The single edit of Happier Than Ever debuts on US Spotify at #140. Combined with the original, itβs at #13 with 1.07M streams, or #6 if you exclude Drake.

I can't believe "Do I Make You Proud" sneaked into the 2006 yearend at #99 with just 8 weeks of charting. Is it a record for the shortest weeks in the yearend? No. Hello managed to be in the 2015 Hot 100 year-end at #35 with only 3 weeks charted. Also, to note, Candle in the Wind 1997/Something About The Way You Look Tonight managed to be #1 for the 1997 one with 8 weeks charted.

Life Goes On should get a small asterisk due to the Christmas season, but itβs amazing how 4 of the 5 songs listed on there were within the last 15 months. Canβt wait for Travis to release Utopia and have one of his songs go like 1-93-OUT.

{CLB RANT. tl;dr - this album is bad. Go stream Little Simz}So this album is bad and I donβt think Iβm adding anything other people havenβt said: itβs boring, overlong and doesnβt justify itβs 86 minute runtime, full monotone beats and flows, plus embarrassing lyrics as well as petty lyrics that are truly revealing - especially on Champagne Poetry, Fair Trade. And before anyone goes to mad on me about me not giving this a chance and being biased from the get go: let me just say I gave this thing three full listens and that there are some...tiny specks of diamonds amongst the miles of rough. Knife Talk is a song I liked throughout, but 7am On Bridle Path was alright, You Only Live Twice (entirely because of Wayne), TSU Papiβs Home (more for the Montell Jordan sample) No Friends in the Industry (more for the beat and the 3 6 Mafia sample), Futureβs hook Way 2 Sexy (but only when played alongside the video). These arenβt new problems with Drake and at that point itβs a broken record saying all of these again. But I think the worst part of this song is the banality of it all. You might hate Olivia Rodrigo and think sheβs derivative of earlier acts. You might think Taylor Swift is cosplaying an indie aesthetic. You can say Lil Nas X is all shock tactics and no substance in his music. You might laugh at Halsey and Billie Eilish underperforming. You might think J. Cole is overhyped by his fans or that Lil Baby and Lil Durk recycle the same trap production over and over again. Hell, even an album I absolutely hate - Scaled and Icy? You know what all those acts have done recently? Theyβve tried their best. They swung for the fences and gave their all, there was passion. Even an artist I donβt like like The Kid LAROI, for as limited as his talents are and how much he is derivative and an industry plant, I can at least acknowledge that within his talents, heβs giving the best he can. And while I might not like that heβs popular, Iβve made my piece that he just resonates with a younger audience.
And while itβd be easy for me to point to an album that justified and itβs length and was emotionally stimulating like Sometimes I Might Be Introvert - released the same day as CLB - even by the standards of mainstream, accessible, not snobby pop, this is not good music.
Itβs the equivalent of the Transformers movies: embarrassing, overlong, bloated, not even fun enough to turn your brain off towards, yet still inexplicably popular

No. Hello managed to be in the 2015 Hot 100 year-end at #35 with only 3 weeks charted. Also, to note, Candle in the Wind 1997/Something About The Way You Look Tonight managed to be #1 for the 1997 one with 8 weeks charted. 1997 must have been a weak if a song with less than 10 weeks managed to end as the biggest song of the year even if a song is massive like Candle in the Wind was. The song was massive from a sales perspective, which was what mattered for the hot 100. Iβm willing to bet if you counted just the songβs first week, it probably still would have ended the year at number one. Not sure how other singles did sales-wise but 1997 had some pretty major hits too.

Songs did not sell 3.5 million in an entire YEAR, and the Year-End is based on real points from sales/airplay. Itβs like how Adeleβs 25 first week of 3 million would be enough to land #1 on most Year-End album charts from past years.

Ed sheeran single tonight. He is performing it at the NFL kick off, I guess thats good promo? Iβm predicting Ed sheeranβs first proper flop single from a math symbols album In a very long time That is a properly hedged about statement--what would be the demarcation between flop/non-flop to you?

Tanooki estimated CIDW has debuted with 347,000 points. (Using the simple format by predictors on twitter that is 3,470 points.)
And the song had more than 1M sales in week 2 aswell.

I think its sales in week 1 placed "CITW" among the top 5 sellers ever (in the Soundscan era), at a minimum. By week 2 it was already the best-selling single of the Soundscan era, but maybe even the Hot 100 era in general.
