It'd make things a lot easier if country radio actually started pushing Flower Shops for real, but it's been stagnant around 18 for a while. I've wondered if it's because country radio doesn't like to push more than one song by an artist at the same time, and Wasted On You is absolutely dominating country radio for Morgan Wallen at the moment. I'm a huge fan of both ERNEST and Flower Shops, so I'd really like to see it make the year end list as well. Maybe once Wasted On You starts falling back a bit, radio can make room for Flower Shops.

(FYI, I've popped the top ten up a font size, and bold entries are those over 1600 points, the theoretical cut-off for the actual year end.)

Harry is as long expected finally in the actual year-end top ten, not just the predictive year-end top ten.

What I find interesting is that there are 3 songs still on the Hot 100 that actually acheived chart peak in 2021: Stay, Bad Habits and... Morgan Wallen's Wasted On You which debuted at #9 in its first week and has been first dropping then slowly re-climbing the Hot 100 since. It's at #14 this week, up 3, so it's possible (but unlikely) it could still surpass its chart peak of over 30 weeks ago.

Bad Habits is extremely unlikely to drop lower than #14. Most I can see passing it is the three just below it, As It Was, First Class, Enemy, About Damn Time & Wait For U

We'd basically need someone to drop a Stay/Good 4 U/As It Was instant smash with a long peak to get it to #15

Whether or not Wasted On You hits a new peak will entirely depend on if it takes off on pop radio. It's officially getting sent to pop and AC formats in the coming week, so we'll see what happens.

I think this the time of year to start thinking about 2023 hits. What songs do you guys think will be hits in 2023?

It might be a little bit too early to tell, I'd say come back at the end of next month/September, but I think the first three aren't too far fetched.

I'm gonna wait a bit to tell my best and worst songs of each but I think my best and worst hit of the year are pretty set.

I don't think As It Was or First Class will be around long enough in 2023. With LNT on the rise and MSR on the way, I think if Harry has a song that is still smashing in 2023, it will be one of those or even a 4th single from Harry's House. I also think First Class is declining too quickly on radio. I think About Damn Time will still be smashing, but it's too early to tell, and we have to see if a second single emerges from Special and/or the speed at which ADT falls on radio after its reaches its peak on there.

I know it's too early to tell but I like to make predictions for next year hits in July. I love making really early predictions.
