Spotify stats one week in. Wish I had the pre-releases earlier stats so it would be a true record, but it'll do: 1) It Was Me - 388K (pre-release) 2) If The World Was A Small Town - 1M (pre-release) 3) Getting Good (feat. Trisha Yearwood) - 42.1M (pre-release) 4) Sam Story, Different Saturday Night - 48.1K 5) On Top Of the World - 49.6K 6) Run (pre-release) - 9.4M 7) What Do You Think Of? (with Lukas Graham) (pre-release) - 6.6M 8) I’m Not Sad Anymore - 47.8K 9) Getting Over Him (feat. Jon Pardi) (pre-release) - 7.5M 10) Good Ole Boy - 229.6K 11) When The Party’s Over - 39.6K 12) You Ain’t A Cowboy - 44.8K 13) Goodbye Street - 37.3K 14) Written In The Bar - 39.1K 15) Change My Mind - 40.8K While "Good Ole Boy" had a little playlisting help from New Music Friday, it's still far and running away as the most streamed new release. Hard to tell if any of the pre-releases are doing better with the album rollout - I did notice just from memory that ITWWAST went from the 800K range to breaking 1M in this week. This album is an absolute grower and I hope people give it at least a few spins before developing opinions on it. Hey! So, I do have the pre-release stats (streamings of each song one day before the album dropped), and they were like this: Getting Good - 41,890,637 Run - 9,315,142 What Do You Think Of? - 6,554,071 Getting Over Him - 6,472,781 If the World Was a Small Town - 885,119 It Was Me - 307,797 Awesome! The original post is now updated.

Debut at #21 on Country Albums chart (#173 overall) with 7,200 first-week SPS (3,400 pure sales, 4.4 million song streams). It is so insane to watch the impact of streaming/sales decline on the chart even just from 2017 to now. Her last album debuted at #3 and she is a much more established name now.

She is a much more established name but also Lauren Alaina doesn't really have any momentum or hit to her name right now. Where as her last album was when "Road Less Traveled" was in the Top 20 and sold fairly well.

Disappointed in the numbers. I know her single hasn't done well, but thought she had a bigger fanbase than these numbers. The Hallmark movie has helped boost her on iTunes, but I wonder why her team couldn't get a tv spot for her.
I still think the label should release the duet with Lukas Graham. It's risky, but I think it could smash on HAC/AC.

She would do well to expand her brand and try to court some crossover success. If that song blew up on other formats, that would be better for her career than just having another modest country hit that may or may not move the needle.

I agree they should risk it with "What Do You Think Of?". It has too much potential to be wasted not being a single.
It's also a very promo-sensitive song. It came back to the iTunes top10 after her movie was released this weekend and she only sang the chorus for a few seconds. I imagine live performances could really boost the song if it becomes a single.
I think it's important for Lauren to have a defining hit. "What Ifs" is very very big, but she doesn't have a huge single on her own. "Road Less Traveled" was a number one radio single, but only peaked at #8 on Hot Country Songs, #67 on the Hot100... "Getting Over Him" is on the same path. It only debuted on the Hot Country Songs chart this week after being on the top spot on Spotify's Hot Country playlist and on playlists from other streaming services. Overall it's not connecting / selling / streaming well for its airplay position. So even if it becomes a hit because of radio, it won't be a big one unless things change drastically.
I always keep up with Lauren's chart success (or sometimes the lack of lol) and she always has a hard time connecting her singles. The only one that showed potential from the start was "Ladies in the '90s", it was always selling better than a lot of songs that had more audience on country radio. So that was a song that could be big with radio support but sadly it went nowhere. Streaming numbers for that song aren't that good but that's largely influenced by playlisting.
So, "What Do You Think Of?" can be that song. If it becomes a radio hit, it will probably be a big hit overall and she could really use that. It's a risk but anything she releases from this album has a risk of getting a year-long chart-run to peak on the 30s and not do anything for her career, so just go big and see what happens.
(Sorry for the long post but just another take: I'm getting even more mad at her team for not letting her be on "Thinkin' Bout You". Getting Over Him isn't really moving faster than her other singles and Thinking 'Bout You is shaping up to be one of those big defining hits. Dumb decision)

What Do You Think Of is a smash waiting to happen. Disappointed to see her debut so low on the BB200 but she’s far from done.

So to summarize, she should try to release a ballad as a radio single, which I don't think she has done yet. And I totally agree with this. It's high risk but also has potential high rewards.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think releasing “What do you think of” to AC is a good idea. I personally was never big on it and can’t skip it fast enough when I listen to her album but I do think it could be a hit there.
I really hope we can get “It Was Me” at country radio at some point though. That song has potential for song of the year noms and would be a MOMENT sang live at awards shows.

Echoing that WDYTO is a Hot AC hit waiting to smash. Lukas had once replied to a tweet that said they should do that, and he said he would like it as well. They've got to be considering it at this point... Does Lukas have a radio single right now?

"It Was Me" is almost 5 minutes long. It would need a radio edit that cuts like half of it so I don't know if they could make it work.

I can't see any situation where "It Was Me" does well at country radio, sadly. Gorgeous song, but it doesn't even sound like something that would've been a hit 15 years ago.
