^Starting Over, in a sense, was similar, but charted higher from the get-go. I think it will eventually prove to have similar longevity, specially since it seems to quite a lot of room to grow on radio.

Hopefully it sticks around, I find it to be better than Starting Over.

Elton John Extends Span of Top 40 Hot 100 Hits to 50 Years, Thanks to 'Cold Heart' With Dua Lipa By Gary Trust 10/12/2021 Click to copy www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9644233/elton-john-top-40-hot-100-span-cold-heart/Plus, continued chart longevity for fellow legends Frankie Valli & Tony Bennett. Elton John makes a record return to the Billboard Hot 100's top 40, as "Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)," with Dua Lipa, jumps from No. 46 to No. 32 on the chart dated Oct. 16, 2021. With the climb, which sparks John's first top 40 Hot 100 hit since "Written in the Stars," with LeAnn Rimes, in April 1999, he expands his career span of top 40 entries to 50 years and 10 months, dating to the first week in the region for "Your Song," his first of 58 top 40 hits, on the chart dated Dec. 19, 1970. John now claims the longest span of top 40 Hot 100 appearances, excluding holiday fare. He passes the late Michael Jackson, whose history (as a soloist) in the tier stretches 46 years, eight months and three weeks, from "Ben" (Nov. 6, 1971) through his featured turn on Drake's "Don't Matter to Me" (July 28, 2018). Including holiday songs (which in the last frame of the 2020 holiday season accounted for a one-week record 39 Hot 100 entries, including many carols first released decades earlier), the late Chuck Berry holds the overall record for the longest span of top 40 hits: 62 years and five months, from "Johnny B. Goode" and "Beautiful Delilah" (Aug. 4, 1958, the inaugural survey) through "Run Rudolph Run" (Jan. 9, 2021). Another illustration of the impressive scope of John's longevity? In the current Hot 100's top five are The Kid LAROI, Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow, Walker Hayes, Drake, Future, Young Thug and Ed Sheeran. The names in the top five in John's first week in the top 40? Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, George Harrison, The Fifth Dimension, The Partridge Family and Santana. (Extra coincidental fun fact: "Your Song" marked John's first top 40 placement when it jumped 49-38, after becoming his second Hot 100 hit overall. At No. 37, its peak, that week was Aretha Franklin's cover of "Border Song" … John's first entry, which had reached No. 92 in August 1970.) "A lot of it is, of course, due to Dua Lipa's popularity and the brilliant Pnau remix, but I feel very, very content and happy that I'm relevant," John recently, and humbly, told Billboard of the reception to "Cold Heart," which mashes up four of his songs from the '70s and '80s. "I've always tried to be relevant. I think a lot of that is due to my [Apple Music] show ['Rocket Hour']. My object when I do that is to play new music by new artists. I've come into contact with them, promote[d] them and become friends." Shout-out, as well, to Frankie Valli, who, via a cover, sees one of his hits reach a notable high in the Hot 100's top 40: Måneskin's "Beggin' " rises 19-16. Not only does it ascend to a new best, it matches the peak of the original by the 4 Seasons in April 1967. While Valli's history in the Hot 100's top 40 as a credited soloist spans 1966-78, his catalog has experienced a resurgence thanks not only to "Beggin' " but also Surf Mesa's "ily," featuring Emilee, a No. 23 hit in November 2020. The song interpolates Valli's No. 2-peaking 1967 classic "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." (Valli also earned his first Latin Airplay No. 1 last December with a mostly Spanish-language reworking of "Take": "Te Quiero Baby," with Chesca and Pitbull.) Fellow legend Tony Bennett extends his longevity to an unprecedented level on the latest Billboard 200, where, as previously reported, Love for Sale, with Lady Gaga, launches at No. 8. Bennett now boasts a 59-year and one-week span of top 10 albums (starting Oct. 6, 1962), the longest on the chart excluding holiday titles. Only the late Nat "King" Cole's span is greater, extended by a holiday set: 63 years, eight months and two weeks, from Love Is the Thing (April 20, 1957) through The Christmas Song (Jan. 2, 2021). Similar to John's notable through line, Bennett ranks in the current Billboard 200 top 10 below Taylor Swift, Drake, Meek Mill, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo and Doja Cat. In Bennett's first week in the top 10, he shared space with acts including Cole, Ray Charles, Peter, Paul & Mary, Bobby Vinton and Elvis Presley.

The biggest surprise to me is that Film Out and The Good Ones got the digital #1 and LTDO did not. How in the world did that happen? (I’ve totally forgotten Film Out and The Good Ones existed, lol.)
I would have thought LTDO got at least one week with the several weeks it was discounted.

I think Tom MacDonald's 15 minutes of minor chart success is running out, fortunately. He keeps failing to make the Hot 100 proper at this point. I think people are getting tired of his shtick. You can only beat the same dead horse for so long.

