Well, it's about damn time!
ETA I meant that for the BBD song. Perfect ranking for Quincy even though I like the song, it's just too much competition.

I didn't want to rank Kenneth so low, but he will have his moment to shine in later years.
Bye Quincy! Bye Pumpkin!

21. Jerk Out - The TimeOver five years after going their separate ways, the original members of The Time (Morris Day, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Monte Moir, Jesse Johnson, Jellybean Johnson, and Jerome Benton) came together to record the album Pandemonium. The album's lead single, "Jerk Out", turned out to be the band's biggest hit, as it topped the R&B chart and was their only Top 10 on the Hot 100. It also helped Pandemonium become their only album to reach the Top 20 on the album chart). The song was first recorded by Prince in 1981 during recording sessions for The Time's What Time Is It? album. Prince then re-worked it in 1985 for the band Mazarati, though it didn't make it on the album. It was re-worked again for inclusion on the Pandemonium album. These last two reveals suck; both are bops. How they're out while MC Hammer is still in...what a joke. And I hope you guys didn't tank "Feels Good" as hard as you did the other TTT songs

I'm surprised my cousin Ralph is still in it, but...kinda happy, even though I don't think he deserves. Overall, great top 20! I actually love Tender Lover but It's No Crime is the superior bop.

Welcome back! Leading off today's reveals is the song that has the 2nd highest SD. Someone will lose their #1, while eight others will lose a bottom 5.

20. The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite) - Quincy Jones feat. Al B. Sure!, James Ingram, El DeBarge & Barry White"The Secret Garden" was the second release from Quincy's Back On The Block album. This bedroom ballad was Quincy's second straight #1 on the R&B chart and was certified gold. Apologies to wyckyd ... wyckyd - 1 I knew this would be coming eventually... doesn't make it any less disappointing tho. This is slow jam perfection to me, and the extended version with the sensuous sax added in just makes it even better.

Today's extras are from his Tender Lover album. First, the follow-up to his R&B #1 "Tender Lover". Co-written with Pebbles, it peaked at #2 on the R&B chart and #6 on the Hot 100. It was nominated for a Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and for a Soul Train Award for Best Male R&B/Soul Single.
Whip Appeal - Babyface
The follow-up to "Whip Appeal" was another Top 10 R&B hit, peaking at #3. It also reached #30 on the Hot 100.

Whip Appeal will remain Babyface's best song. I have SUCH great memories of that song. I can hear all the adlibs.

Today's extras are by this rapper from Oakland. First, the follow-up to "U Can't Touch This". A remake of a classic by The Chi-Lites, it peaked at #4 on the R&B and Hot 100 charts.
Have You Seen Her - MC Hammer
The follow-up to "Have You Seen Her" was also hit, peaking at #4 R&B and #2 on the Hot 100. It samples Prince's "When Doves Cry" and contains an interpolation of Faith No More's "We Care a Lot".
Pray - MC Hammer
Fun fact: "Pray" set the record for most number of times a song title was repeated on American Top 40, with 147 mentions.
