I think for me, the singles and hits songs for both Red and Fearless suffered and aren't as good as the original because like the originals or not, her more youthful and vibrant tones fit more with the more adolescent subject matter. It was a bit noticeable on Fearless but it's especially distracting on Red with songs like 22 (why did she have autotune on the bridge) and even her renditions of Babe and Better Man being the most obvious - the latter weren't good songs when Sugarland and LittleBigTown sung them and Taylor didnt add much either.
That said, I think the more emotional deepcuts like All Too Well as well as the vault songs work better because she's grown to be a more mature singer. This is why I'm most excited for the Speak Now re-recordings, the album featured some of her best songwriting and even the poppier songs weren't as overbearing as they got with subsequent albums.

At 10:13, All Too Well 10 Minute Version was streamed 34,642,060 minutes in the US yesterday, smashing Drivers License’s record (Girls Like Girls is shorter than DL). Combined with the og version it’s absurd how much ATW was streamed time wise while I get the sentiment, and it is indeed really impressive that a 10-minute song is #1 on Spotify currently, this stat is simply inaccurate/unavailable to the public. Spotify counts anything above 30 seconds of play as a stream, and it is highly unlikely that all the streams actually played the full track (for any of the songs mentioned, not just Taylor's). we just have no way of knowing which of the three songs you mentioned had the longer play time during their streaming peaks. for all we know, "7 rings" or "I Don't Care" or "good 4 u" might have this record. (Though I will say Taylor Swift breaking it would make sense, considering most of the people streaming her re-releases are presumably fans of hers and likely to stream a good chunk of the song, but we can't do simple math to confirm it or come up with a number.) here's my reference on what counts as a stream: artists.spotify.com/help/article/how-we-count-streams

Maybe it's just me but I'm finding it hard to get into the Taylor Version albums. The OG albums will always be the best versions to me. Yes, I check out my favorite tracks on the new versions of the albums but after a few listens, I'm back to listening to the OG versions (there's just something about Taylor's voice back 8-13 years ago that expressed pain and heartbreak a lot better than her voice seems to be able to do now) and so far, the tracks from the vault just aren't doing it for me. I'm still buying digital versions of the re-releases and streaming as much as I can in their weeks of release but that's as far as my support for them goes. I'm happy the albums are seeing success, though and I'm glad other Taylor fans are geuninely enjoying going back to the TV albums — I'm just not one of them. This is perfectly fair. I do feel like maybe Taylor's vocals can't recapture the same young and free feeling as the original versions because her voice is more mature now. It also might be a bit of us just being so used to the original that a re-recording just sounds off. But I do prefer some of the newer versions, like in State Of Grace the production interests me more and I'll return to it from now on. But with IKYWT the production is more reserved and doesn't hit as hard, so I'm gonna return to the original. It's just a hit or miss for me. Like with the conversation about streaming problematic artists' music- it's up to everyone's personal choice, but for me personally I doubt me streaming the original versions will affect Scooter's money total too much in the grand scheme of things. But if anyone doesn't wanna stream the originals for that reason then that's fine, it's up to everyone's preference.

I think All Too Well is probably going to have around 40 million total US stream for the chart. With zero radio and next to no sales, it's probably not gonna beat Easy On Me but maybe a #2 debut?

Time for All Too Well (Dancing Witch Remix) Taylor doesn’t do number twos lol, if it’s Tuesday and it looks like she’s 10 points behind Adele she’s going to pull out all the stops. If it looks like it’s a cliff after day one and she’s “only” going to debut around 5-10 then I doubt she does anything

(widely panned as her worst song even though I love it) got ~795 points, which would’ve beat just about any other song in the past ten years, she just got incredibly unlucky during Lover Easy On Me is wayyy easier to beat even with changes in rules and ATW technically being almost 10 years old That being said I think day 2 will be rough and ATW will debut around 4

Let’s put all the annoying Taylor chatter aside. We already know how rapid this fanbase is and how quick all these re-issues, bonus tracks, etc. will fall off. She will be a non factor by early December, especially once Christmas music moves in.
The talk should be about how “Smokin Out The Window” has naturally risen to streaming levels we haven’t seen since “Stay.” I know the album release helped with the boost, but it was already on that trajectory even before. Silk Sonic should strike for #1 on the Hot 100 while they can before Adele comes through with her album. Do they have a shot is the actual question.

I mean this is about this chart week and Taylor is likely going to be higher than Bruno this week… like just because we’re talking about one thing (the possibility of an almost ten year old non holiday song going number one which is a fairly once in a lifetime occurrence so it should be talked about) doesn’t mean we can’t talk about others

I really doubt “All Too Well” will still be #1 on Spotify in a few days. “Smokin Out The Window” is #1 on Apple Music and will have way more radio points to back it up. I bet by the end of this tracking week, SOTW will have more streaming points overall.
And yes, you have every right to discuss Taylor. But I figured we can talk about something else after 3 pages of that.
Edit: Nevermind. I didn’t realize she had two versions. It’s a nice calculated move on her part.

SOTW is probably screwed until Christmas. Because it's not debuting at 1 on Monday and there's a more than reasonable chance it gets outstreamed by All Too Well this week. Which then Brings us into December and theres MAYBE one week Mariah/A Christmas song won't be number one.

I remember last year it was this week that she returned.

If she made a misstep - not making it 9:59 to sell it individually. It’s not like digital sales are that important. As others have mentioned, I’d ATW/ATW10 combo is within reach of #1, she’ll grab it. EOM isn’t even that far ahead of ancient Stay for the week that just ended. Honestly, I think Taylor wants the original hits to be the go-to while she focused on sprucing up album tracks. Taylor is well-aware there’s zero artistry in cloning the hits. The album tracks and vault are what has separated the TV project from all the re-recording tragedies that litter Spotify.

^It's actually in English (mostly it seems). The genre mentioned is alternative Country (it looks to have some trap beats). You can look for it on YouTube (I won't post it here, well, you know already know why ...).

So we're certain both versions of All Too Well will be combined? I remember reading someone speculate that if the track length differs by more than 1 minute they might be counted as separate songs?

anyone wants to talk about the new Avril Lavigne song? loved it tbh Get Olivia Rodrigo on the remix. That way Avril gets a hit and Olivia gets more "good 4 u"-like material. It's Avril's best song in years but I'm not sure her team and budget are at the level needed to make it happen chart-wise. That’s if Olivia will ever do a feature or she’ll do an Adele and never collab with anyone at all for most of her career.
