How is that possible? Maybe a remix or something. Are there precedents for this? It’s happened before, most recently with Kip Moore re-releasing a re-recorded version of “Crazy One More Time” from his debut album, which came out a decade ago already. The song didn’t catch on unfortunately because Kip has no momentum at radio sadly. Two better known examples I can think of are Brad Paisley’s “Waitin on a Woman” and Keith Urban’s “You Look Good in My Shirt”, both of which went to #1. Each song was originally included on an album that was released a few years before the songs became singles, and then those songs were included on a second album as well since they became big radio hits. Cody Jinks' "Loud and Heavy" being promoted right now is another example. Seems to be becoming not unheard of..

Can confirm they’re seriously considering “You Ain’t Here to Kiss Me.”
It’ll be a re-recorded version. It’s different but not too different from the original. I would 1000% support this move because I think it’s the biggest leftover hit from that amazing debut album, and should have been a single over “Like I Loved You.”
I think this works in rare instances (like the previously mentioned “You Look Good In My Shirt”, “Waitin’ on a Woman”) and this is one instance. Brett needs the best songs right now for radio and this qualifies.

After looking like this one was about on its way off the chart a month or so ago, this one's picked up a bit of a second wind lately and made strides to move up to just outside the BB Country Airplay at #21, while also (finally) cracking the Hot Country Songs chart at #50 this week. Not sure I see this making it any higher than a top 20 finish, and the nearly 30-position discrepancy on HCS indicates we're looking at a very low-impact single, but it's hanging in there on the airplay chart for now.
His next single needs to be a show-stopper that'll get the needle moving again. These safe middle-of-the-road singles aren't going to cut it for much longer.

Honestly if Brett Young and the label try to go safe middle of the road with the next single after this, then I do foresee it for sure flopping. He just has not move the needle at all in a while now and it feels like radio's patience is wearing very thin given this one's long trek up the charts.

So I had a chance to see Brett Young in Abbotsford last week, and he announced that he is planning to drop a new EP/LP with 8 songs around early next year. He played one of the unreleased songs called "Love Goes On", and the below is my recording of the first and second chorus. He also said that the release of the album would be after "the current single peaked", which made me think that the promotion of You Didn't would last til the end of this year, and they are going to move on to the next project.

Re-recorded "You Ain't Here to Kiss Me" out Now!
Sounds very similar, with some different production choices here and there. With his new tour called "5, Tour, 3, 2, 1" It sure looks like this will be the next single pushed.

I really, really love this song ("You Didn't") now, so even though its overstayed its welcome for about 30 weeks, I would love to see it peak high for Brett.
The one thing I need them to realize is Brett can absolutely knock uptempos out of the park. They focus on mid-tempo and ballads so much with him, but songs like "Used to Missing You," "Left Side of Leavin'" and "Leave Me Alone" are exceptional and I think radio/the GP would be receptive to something like that from him. It's really been since his debut single that we got anything like that to radio.

60 weeks on the Billboard airplay chart and falls back to #17 (Peak of #15). I have grown to somewhat like this song but with this at 60 weeks now, I have to think the end of the road is coming sooner than later.
With this taking over a year to get a Top 20 peak, the label has to absolutely nail the next single choice.

This is currently at a -42 bullet right now on Mediabase Building. I hope it isn't getting dumped now; it's a great song and it would be a damn shame for it to actually make the hot 100 only for it to get dropped shortly after.

I have to say, it is wild this is still being promoted. On the chart 66 weeks this week, and it seems like it will not budge from #12/13 spots.

Think it's time to let this one go. This impacted November 2021 and that it beyond long enough for a song that clearly isn't going anywhere near #1. Feel like his next single will determine if he has any more radio career left, because a 66 week chart run only to get to #12 is rather underwhelming.

Dierks has now passed him by as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if this has fallen off the chart altogether this week.

I keep thinking it surely has to be done soon but it just keeps hanging on. I wonder if they're hoping for a top 10 at this point.

The fact that this still has a promo ad on this week's Country Aircheck weekly email has me dead.

The fact that this still has a promo ad on this week's Country Aircheck weekly email has me dead. I was absolutely shocked to see this. For a song that went for adds in 2021, not even top 10 by March of 2023 with a bullet of +8 as of this morning. They must really think he can’t do any better. Actually kinda sad when you think about how much promise his first few singles showed.

So many radio stations have not even played this much so it’s still a “new song” to a lot of ppl. This song is really good and all you need is for 2-3 big stations to put it into heavy rotation and it could give it new life.

To be fair this has spent now 27 weeks in Top 30 levels of airplay so it is probably pretty familiar with most listeners by now. Also going for adds is relevant to a point since that's how long radio has been stuck with this song. Their are stations that have had this song added since 2021 and we are now almost in March of 2023, I have to imagine those stations to an extent are sick of this song. Lastly given the age of the song, a few big stations isn't gonna do much anymore as this song just has no life left in it to give if the bullet is any indication

If they can just convince 1 major market station that isn’t playing this or playing just a little to add it into heavy rotation it will get a good bump and might convince other PD’s to increase its spins. As it’s been pointed out this song has been on the charts for 15 months so what’s the harm in pushing it another month. Once this gets top 10 they might throw in the towel and call it a success and move onto the next single.

The adds date is relevant to the fact that that’s how long the label has actively been promoting the song. 15 months of promo to not even have reached top 10 is abysmal for an artist who has already established themselves at radio. I like the song and wish it had been a bigger hit, but it’s really just getting embarrassing at this point.

The fact that they haven’t means they still feel like they can convince some pd’s. You have to also understand how many “deals” can get made. The label could tell a major market PD that they can make Carly Pearce available to play at your station’s Christmas show later this year if you up the play of “You Didn’t”. All types of deals are available. Maybe it’s too late or maybe not….BMLG still sees hope.

Should be noted he's only not added on 2 stations. Not sure how big their markets are but I doubt those two would be the difference maker here. Plenty of songs make the top with 1 or 2 stations never having added them. (Mediabase add)

But if deals always worked, then songs by big stars wouldn’t sometimes peak at 20