Chart Rewind: In 1991, Mariah Carey's 'Emotions' Lifted Her to a Historic Career Start By Trevor Anderson 10/12/2021 Click to copy www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9644037/mariah-carey-1991-emotions-hot-100/She set a record that still stands, with her first five singles all reaching No. 1 on the Hot 100 and outdoing The Jackson 5's feat of four straight in 1970. Superstars come in many forms. Some achieve greatness gradually, working the circuit for years with progresses in prominence until a pivotal moment -- an unexpected awards sweep, a landmark performance or a well-received sonic or stylistic change -- triggers an ascent into music's top tier. Others, though, blast off with such force that it's hard to believe they were virtual unknowns the year before. In the scope of Billboard charts, few arrivals rival Mariah Carey's entrance, capitalized with her single "Emotions" topping the Billboard Hot 100 on Oct. 12, 1991, to give then-21-year-old star a historic record. Thanks to "Emotions," Carey became the first -- and to date, only -- artist to send her first five U.S. singles to No. 1 on the Hot 100. The feat, achieved in just over 16 months from her chart arrival, began with her debut release, "Vision of Love," which reigned for four weeks in August 1990. Second single "Love Takes Time" followed it to the top that November, while third and fourth releases, "Someday" and "I Don't Wanna Cry," reached No. 1 in March and May 1991, respectively. With that song quartet, all from her eponymous debut LP, Carey tied The Jackson 5's record from 1970 as the only two acts to begin their careers with four straight Hot 100 leaders. Given the unique situation at hand -- the next single could secure a one-time-only chance at this record -- Carey and Columbia Records faced a choice: Release a fifth single from Mariah Carey or close this chapter and let anticipation for a second album build to maximize interest. As Billboard's Paul Grein noted in his May 25, 1991, Chart Beat column -- the same week that "Cry" reached No. 1 -- the former thought was already dashed. "Columbia reports that it has no plans to release a fifth single from Carey's album," he wrote. "There are three likely reasons … to avoid overexposure, to protect Carey's string of No. 1 hits, and to force cost-conscious fans to buy the album rather than wait for more singles." But there was another option. Bucking the tradition of pop stars waiting years to follow megahit albums, Carey and company elected to gear up for round two with sophomore album, Emotions, that fall. "I discussed it with everyone," she told The New York Times in September 1991. "We decided I should put out a new album soon, because I was growing so much from the last album." Grein also noted the play's commercial point in the Aug. 31, 1991, Billboard: "Carey's decision to follow up so quickly is apparently designed to consolidate her position as the new queen of pop/AC/R&B crossover." "Emotions," a disco-pop track co-written and co-produced by Carey and the duo of David Cole and Robert Clivillés (better known as C+C Music Factory), debuted at No. 35 on the Hot 100 dated Aug. 31, 1991, the highest yet of Carey's five releases. Six weeks later, the single evicted Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch's "Good Vibrations," featuring Loleatta Holloway, to rule the chart for the first of three weeks. Mission accomplished: Five singles, five No. 1s, the best starting streak for any performer in Hot 100 history. Now, for number six. The follow-up single to "Emotions," the ballad "Can't Let Go," entered the Hot 100 at No. 42 that November and skipped into the top 10 three weeks later. It crept from No. 8 to No. 7, No. 6, No. 4, No. 3 and No. 2, but in a dramatic finish, climbed no higher. After a record-setting start, Carey's first single in six tries to miss the Hot 100's top slot did so by one position. The next offering, "Make It Happen," couldn't course-correct either, although it still rose to No. 5. For Carey to retake the No. 1 rank, she ironically borrowed from the group whose record she had just overtaken -- The Jackson 5. In 1992, Carey appeared on MTV's Unplugged series in an effort to rebuke naysayers who believed her famous whistle notes, like those that reach dizzying heights at the end of "Emotions," were studio creations that she couldn't reproduce live. Within the seven-song set, Carey included a cover of The Jackson 5's "I'll Be There" (with accompanying vocals from with Trey Lorenz) -- incidentally, the very song in 1970 that gave the Jackson 5 their pre-Carey record of four career-opening No. 1s. Soon after, the new version became a single -- and within weeks, Carey's sixth Hot 100 champ. Since that record-setting start, Carey has captured several more Hot 100 accolades. Among the most impressive: Her 19 No. 1s are the most of any solo act, and their combined 84 weeks in the top spot also ranks first in class. She most recently reigned in January 2021 with "All I Want for Christmas Is You," her 1994 holiday classic that continues to be a gift that keeps on giving. It first reigned in 2019, but with its repeat trips to No. 1 in both 2020 and 2021, made her the first artist to rule the Hot 100 in four distinct decades.
