Yeah, don't forget that. He's going to get millions of those, just not from me.

The charts this week are going to look like late December/early January, just replacing Christmas songs with Kanye & Drake songs.

Ugh, Spotify sent me an email and then two notifications on my phone about drake's album.
Dear Spotify.... calm yo tits. Drake does not need this.

At least all the older songs will be wiped from the Hot 100 because of the album bombs.

Not if they return to the top 50 once Drake/Ye pass from the scene.

I know itβs soooo overeager, but if Walker Hayes gets his first number one at 41, where would that put him amongst the oldest artists to get their first number ones? I know Cher was like 60 with Believe but that wasnβt her first number one, and Sia was in her 40s with Cheap Thrills, but is that the record?

The oldest would be Louis Armstrong at age 62 in 1964 with "Hello, Dolly!"

Who has the previous record of most streamed album in a single day in Spotify?
EDIT: Searched it. Scorpion with 132.45 million
Assuming CLB got 140 million divided by 21 songs, 6.6 million streams for each track.

Not surprised that Drake will likely far surpass Kanye, he's clearly more commercially popular now. The opening day is his biggest ever and the whole week will be big as well, but honestly I'm expecting it to be very front-loaded and have the same steep day-to-day drops we're seeing with Kanye, given the tepid response to the album and the fact there's no current hit singles with the project. Having listened to most of both albums though, which isn't easy to get through given the length of both and that I'm not a huge fan of either, Drake's I liked slightly better. Neither are great though and have no clear standouts, and both seem to be getting only mixed reviews. Both of their careers seem to have peaked.
Focusing on Drake more, the material just seems to have remained very similar throughout most of his career, it's been like one very long album, and it's just getting to be very mediocre and wearing very thin. I do also think it's a mistake to leave out Laugh Now, Cry Later, What's Next, and Wants and Needs, as they weren't all very big hits but could still only add to more interest and consumption of the album and up his certifications, and wouldn't at all damage the "artistic integrity" of the collection (I think the same goes for every artist actually, why would you leave out recent hits you scored?). As I said before, I don't think there's any real standouts as to what could be singles, it might be best for the label to wait what songs are streamed the most, and if they also happen to be radio friendly - go with those, though if they do have to choose one now, Way 2 Sexy actually doesn't seem like a bad choice, as would be Fair Trade or No Friends in the Industry.

Well if Donda didn't kill Blinding Lights, it seems CLB will be it's final resting place. Goodbye.

You literally cannot argue that it wouldn't be funny if this went #1 A gay icon getting a country music song to go number one at almost 50 years old, despite never even charting in the top 50 before? What a dream Stop saying Walker Hayes is a gay icon just because he's pro-LGBT. It's legit annoying.

will butter tie dynamite's 18 weeks topping sales, or possibly beat that record? I think this is pretty much a done deal. Dynamite only had 13 weeks at #1 on sales after 27 weeks (before it artificially mass-bought the last 5). Butter will already at 14 weeks at #1 in Week 15, and considering no one else is really using sales (well, maybe except Aaron Lewis fans, lol), I think it should easily pass Dynamite's 18 weeks at #1, and I think it will happen in October.

So he broke the 132M Spotify Global record & the 170M AM Global record (both previousely held by Scorpion). Prepare to see multiple songs over 10M on Global Spotify. Drake's 'Certified Lover Boy' Breaks Apple Music's One-Day Streaming Record Drakeβs latest album Certified Lover Boy is Apple Musicβs most-streamed album in 24 hours in the servicesβ history, Apple Music tells Billboard. The album -- which was released at midnight EST on Friday (Sept. 3) and at time of publishing still has a few hours left to accumulate streams for its first day -- already broke the record for the most-streamed album in 2021 in under 12 hours on the platform. Certified Lover Boy is Drakeβs sixth studio album, and includes a lengthy list of features from superstar rappers including Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Future, Rick Ross and Lil Baby. Drakeβs 2018 album Scorpion held the record previously on Apple Music, with 170 million streams in its first 24 hours. The 21-song project has also broken records on Spotify, becoming the most-streamed album in a day on the platform as well, the company confirmed to Billboard earlier Friday.
