So nobody realized Drake will occupy the entire top 10 on R&B/Hip Hop Songs seeing as “Stay” is Pop and Drake has the #11 on Hot 100 too.

for nearly the ENTIRE top 10 to be one person is just... questionable. It was awesome when Ariana secured the top 3 when TUN came out but this just feels off. It really isn't. The top most streamed songs on Spotify and AM all came from Drake, this is reflecting that.

FUTURES FIRST #1 WHERE MY FREEBANDZ SOLDIERS AT?? This was the true W this week. Future deserves it after all this time. I was starting to worry he'd never get one after "Life Is Good" peaked at number two. Lil Baby should hopefully get one soon!

Good for Drake, such a shame it’s his worst album to date.

First ten-week #1 to fall from 1 to outside the Top 10. That is legendary.

Look at him following social distancing guidelines Four more and Drake will surpass Paul McCartney’s 57 total Top 10s (as a member of the Beatles and his post-Beatles solo career).

Drake also now has the most top 10 songs ever only including lead artist creditings.
Most top 5 hits: 29, The Beatles 28, Madonna 27, Mariah Carey 27, Drake

He does that and he owns the records for the most top 5/top 10/top 20/top 40/overall most Hot 100 entries. 12 more #1 hits to own the record for most #1 hits. Absolutely insane that an artist of our time is doing all of this before the age of 35.

for nearly the ENTIRE top 10 to be one person is just... questionable. It was awesome when Ariana secured the top 3 when TUN came out but this just feels off. Honestly I think it says less about Drake and more about how music is consumed. On paper, it looks like Drake has pure, nearly uninterrupted dominance like never seen before. But looking beyond the scope of the Hot 100 and it doesn’t really…feel like that? There was a lot of buzz for his album when it dropped, and likewise the week before with Kanye, but comparing that to past examples, Adele, Gaga, Britney, N Sync, Backstreet Boys, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and so on. Musicians having complete dominance over the pop culture sphere doesn’t happen as much today as it used to, and when it does, this is what it’ll look like. Some subsets of the population will see and hear it all and others will barely hear a peep. Music is so much more segmented. I can’t speak for audiences where Drake, for example, is dominating (and I’ve no doubt he’s controlling the conversation among them) but the idea that there’s a general public the way we think of it simply doesn’t exist anymore. So, I wouldn’t say this week’s Hot 100 top ten is questionable. It just means that some of Drake’s album has been consumed by his audience more than the current hits are being consumed overall because the biggest hits each week aren’t being heard and consumed as much as they used to be.

Super impressive record to have, although it will continue to be devalued every year. Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what happened, but I hope that it doesn’t become the norm for big artists.
While drake may have the most top 10s out of any other artist, he is nowhere close to having the most top 10 “hits”. I think that now more than ever, a song has to be judged by the total points earned at the end of its run.

This is a measure of two things: Drake's massive popularity, and easy ability to measure non-single consumption. I don't doubt that had Internet access and streaming existed back to the start of the Hot 100, this would have company. But given how his closest competitors (TCV, LND, EA) preformed, it wouldn't be very big company!

People don't even care about CLB as much as they cared about Scorpion which dominated the whole year 2018 in addition to the charts. It doesn't *feel* right that CLB is more successful on Hot 100 with 9 top ten tracks. But, on the other hand, the top ten last week was pretty weak in terms of numbers apart from Stay.

Debuting 21 songs in the top 35 spots of the Hot 100 is insane. Some people won't appreciate everything Drake is doing on the charts until decades from now when no one else is any closer to matching, yet alone breaking his records.

Bingo board for posts anytime Drake breaks a Hot 100 record:
“Billboard needs to seriously do something about this” “This is ridiculous” “It’s not the same as when other people prior did it” “Streaming era made the charts a different thing” “This is not comparable to the previous record holder”

Absolutely insane that an artist of our time is doing all of this before the age of 35. It's no doubt impressive and other current artists aren't achieving this, but he might not have these records if chart rules always favored this type of thing. Imagine if all of The Beatles album tracks could have charted back then (not that we had data, but that's my point). I just find it so weird to compare eras at this point. Things are so different now. I say that as a general point; Billboard stats at this point are so misrepresentative (looks at #1 debuts, etc as well). for nearly the ENTIRE top 10 to be one person is just... questionable. It was awesome when Ariana secured the top 3 when TUN came out but this just feels off. Honestly I think it says less about Drake and more about how music is consumed. It would be interesting if we had listener data in the 00s to know how many BSB tracks, N Sync tracks, etc would have been top 10.
