Happier Than Ever is 1000 times better than Levitating. The way I had "Happier Than Ever" in mind when I wrote this but it backfired😭 So who do we think will end up at #2?

For the record, "Goosebumps" peaked in April, 7 months before Astrofest there's also a version without travis scott (that frankly is much better lol) if that helps How tf is there a version without Travis Scott didn't he make this song like 3 years ago

Far as I remember, it was always Travis' vox on the HVME track. My understanding is, the initial version used a filtered acappella or something, and then when Travis was brought on officially, the vox got replaced with the real studio acappella.
EDIT: So I just did a bit of googling, the original version of remix wasn't actually Travis? I didn't know this.

Not quite, I don't think? My general understanding of remixes like this is, they start as unauthorized bootlegs. Then the bootlegs generate some buzz, that's what gets them noticed/signed. Legalities are ironed out (sample clearances and royalties to original artists, etc.) and the track gets officially released. Not every case is the same; I think with Imanbek's 'Roses', he was directly sampling the original version (not even any kind of acappella, the actual fully-produced track) and then the officially-licensed version was released as it was, without further modifications.
Here, it looks like there was a cover vocalist on the 'Goosebumps' remix, then a version was re-done using vocals from Travis himself.

The real question is, what the hell is going to be last place. I honestly have ZERO idea. I'm thinking one of the DaBaby features? Those are the ones I tanked and I imagine at least some others feel similarly.

Those are the ones I tanked and I imagine at least some others feel similarly. "For The Night" isn't going to go from #41 in the 2020 rankdown to #100 in 2021, so rule out one option immediately. "Cry Baby" isn't as well-liked as "For The Night" but I do still think it will have enough supporters to beat out the handful of songs no one on this site cares about.

Sent, first half of this YE was decent, the last half felt so damn underwhelming, like leftover tracks or something

The real question is, what the hell is going to be last place. I honestly have ZERO idea. I just heard Put Your Records On for the first time in full and I see it as a possible last place right away. He looks so bored and uninterested singing the song. Possibly one of the worst covers of a song. Songs mentioned here like Good Time, Drinkin Beer, even Fancy Like are at least a little bit interesting, heck I can even say one of those will probably be in my top half or at least come close to it. I don't see anything interesting about Put Your Records On. It might not even be my last place song though but no complaints if this is last.

Judging by some of these last place predictions, I don't think that I might be happy what could be last place.
Honestly, this year was actually not as bad as I thought.
Also, I'm kind of surprised but I like the song Whoopty, so I dunno if that is a good thing I actually like the song.

Just sent and ya, good stuff mostly. The stuff towards the bottom of my list is either 1. Bad but still fun in the right situation or 2. stuff I'm tired of at this point and I never want to hear again.

I think I will just say it right now. Good Time and Glad You Exist were nice discoveries for me and I'm kind of surprised to not see it liked. I will have them high, spoiling, so I really hope they aren't last. I will also have Put Your Records On kind of high too, it's not bad.
I guess I can accept if Bang is last since that one is more average than good for me.
I don't see Fancy Like being last place now, I think it is viewed like Body Like A Back Road, you either love it or you don't.
Let's be honest, there is no way a rap song is going to be last place here, but some are deserving and should be last place or bottom 10 in my opinion, but I do not think they will.

ok, so we've hit 15 lists, so how about a ballot update? let's see how the lists inputted so far have shaken up the results! 👀
so whose lists are in right now? well, there's me, Abbaschand , wrip , mikerivera , @tharsicano , reputainbow , golfradio , tanooki , Mayman , RoseColoredGirl , @crapkuki23 , Clode , razorshark , singingrulebritannia , and 312999 !
-5 songs have spent the entire time in the top 10 so far, 3 of them being in the top 5
-4 songs have spent time at #1, 3 of them being the top 3
-the top 3 thus far is extremely competitive, it's looking like a 3-horse race for the top. how close are they? #1 is only 3 points ahead of #2 and 9 points ahead of #3. as a matter of fact, #4 is actually pretty decently close to the top as well, just 24 points behind #1
-now going to the bottom 10, 6 songs have spent the entire time in the bottom 10, the entire bottom 4 making up 4 of those songs
-3 songs have spent time at #100, and they all make up the bottom 3
-it's looking like another 3-horse race for the #100 here, and though things aren't as close as they are at the very top, they are still pretty damn close. #100 trails behind #99 by 15 points and behind #98 by 18 points. from there, things separate a little bit, with #98 being a whopping 70 points behind #97
-there are a few surprises going on right now - there is currently one song in the top 20 that i did not expect to be there. meanwhile, there is one song outside the bottom 10 right now that i did not expect to be outside the bottom 10 lol
-25 points separate #91 from #90, while 13 points separate #11 from #10
-the SDs so far have had some fun things going on. currently, the highest SD is located at #76, with the 2nd and 3rd highest SDs being at #59 and #35 respectively. even though one of these top 3 highest SDs is a bit surprising, i have my eye on one of the top 10 highest SDs. and, uh...well it really surprises the fuck out of me and i don't expect it at all to have such a high SD by the end of the rankdown lmao.
-as common in rankdowns, the lowest SDs are towards the extremes of the list. right now, #98 has the lowest SD, #100 has the 2nd lowest, and #91 is the 3rd lowest
-as for any ties, we have one singular tie right now at #68

As much as "Butter" factually didn't deserve its weeks at #1, an iconic and ground-breaking masterpiece such as "BANG!", "Fancy Like", or "WITHOUT YOU" is surely more deserving of that coveted #100 spot than that mediocre BTS song.

I think the first week or two were legit weeks at #1, but the rest of it was all the doing of the Stans (and Billboard being their bitch).

One could argue in favour of the first week, but I saw some calculations somewhere that showed it still wouldn't have debuted at #1 without website sales, though I guess we can't say for sure how many of those were genuine first-time purchases. But at least 9 of those weeks were robberies of the songs that actually deserved it (most notably, "good 4 u").

Looking back, I definitely should've ranked "WITHOUT YOU" last in the summer rankdown. I'll have it significantly lower than "Butter" and "EVERY CHANCE I GET" in this. "STAY", on the other hand, has grown on me a fair bit, and would be an easy top 20 if it weren't for the piss-poor delivery in LAROI's verse and how long it stayed (no pun intended) at the top of the charts. About half of these songs I find at least decent, which I hope none of them will be in the bottom 10. I only really despise about 8 of 'em from this list. So overall, definitely a better year-end than 2019, but still filled to the brim with mediocrity. That could just be a side effect of me getting old. I'll give some of them another listen and maybe submit a finalized list. I'm curious to see how these results will end up.
And yeah, let's please give AJR the #100 they've earned.

Yall do realize with all the Good Days praise, yall just setting it up to be the next to join the #11 Curse Club right? Nah, that'll be "Leave the Door Open". It fits too perfectly. An urban crossover song like the ones before it that did moderately well but not that well on pop radio, which seems to complete the recipe for the #11 curse. But you guys can please feel free to prove me wrong on that.
