy is going to be #1?
Hopefully gutter totally implodes out of the top 20 and for good.

"Butter" has been so embarrasing that even if it collapsed #1-out I'd still think Billboard handled this mess quite poorly.

Are BTS taking donations to block Drake at #1? Not Drake making you mad enough to dip into the 401K fund Relax, it's a joke.

It seems each week, these mid or early predictions are based on some twitter predictor. I am surprised Winston is showcased for this week. If only Billboard could really do their own is wishful thinking.

Hurricane finally managed to overcome The Remorse at Apple Music.

Hurricane finally managed to overcome The Remorse at Apple Music. Donda is still relatively stable on AM. There are 13 Donda songs from #21-#48 on AM.

Next week, but I'm kinda hoping Lalisa gets a global #1 the way Roseanne did.

This is a massive result for him. The album was delayed for so long which makes it even a bigger disappointment I'd say. But I truly think that this is what he and his label thinks is the best stuff right now, otherwise the album would sound different. I mean Toosie Slide, What's Next... now Way 2 Sexy. They must really believe that those are what the general public want. Wants and Needs was a steady hit but they did zero effort there. It's weird. Regarding the AM, the numbers below Drake/biggets Kanye tracks might not be very strong if the Baby Keem/Kendrick track was big there for a week and even if removing Kanye, it would have not gone top ten. And it was kind of Kendrick's comeback to charts. Meek Mill feat. Lil Baby and Lil Durk (a complete AM dream team) debuts only at #22... So dunno, we have to wait and see.

Sharing locations which's #1 on AM for 2 days slid to ~ 20-25 later. But ended up making ~18.2m streams on total out of which mere 4.2m came from Spotify.
[Note: da biggest track on Spotify made ~12m dis week] But idk how ppl still perceive Spotify is 'the standard' for hip-hop male acts' streaming success

Because it IS the standard for all others? It's not really wrong to focus on the platform that actually provides the numbers outside of occasional press releases here and there.
Once this week of Drake is over, we will surely return to analyzing the Spotify numbers (I believe Lil Nas X does very well there too)
I have no idea why AM doesn't reveal anything because even iTunes have had their popularity bars and stuff for a long time.
EDIT: That said, it's pretty easy to calculate that Spotify represents perhaps 25-35% of male rappers streams. In Meek Mill's case it was 23% which is probably the lowest I can think of for individual songs but still a remarkable portion.

"Top 10 (if Drake is excluded)" is pointless when a quarter of the chart will be Drake next week

Really amazing how well drake is able to connect to a broad audience. Some of his best vocal performances (race my mind which interpolates Rick James, get along better), rap performances (nfiti, 7am), and hooks (tsu, fair trade). With almost 400 songs available on streaming its insane that he continues to do this. Sometimes I want him to be a little more experimental like when he covered Jackson Browne's these days in 2017
but honestly even if he did I'd still prefer listening to an artist who'd do it better. Regardless, can't wait to see where formulated hits such as champagne poetry and the remorse chart

That's why people (like myself) are using Spotify data because it's actually measurable.

So, for the first time since the February 3, 2018 chart, Drake doesn't have a song charting on the Hot 100. He starts another run next week but still. Ugh.
MOST CONSECUTIVE WEEKS CHARTING ON THE HOT 100 *431 weeks – Drake (2009-2017) 326 weeks – Lil Wayne (2007-2013) 216 weeks – Rihanna (2009-2013) 207 weeks – Nicki Minaj (2010-2014) 198 weeks — Post Malone (2017-2020) **187 weeks — Drake (2018-2021) 166 weeks — Future (2015-2018) 161 weeks — Chris Brown (2013-2016) 159 weeks — JAY-Z (1999-2002) **161 weeks — Justin Bieber (2018-present) 152 weeks — Nelly (2000-2003) *150 weeks — Justin Bieber (2015-2018) 141 weeks — Kenny Chesney (2001-2005)

A bit hard to gauge which songs will leave this week since about 9 Kanye songs will definitely be departing but the only big song I can see leaving this week is Forever After All. Arcade is still gaining on the radio charts, as well as Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop so I think it's safe from elimination, to the disgust of a certain eagle.

MOST CONSECUTIVE WEEKS CHARTING ON THE HOT 100**161 weeks — Justin Bieber (2018-present) Oh it's been that long, jesus christ make it stop! (We know Scooter Braun aims at 500 weeks at least)

CLB finally had a net positive day on Spotify thanks to some gains from the front end of the album (plus Knife Talk) and only marginal drops for the rest of the album. Looks like the post-Labor Day effect was somewhat fruitful. It also looks like listeners have deemed that Way 2 Sexy and Knife Talk are the hits of the album given that they posted by far the biggest gains, how big they will end up once the album bomb clears remains to be seen but it's safe to say those will have the most legs.

Since no one seemed to post the US Spotify numbers yet for the album today, thought I'd table it out along with percentages and aggregates.

I’d be surprised if Drake didn’t promote Way 2 Sexy as the lead single soon. This has In My Feelings written all over it.

For now, it seems like Girls Want Girls is the song being serviced to radio but with the steam Way 2 Sexy is building, I can't see it being too far behind. It's already seeing massive gains.
