I try not to get caught up in this stuff but to be honest this list infuriates me. I would rather she not be listed than listed this low. I guess I can accept if they don't list her in the top top - but some of these choices above her are laughable. Being a good songwriter or a huge star doesn’t make you a good singer/vocalist. I know this wasn’t a list of biggest ranges or best tones but it’s such a reputable publication that I’m incredibly disappointed. Kelly’s singing ability is her trademark - the songs and success are gravy compared to her talent.

A travesty. And I love Beyonce but top 10? No Celine. Kelly rated too low but cant even get mad when vocal bible isnt even on here Mind you according to Rolling Ray Taylor Swift is a better vocalist than Celine? And Kelly? Alicia dry vocals ahead of Celine. 👍🏿 That whole list so whack…..

It has literally been created to rile people up and get people clicking on it. It's not a serious list, nor should it be treated as such.

The positive here is that in every comment section, literally everyone is disagreeing and defending her. She gets included in the conversation a lot more than she did pre-Kellyoke, and that’s nice to see as a fan!
Rolling Stone has never been kind to Kelly, so I’m sadly not surprised.

I'm honestly embarrassed for Rolling Stone. I said this in another place, but this feels like a list that a teenager would make in the days of music forums where their struggle vocalists somehow inexplicably ranked higher than objectively amazing singers. This isn't even about Kelly alone. The entire list is embarrassing outside the top 5 and really seals how far Rolling Stone has fallen off. Like, it used to be a credible place LOL.

Yeah that list is not to be taken seriously. Its just to get people talking basically why I posted it is to rile people into hot takes and fun posts!
I mean anyone with two ears and taste can tell who is a singer and who isnt! I mean last time they posted it Mariah was the 70th best vocalist and now 5. I love my girl but she didn't exactly grow vocals or improve in the last 5 years. She was always top 5 dead or alive

It’s amazing that her name was included on that list with many so many icons and legends. They should have renamed the list something different though as it’s clearly not about vocal abilities and range.

Dear God that is such a divine vocal. I was hoping they'd take it the acoustic route. Gorgeous!

Absolutely sublime. I had never really listened to that song until now. Heartbreaking.

I doubt this new album will be country but I WISH she would at least throw another country single out there sometime. That cover today would be a number one!

And here's Monday's performance that we missed posting: She is so comfortable in her upper chest register, as demonstrated in the sustained F#5 in the first video and G5 in the second one. I say this every year but I really do not understand how it is humanly possible to be at her vocal peak in nearly every facet while entering her 23rd year as a mainstream vocalist while also being a very successful TALK show host.

She sounds divine. Ready for a new album era. I don't care what genre soul, country or pop she give me a fusion of sounds and vocals anyway.

I really hope her new album is in the vein of the Kellyoke's she's been doing as of late.

Big journalist online is touting an interview/piece with her. Candice and her MUA have been on set for a photoshoot with her. Could all be Voice related/something else, could be the first rumblings of a new record.

He just tweeted that he'll be sharing what they talked about "later this week," so thankfully we won't have to wait long to find out! He mentioned "all the exciting things you're working on," so I imagine we'll get updates on several fronts hopefully. Here's the tweet:

Very likely that I’m jumping ahead of things/reading too much into this, but this man writes for Esquire and covers a lot of their celeb feature interviews.

Sounds like he really enjoyed the preview of her new Wayfair collection!
(I kid, I kid…I do have a feeling that we are going to have music news within the next few weeks though, if not the single itself.)

I’m going to optimistically assume that these are rumblings of new album news. A “comfortably open conversation” aligns with what Kelly said last year about needing to be “ready for the interviews” when she releases this album.
I am *so* eager to hear this new record. It’s clear she’s gotten that songwriter “spark” back that was there earlier in her career, but this time, she also has the full support of her label, plus years of growth as a singer and songwriter. I hope I’m not setting my expectations too high - it’s just hard not to anticipate this next album as being her best one yet.

Is there a reason these first two episodes of the year are Kellyoke encores? Are they just leftover episodes from when she was out with COVID?
